was around a fellow members house, trying to help diagnose a cylinder out. Checked spark, there is a spark, checked coil pack, the coil pack is fine, checked basically everything, when doing the screw driver test on the injector, you cant here it, the spark plug is dry and not wet, even changed spark plugs with a known working one, changed the coil packs with a known working one, it makes no difference if the coil pack is plugged in or not, the cylinder isnt firing, i checked for corrosion on the injector plug, but its clean, infact really clean lol, and checked the wires. Only thing i couldnt check was a signal to the injector wire and the injector its self. …

Hi Chaps, Can I just run this past some way-more experienced eyes? Just to see whether I'm working this out right for the Rota Grids (18s) that I was looking at. Working from the standard sizes [Front 16 x 7.5 45mm Offset and Rear 16 x 8.5 35mm Offset] I'm thinking for 18 x 9.0 Fronts with an Offset of 25mm and 18 x 9.5 Rears with an Offset of 22mm would give the following; Front Inner Clearance of +1mm and Outer Position of + 38mm Rear Inner Clearance of -1mm and Outer Position of +26mm IF that does sound right, would the increase of Outer Position warrant any arch rolling / flaring do you reckon? I'm thinking that it wouldn't but hey, I'm st…

Right this is the 3rd Zed ive owned.... all TT's all imports. all Autos (although this one has been converted.. 1 was a 1990 and the last 2 1992's As the title suggests, is it just me or do they have "a smell"??? I know when i get in.. that im in a Zed... its just the smell of the car, nothing unpleasant i think they just have a particular smell to them.. Now is this just me.. or is there anyone else who has noticed this... CheerZ Neil

Finally got my car back today thanks to the expert guidance from Powerzed.. The car sounds awesome and growls like a huge beasty and its still on limited boost thanks to Noel being a big dirty spoil sport.. I thought PowerZed just did Engine rebuilds but that Myth has been well and truly smashed, Jimmer does everything. Ive got a couple of bits to sort and break the engine in and then of for its remap at TurboNoz Id like to publicly say a huge thanks to Jim and Noel. Ive asked daft questions, changed my mind added a few curve balls and nothing was too much trouble for Jim.. And with Noel lurking in the background offering me tips and guidance Iv…

Hi! Just thought I'd share my euphoria after getting back from Belgium. Since buying my Z in June I haven't really driven it much in the wet and was finding it a bit frustrating on the public roads - it just seems to attract tossers in Corsas with wide wheels and black windows who want to impress their spotty mates/girlfriends. So when an open-pitlane trackday at Spa came up I seized the opportunity with both hands. The wife wanted to come too so the trip was expanded to a couple of nights in the Ardennes followed by an inevitable couple of nights in Bruges. I'd done a full day at Spa in my previous car (V6 Peugeot 406 Coupe) and loved the place. Not diffic…

Well I was trying to get this finished to show off on the Blackpool run, but those who saw it on the night know it was not quite working properly Anyway now it stopped raining I've fixed the little problems and now it works as intended It's my own design and uses an Arduino Microcontroller to handle the necessary functions, I wrote the control program in the 'C' programming language What do you think? Right, having got over my annual period I have decided that selling the car may be a little hasty (if a mod could please lock, delete, burn, dismember that thread I would appreciate it). Ok. So here are some symptoms and status. They may, or may not be associated to each other. 1. On cold start up, revs climb to 1300 after catching, then drop to approx 150, before picking back up and settling at 1000 ish. The rev drop will occur after each touch of the throttle until the car has been running for a few minutes (no accurate engine or coolant temp gauge). 2. Pressing the horn causes speedo needle to quickly swing 80mph above whatever it is currently at and t…

Just gauging reaction, has anyone attempted putting this 'fly eye' film onto the headlights of a ZX, as a way of tinting the headlights apparently legally example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50cmx107cm-Road-Legal-Car-Headlight-Tint-Perforated-Fly-Mesh-Film-Like-Fly-Eyes-/251350033810?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a85a12592 Do you think it looks any good?

Ok so ever since I passed my test I've always wanted to do a trip to the ring, but something's always come up so haven't been able to go, a few months ago the GTIR owners club did a trip to it but with a baby on the way again I couldn't go, the pics and vids ect looked great fun So I thought next year this is defiantly something I want to do, now I don't think this club does enough big meets or events so I was thinking maybe we could sort out a road trip to the ring, we could do it for example May or June next year this gives anyone interested plenty of time to save/get there cars ready and to sort it with work ect. It would be a long weekend thing so something…
