Having seen a question about changing the abs sensors on the diff a week or so ago I had the very job come in the workshop and though a few pics would be useful. As it happened this particular zed had a hicas lock out fitted which made the access a little easier but not by a lot, it made the pics easier though. The sensors on the rear diff do not fit directly into the alloy unit but into steel inserts that are pressed into the diff, now this makes for a 50/ 50 chance of the unit coming out easy, the steel insert rusts and makes the removal a real pain, the most important thing is to ensure the sensor comes out of the insert not the insert out of the diff. …

As Z32Bolt pointed out rightly, its high time I punched a post up here to show how our Z is progressing. It is the HollowPoint(S) Z as it's a joint passion of Alex (HollowPoint who unfortunately cannot access this forum), and myself - was known as 'SexyCrayola' Alex takes care of engine and performance, I take care of Electrical, audio, modifications, bodywork, painting... The Mod list.... Obviously I cant edit anything once posted but this is up to date now -- I THINK! Car: UK Spec 1990 Twin Turbo Targa (Manual) Engine: VG30-DETT (from an auto) Wheels: Dare Hiro - 19" staggered, colourcoded Exterior Mods: Veilside CII sideskirts moulded/i…

I fired up the old girl for the first time in about 3 years. a couple of issues to resolve before i stick it in for an MOT. The one i had completely forgotten about was the front power steering hose which is leaking. This is the hose with the spliced 'joint?' half way along which is under a foam shrowd. I think it comes from the discharge of the pump to the rack. first question - can i get one of these new/recon'd, and at what price? secondly- if i repair it myself and get a new hose made off using the existing end fittings by the guy who does my digger hoses, is this 'joint' section just a joint or is it a restrictor/NRV? it seems a very odd place t…

I've been working on the car from 08.00 to around 22.00 when I gave up for today. I was about to put the one piece driveshaft back but couldn't get it to fit. On the end that goes in to the transmission I noticed a cap (don't know what the correct owrd is in english) at the end. I couldn't see any cap on the transmission female part... Am I just tired and missing something? Can't remember it being difficult to install the driveshaft...

Hey guys just trying to figure my spending for the car this next couple of months and im wondering how much a auto to man conversion would cost to start with. Also I went out and decided to warm her up and take her round the block yesterday and she seemed to just be stuck on 2k rpm and not want to go any higher almost like a limp home mode - did this for about 20 mins then went back to her normal 5 cylinder self. Ive not been using her at all as I want to prevent bore wash any idea as to why shes started doing this all of a sudden. Going to be chaning all the plugs next week and sorting all the coil packs out to see if I can give this one last go before I opt fo…

Got a question as I keep seeing/hearing different views on this. When filling the system, am I right to do so with the heaters set to 40? Also should the heater fans be blowing? Now on the main main question, the overflow tank. Should I be filling this at all. A lot of stuff I've seen says no, but yet the manual says to fill it to 'H'. What's right?

After my misfire last week I changed the spark plugs and replaced an injector that turned out to be duff. Now, I have a slight misfire that only happens on very light throttle. If I press the accelerator pedal to the floor the misfire clears up but then when I am back to light throttle like when cruising the mis comes back. I can get it to misfire in neutral too by bring the revs up slowly. What should I be checking now? Thanks, Dan

Found out i had a leak on my car last week, so this week jacked it up and fixed the leak. Was the power steering fluid leaking out of a pipe. Took it for a drive, stopped down the road and looked underneath and there was still a bit of oil dripping out. Took it back home, jacked it up and the leak is coming from where my finger is. Is there meant to be a bolt there? If not why is it leaking? Thanks

Thought id share my results from my recent Dyno Day where i had the car mapped for the second time The first video was made on my very first mapping session back in October and the car achieved 348.2 bhp from a measly 273.6bhp... i realised i had alot of engine issues at the time from oil leaks to boost leaks to coil pack connectors and injector plug connectors being well gone but the guys did the best they could do on the day and fixed what they could to achieve 348.2 bhp with 375.6 lb.ft of torque.... Bearing in mind im running 95 Ron fuel..... yes im a tight git and didint want it mapped on super.... they did try persuading me but i thought no.... Af…

Hey, Can anyone tell me, or even better, show me with a pic, where the clutch booster vacuum pipe connects to on the plenum? I'm using an NA engine in a turbo shell, and utilising the original clutch booster, but I don't know where it should connect to, as I didn't disconnect it having an NA clutch in my NA shell. I'd assume it would connect somewhere near where the brake servo connects...I'm also worried the turbo plenum is different and I don't have the required connection... Cheers!
