My left 02 sensor needs replacing. I've not done this before and I understand I may need special tools to do it? Are there any good writeups on how to do this and what tools I'll need? Otherwise, does anyone have the tools already and willing to lend them to me? Promise to send them back asap! Cheers Vig

Who on here is running a apexi avcr on the zed? if you are what settings are you using on them to get the best response?. i have got mine at .9bar and at 75% duty. im sure this isnt correct tho so would like to see how others are and try them settings. I know it has a self learn on it but that has its problems as it requires full throttle runs in 3rd and 4gears which both are way past the ban limit for any roads. so if anyone could put all there settings down it would be good to compare them with. one last thing too, does your revs match the cluster rev gauge as mine is way off( at tickover 950rpm it reads on screen as around 170rpm for somd reason.

right continuing on from out tappy engined track z, we have removed the rocker covers to have a look at the lifters, now, we have found the head on the high compression side of the engine to have lifters which we can press down on, and on the other side the lifters dont compress by hand. now we turned the engine over to build oil pressure here is what we found...... the "normal" compression head on the drivers side the oil comes up through the lifters and lubricates the camshafts normally..(?) on the higher compression side (passenger side) you can here the lifters tap but more importantly there is little to no oil being forced thrugh the lifters to lubric…

hey, does anyone have a way on getting it out of the bearing and making sure it won't get damaged? the reason is that my mechanic had to take the rear hub off to put on the new bycas (HICAS eliminator) system but because the shaft was stuck in the bearing has now said that the bearing needs to be done and he can't guarantee he won't be able to get it out without damaging the shaft. it's rusted in (from what he said)... :(

Right i was reading another thread and something that i took from that was if you have to much air and not enough fuel you will melt your pistons from running to lean. Now my question is if you put a after market air filter on your car like i have Jeff. and in my case the air filter size and potentally the cubic inch of air intake over the norm set up is greatly increased is there a chance of this? i now you said my car was pluged into a cunzult after doing a cambelt but can you explane to us thickes how this works? and why there is no threat of the melt down. what stops that is it your set up or is it something else . ? thanks.

I have started to take a look at this problem today. Tried another speedo. Not working. Problem here is I dont know if its a good unit or not?? Looked at speed sensor on car and according to Jeffs pictures its all OK. However I just want to check if thats the case. according to the thread Jeff says it produces a pulsing signal of around 1 to 5 volts AC. Can I measure that with a Fluke multmeter with the rear wheels being driven up on axle stands If so is it the V with the little wave above on the Fluke unit that I need to set it to?? Dont laugh!!! I dont normally do diagnostics and meters!!!:clown: Since the speedo never worked from day one of building…

So whilst the rain was beating down on the roof of the workshop this afternoon I stripped a nice zed for a cambelt service. After 14 years of belt changes I still get the occasional giggle from what I find, a stuck open themostat, well that is par for the course it seems these days, even the incorrectly set tensioner was nothing new but the monkey who was last in here fitted the cambelt back to front!!! why would you even do that? goes against the very core of how to do these jobs and more about lack of attention to detail. Now most belts come with timing marks on and a little arrow to point the belt the correct way, I am guess t…
