I was looking at cranking over using 3.4 ltrs and then check dipstick after a few minutes? What is best way..... add 3.4 litres and then add more if it drops...?? Cheers....... Russ

Hi Guys, Well, a couple of 5:00am starts, a missed flight and a trip to Lurgan in Northern Ireland later and my new Zed is still not quite home yet. Don't get me wrong, she didn't miss a beat on the journey back. She even coped with 2 and half hours of rush-hour traffic off the ferry and through Liverpool, the temp gauge never even troubling the middle of the dial:clap: The car went straight to MWP in Chester for a FULL healthcheck and to get some of the more pressing issues sorted :thumbup1: She's in for a replacement scuttle trim, top door window seal, driver's door alignment, and an oil cooler for the 'box. Oh yeah, and a working radio would be nice too. I…

I have no heat inside the car. I haven't checked anything as yet but I'm just wondering if there's any easy way to check if my heater core's been bypassed...? Anything obvious I should be looking for generally? Blower works fine but only blows cold, radiator is fine, cooling system is fine with no leaks or issues. Cheers.

Its always the case that at a cracking good event you never get to see everything, so I'll start specifically with other peoples pics of Zeds I have found so far. An outlaw jap member got this cracking pic of my car: Then there are a few Zeds I missed altogether

Hi, I have just fitted the new oil cooler and lines and before I get finished putting radiator in and cranking over the engine............ I have a few questions..... 1) I can't find the restrictor in the old oil lines as I only had the ones from the block to the metal hard pipes.... no restrictor seems to be in them..... do I need to get one and fit it to the new braided lines? Made restrictor myself 2) How do I prime the new oil cooler and oil lines before firing the engine for the first time? I know about cranking the engine without ignition to prime the turbo's..... Do I fill the oil cooler manually? Going To fill oil cooler before I fill engine to make sure there…

Not sure if this is the right section, but il pretend it is. I've been thinking for a little while about this, the yanks seem quite keen on it and few clubs are turning up around the uk. For those that are unfamiliar with what autocross is, it's a times point to point race through a series of cones, usually in a flat surface. The cars usually required to be road legal and to have arrived under their own steam. So what's so good or different about it I hear you ask? Well price is the main thing. Costs are low due to it being able to be organised on a flat surface with permission, no track day costing. Lower speeds, shorter tracks and massive run offs mean that the…

I'm sure I already know the answer to this, but just in case I am being dense, I wanted to ask first. My Zed is a '95 NA, but I am almost positive that the front nose (or at least the lip) is from a TT as it has the intercooler vents. Could someone confirm either way please as I am about to order some bits from the states ;) Cheers Al

I have that new bush to go in, I have gt85'd and wire brushed the hell out of the end of the arm, finally got the nut off and stuff but can not move the arm off the bush. I exposed the inboard end of the arm but don't want to dismantle things I don't need to. Does it just need a bloody good pull. Then there is the matter of getting the bush out of the hub. All advice greatly appreciated.

Its no coincidence that the vast majority of 300ZX owners in motorsport start with a slicktop. Its the lightest model in the range. Way back in 2005 I weighed a standard NA Manual Slicktop. It weighed 1420kg as driven on to a weighbridge. Fuel around 1/3 tank. This was pretty much what Brian Long listed in his book. After a fair amount of stripping which was partially documented in a thread at the time I got the weight down to 1320kg. This was with my original red slicktop. When I built the current orange and black car I did some more weight loss but never went back to get it weighed So in its present spec I weighed it today. It weighed 1270KG. There…
