General Discussions - 300ZX Related

When I turn on the car, it takes anywhere at least 20 minutes for the car to reach temp while just sitting there, but as soon as I start driving it starts overheating. I replaced the thermastat when I installed my new radiator, but it's still the same. Should I try a sensor?

Hi I've just ordered a tinted roof rear window spoiler of eBay just wondered if it was the same as on Jason's car the beast has any one got close up pictures of his one there's not a lot of choice of roof spoilers there's a Zemax one which I'm not keen on .The jap made one made by real speed looks good but is mega money to get here it seems most are made for the 2x2 model .can some one post a pic of the eBay one I've ordered it's on a blue car in the eBay add its from the states thanks Taff.

what's the general opinion of the BIG rear spoiler on the red zx in the pics on jae 2013 thread are they sturdy ? quality ? fiiting ? doe's it flow with the body lines ? been offered one not cheap but seems reasonable ,but what are they worth ? i am in two minds

well what a way to start a weekend arrived at JAE dad calls me over and tells me i am now the proud owner of a zed to be more specific a 1989 SWB in silver shame its only a N/A and Auto but that may get changed sooner or later this car used to belong to Ade (gurteen) and more recently mark freeman few bits need sorting on it but thats about it

well what a great weekend we had up early to meet andy and tom at Lymm services then off to Knutsford to pick up Gary Wilson for our 4 zed convoy down to JAE and what a funny weekend it was so many laughs so many people taking the piss ( mainly at me) and i cant forget the booze and the barbie so big thanks to voddy for organizing it and next year should be Bigger and better than ever more to follow

I have nearly finished my new boot install, just the wiring to go. Haven't done this yet as was going to do that and fit the new flip screen head unit at the same time to save removing the radio fascia twice. Got one question though, where would be best to earth the amp in the boot? I have fitted loads of systems before but just want to make sure I do it right on the 300. Any help would be much appreciated.

So Sat 14 saw the Club challenge Time attack cars assemble at Donington. Bob had been there overnigt and by the time new team member Paul and me arrived just after 8 there were only a couple of little jobs to do before a 9.05 warmup seesion. Hi, my mate bought a 92 TT auto import recently. Yesterday the engine turned off suddenly while doing around 50mph. It happened right after taking his foot of the accelerator. All the lights on the dashboard lit up and the Power steering turned off. He pulled over and started it up again. It did it again a few minutes afterwards while doing around 30mph. As soon as he lets go of the gas, its off. I watched it happen around 5 times in just over an hour. Anyone have an idea what it could be? Thanks Alex

Well attended for the day and put a few faces to names and met a great bunch of people. Although not in my Zed met up with Andy, Tom, Gary and Ian and son at 8am this morning to make the journey.

Ime running 18,s with a 20mm drop on all corners...on the front i have 25mm spacers but there is a very slight rubbing on the liner at the front outside corners. Has anyone had to adapt or remover any inner liners to accomadate there setup?

Seeing as the car is going off to Jimmer soon for its engine swao I thought I'd quickly throw it on the car, whilst doing all the other jobs I have to do. I fitted a contoured sub in my Z, ooooh, some 4 years ago now I think. As far as subs go, it looks ok....it adds some bass..nothing mind blowing......but..... I kinda get slightly embarrassed when opening my boot and there to be seen is 'phat sub' sat there staring back. I know some like this look and are into competition builds or what have you but I really want rid of it. I'd benefit more with the boot space if I'm honest. I just don't like speakers on display. Hi fellow Z owners,cambelt on my car is covered in oil,noticed this when I had CAS removed it looks bad,engine oil everywhere, I suspect front crank seal. I looked in 300 zx manual and it says oil pump needs to come off to replace it,also engine sump ??(to remove oil pump) so :cambelt,sump,oil pump got come off to replace oil seal?

Hey all, Here's another headlight annoyance post, but mainly because my question is unanswered using search function.. So in both my projectors I can only assume that previous owner has had trouble with getting the h3c bulbs as I found what looks like a h4 twin element bulb but completely massacred and wedged in to fit h3c fitment... Both filament positives had been soldered together and then a ground soldered to the base?? Needless to say, it doesn't work.. Hi all im in need of some help to determine what is causing this sound from the front of the engine. It can hardley be heard at idle its just when the car is revved at higher RPM it squeals. The engine had a full 120k service 4years ago including oil pump, water pump, belts, idlers, tensioner and rebuilt alternator. The engine had then not been used so all the parts are still brand new. We started the car recently and we got this squeal from the front of the engine that was diagnosed as the cambelt being to tight or the tensioner being faulty or seized causing the belt to be tight.
