Hi guys. Need a bit of help. I'm running the car in. It's about 200 miles in now on brand new turbos and everything. Went to the Brands Hatch show last night and come back. Today when my friend was in the car he noticed my left hand exhaust from the rear of the car is puffing out white smoke. It only happens with the throttle pushed briefly and then coming off of it. Literally for about a second. The smoke takes anther second to come out then lasts for about 5 then stops again until you blip the throttle again. Any ideas? PCV valves? The engine is fine and gearbox. No funny noises. (:

A couple of times when i've left my cover off the Zed i've then opened the boot to have water come out from the inside plastic surround. Has anyone else experienced this and if so where is the ingress happening, im presuming the window seal but it looks fine and the spoiler looks like it's sealed as well. I've searched the net but only found one thread relating to this that was vague.

As per the title. Can anybody tell me what box is for? I'm guessing lighting. I had two wires corroded and broke off when I touched them, would be nice to know what I fixed.

Was at this hill climb on Saturday to cheer on a Zclub member MikeB in his 1973 240Z. It was a great day for racing and the spectators as we were all treated to a feast of awesome machinery in full flight.A good day for Mike also as he won in his class:bow: Here is his fantastic 240Z Short video of Mike at the start point( click on picture.) And going across the crossroads after going through a chicane

  11. Hi all, I currently have my engine in a hoist and it's partially removed, a little above the mounts. The gearbox is loose and currently supported by jacks. The gearbox and engine are almost separated (I think), there is about a two inch gap between the back of the engine and the gearbox, I can see the flywheel and some of the clutch cover. However, I've tried lowering the engine, and the gearbox, to different angles etc, but I just can't free it totally! It's like something is stopping the transmission / input shaft coming out of the flywheel / engine. Any ideas, or tips, or anything, I've been on about 2 hours now, and getting nowhere fast? C…

I thought the problem was the switch as if you waggled it a lot it would sometimes work, but unfortunately fittting a replacement did not fix the problem When you push the switch to 'close' you can hear what sounds like a relay click in the door - obviously the window is fully closed already When you push to open you don't hear anyything at all Is there a known common problem that causes for this? I ask as the drivers window on my old Z was temperamental too Rich

  14. I know I want 18". Most probably will be rota GTR's. My car is is lowered 30mm, what is the absolute widest the rears can be without catching, I don't mind having a bit of stretch on the tyres either. Also, as for the fronts, what is a sensible width? 8j? What offset should the front have? Thanks, Dan

Is there much involved in adopting them for a Z32 ? Is there perhaps an adaptor kit that would take any grief out of the situation ? Any thoughts/advice gratefully received. Mark

After messing about with one of my hid's for about four days to try and get it to stop flickering, still don't quite know how I did it, the car finally passed its mot! Well chuffed and I can now start enjoying it again, shame I've missed all the good weather though!

As part of my ongoing knowledge learning and general tidy-up/inspection of my car, I'll be removing the door cards shortly. From what I understand and have read, cars built post 1994 came with remote central locking as standard. I didn't get any remotes with my car, so I am wondering what I should be looking for when I remove the door card to indicate if it's fitted or not.

My cars going for paint this trip home. but just before it goes to keep cost down i said ill strip her ready. this also saves someone damaging mouldings ect. my question is how easy is it to get of the rear quater window trim off and the door trim at the top near the glass. do you pop it off or does it slid . or is it a slim scrapper job underneath taped upwards.

  22. I've recently bought my first zed and its in pearl white. It needs the front bumper respraying at some point. It's got one of those foamy spoilers that always seem to go so that needs replacing, and the rear quarters have just started to rust. I've been told that white, especially pearl, is a bit of a fu#%er to match and have all the panels the same colour, so I'm thinking cd my funds are all in order. Get a new rear spoiler, get the arches cut out and new ones in. And maybe have 2 colours in the car, black possibly? With white pin striping. Black spoiler with the white pin, and black on the lower quarters all the way from front to back with some white pinstriping of sme …

My remote central locking has stopped working. The lights still flash but neither door opens. I can hear a very faint noise as if the drivers door solenoid is trying to work. If I open the drivers door with the key, the passenger door opens as it should. Am I right in thinking that it's probably the drivers door solenoid that's knackered?

  24. After some determination I've managed to find this gem. Baring in mind mine would be a 2.5" instead of a 3" so would be a bit quieter with the valve open, but i'm been swayed more into a xpipe center section if I can find one separate with resonators. What do you guys think? - - - Updated - - - There is another video but it won't let me embed it for some reason...

Another job this winter will be to overhaul all four calipers. These have been painted in the past with hammerite, what is the best way to remove all this paint? Should they be soaked in something? Or is this a waste of time and just go about removing the paint with some sort of orbital sanding tool?? Secondly, where is the best place to get my new seals from in terms of quality and cost? Thanks, Dan
