General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Something that I have been meaning to do for some time now, is remove a redundant pager that had been spliced into my alarm system. It had also been spiced into my audio antena. Can anyone advise me as to if there are male to female connectors available please? I do not want to splice back together as previously. Hope someone can help.

as above ive aquired some spares from a mate who removed them all from a crashed import tt... this car came from japan with these parts fitted!!!! these are now on my car and has made quite a bit of difference to the way it drives a pair of Arc intercoolers an Arc airbox chipped ecu (which has a genuine nissan remanufactured ecu plaque ( 2371M41P14... A18-000MC9K... 5919 )on it. on inspection of the internals between the this ecu and the one i removed from my car, the small board that sits inside is totally different to the chipped ecu we removed from the car.also the chip has a red led incorporated in it)?????

Hi Mark, First time I've ever contacted you I think :wacko: I have a small project in mind, part of which involves removing my CD head unit and replacing with a USB or iPod-only head unit, i.e. one without a CD-loading mechanism and therefore not 2-foot deep! I'm thinking about relocating the head unit elsewhere in the car; where it goes depends on the sort of sizes available although I suspect most of them will be DINs or double DINs. I'm guessing they would require separate/external amps. Would you be aware of a list of such head units that are currently available, in particular any which are non-DIN-size if they even exist? The symptoms Only does it when engine is up to temp Appears to be near side bank as the exhaust that side spits and shakes lumpy when up to temp Very light throttle then clears up as the revs rise slightly The lighter the throttle the more violent the mis/hesitation So far; Changed the spark plugs Swapped the coil packs side to side Checked the injectors have resistance all the same as each other Checked and cleaned all plugs inc lambda, water temp, throttle position injector and coil pack What now?

Do you think this is repairable somehow - Maybe some kind of rubber adhesive? I mean is it really that bad anyway? If I hadn't pulled on it I would even have noticed! I know, I know, not replacing is when the engine it out would be crazy...but I'm spending way to much money at the moment, so could do without spending money on this.

Hi everyone, My air leak weas fixed this week finally, WOHOO!!! turned out to be some kind of bypass pipe or something?... all the way from the manifold down to the something or other... had to take radiator out and everything to get to it! I was hoping this would fix my rough idle/misfire, but alas it is still there :( When I unplug the MAF the rough idle goes completely, could this just be a dodgy MAF??.. If so does anyone have one I could borrow and/or potentially buy in order to test this theory?.. Would love to test this out before actually buying the part as I know this can be a long road of buying a number or parts to try and find the culprit! …

Hi in 2000 my Z was painted in de beer Porsche Amethyst by a local sprayer.... In 2002 de beer changed the mix on their microfiche.... We found this out after my painter tried to replace the front bumper after accident damage and thought he was going mad when the paint was different..... He checked and resprayed and again wrong colour mix.... He managed to get the right mix formula and did it...... But now I need it resprayed he can't find his 10 year old diary with paint code in it...... It is metallic and has pearl... de beer are being very unhelpful and nobody seems to have the 2000 de beer microfiche anymore.... Tried colour matching by local company and it …

Hi all, it's been ages since I've posted on here. Car has been laid up for a year or so! It has a coolant leak at rear of engine on passenger side (nearside). I've pulled the plenum to do a water bypass but think the leak is coming from further down! Is that where the passenger turbo water feed is? If it is how the hell do you get to the pipe with the engine still in. I can just about squeeze my hand between the rear of the engine and the bulkhead. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. As above lost all use of changing gear on clutch, rac man came out and we got it going but it was leaking heavily and was pointless using clutch so drove about 30 miles using revs but finally had to give up and get it recovered, its been sat around for a while would it likely to be slave cylinder? thanks in advance. Its an RPS Max btw....we did manage to pump it up and get some clutch back then it was just going again. Couldnt select gear whilst engine just running but could start it in first and pull away.

not having a good day i am off work til mon so thonght i would get my vert out and clean it not taken out much as interior being retrimmed my mondo ,cleaned it and pollished so looking great ,so intention is to put back in gagage and put cover back over it ,so lot going on in my head with looking to move ,started to put car away and backed into piller of garage scraped bumper and dented rear quarter ,fealt sick just ben to body shop that did respray ,looking at £ 400 the joys of having a fat arse car .

Alarm set for 03:00 Thursday 29th August. Up and showered ready for Keith to pick me up at 05:00. From our place we drove to Troon in Scotland to see Lee (JaiKai) and collect my new engine (and a few other bits Lee was kind enough to let me have (cheers buddy, much appreciated). I swapped my black dummy lenses for crystal ones some time back and ran the sidelight and indicator lamps to the that unit instead of the original, (the long term plan was to get fog lamp units and install them). Anyway, I now want US spec corner units instead. Anyone either managed to get hold of any or modified one you already have to look US? Cheers, Dan

Looks like my egr has been blanked off, can the egr valve be unplugged and the whole system be totally removed from my car without either putting the car into limp mode or putting cel on? Thanks,
