Hi, just found I forgot to fit these and now cannot find the old ones..... Anyone know if they are just standard 2.5' 3 bolt ones? I need to get some tomorrow...... And was going to pop down to local motor factors and don't want to have to jack up car and remove decat pipe for a template.... Cheers.... Russ

  3. My old Zed did not have the HICAS elimination but this one does - it was like that when i bought it. I was just wondering (after watching that 300ZX video that princeking uploaded) why is the HICAS eliminated seeing as it looks so clever in the promotional vid. Nissan must have gone to all the effort of fitting it for a reason one would think. Then we take it off again? Rich

Dont know if its a common fault or maybe im missing a bit of trim , but as the heavens have opened , when opening the boot fully water falls down side of the bootlid and right into the rear speakers... not ideal, I now obviously dont open the boot fully to avoid this but telling the misses this seems in vein as it just goes over her head. Is this a common problem and is there something i could cover the speakers with the avoid this, or is it just a case or never fully opening the boot? Thanks in advance Alex

Have done a few tech posts concerning recircs leaking via the diaphram internally giving poor boost issues etc. well this tech concerns a spin on that, whilst looking for the cause if a boost issue in a zed in the work shop the normal boost leak test showed a very large leak at the front under the afm. Luckily the zed in question had an induction kit fitted so was much easier to see what was going on. Initial thoughts were one of the pipe cuffs to the recirc was the issue as I could feel the air escaping in that air with my hand wrapped around it and inflating the inlet pipework. However once I had better access I could see the cuffs were ok but the metal vacuum in…

Is the main engine loom the same on the auto and manual cars. The reason I ask is because there is part of the loom inside which goes to a connector block, which I guess probably heads back to the key ignition switch. I am just asking because I am reshelling from an auto converted to a manual to a manual? Thanks gents!!!!

Walking out of my local subway back to the car and I watched some dick in a silver Laguna reverse straight into the zed. I watched it shunt backwards. The guy looked like he was guna drive off, but he clocked me coming so he parked up and got out. there didn't look like there was any damage, (as you'll remember I've got a damaged front end anyway so the odd scrape or scratch I wasn't guna be bothered about.) although there was a little bit on his, He said it was already there from another accident earlier, and everything seemed solid on both our cars. He really didn't want to give me his insurance details in case ' I try and get a new bumper out of him'…

got my quote for extensive sill/rot repair issues all around the car at £1k for: -full sill replacement + undersealed -front turret suspension mount and inner wing rebuild -leading edge rear arch/sill replacement and supporting internals. this is for both sides of the car, and we see way too many of these old girls getting broken, and i've decided its about time we saw a few more getting rescued! the cars by no means a rusty hulk but if i'm getting it done, i want all the usual problems dealt with so I never have to worry about them again. cars MOT isnt for a couple of months, and I could probably get it through for far less BUT would just run into…

I know these lights are not to most taste... but if you do like them these ones seem in good condition with bolts to hold them on.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aftermarket-Rear-Lights-300zx-/290991421893?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43c070b9c5 could always be upgraded to leds at later date... current price is worth it...

Spent a while today fitting a HID kit. It's a 35w 6000k for £25 off eBay . From this To this Gonna have to change the side lights/fogs now as they look way too yellow in comparison. Strangely, fitting the kit has added to a previous gremlin. If I beep the horn, the speedo needle jumps to 80 then back to whatever speed I'm doing (even if stopped). Since fitting the HIDs this now also happens when first turning the lights on. Any ideas?

Im looking now to get an outside wintercover but unless its a realy good one then ill think ill rather take the chances of having the cover freeze to the paintwork like it did last year. And no i cant buld a garage imafraide. If not looks like tonnes of polish and a straped down markie thing.

I want to change the driving lamp bulbs in the front fogs as mine seem really dull and yellow light a smokers fingers. What size bulbs do I need? I also want to add bulbs into the outer chambers of my indicators, where can I get a couple of bulb holders that will fit? Or should I just go down to the scrapyard?

Changed my spark plugs for the first time myself rather than a garage. Bit fiddly as you know all went well strut brace off ballance bar off and replaced again. Quite pleased with myself I fired it up and it ran lovely on all 6. But with a whistle from the ballance bar on the drivers side. I had used some black gungey liquid gasket stuff but it was sucking a bit. I decided to go a bit tighter on the 2 bolts and snap! I did not feel I was tightening particularly hard. Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory! What do people reckon. It's definitely a garage job now. The plugs looked good to me.. Other than the fuely one and the o…
