  1. Started by lil Stevie,

Got home tonight to realise the break lights wouldn't switch off. way to dark to be pissing about, couldn't find the fuse so thought it would be easier to pull the bulbs out, burnt my thumb in the process :cursing: and then forgot about the middle one (I forget it's there because you can't see it) couldn't be bothered digging a screw driver out so I just disconnected the battery in the end. Any ideas what it could be? I'm guessing either the switch on the pedal, or a stuck relay. found what looked like the remains of a green fruit polo in the footwell if that sheds any light.

Right, my second question of the day. I've got a j-spec auto TT. Just got some very cheap throttle bodies and linkage off of an N/A (plan on polishing them). Did a bit of searching on here and find that the drivers side unit is different. Apparently missing a vacuum outlet, but other than that both units the same. Please correct if that's wrong!! I cannot find out if the linkage is the same though?? Does anyone know?

  10. and they are - When any guide is referring to rear engine mounts, are they in fact talking about the ones on the gearbox, so not actually the engine? In this pic below, is it the power steering pump that's left behind? I'm sure there is third question, but it's not coming to me right now. EDIT - Oh yes, if I've disconnected the gearbox (and everything else) will the engine lift straight up, or do I need to pull it forward away from the gearbox first, then up? Cheers!!

We have done a compression check on our track z since it started to tick like mad, got these results 1-172psi 2- 200psi 3-172psi 4-200psi 5-178psi 6-198psi Those readings seem high, we triple check with the same results, doesn't the passenger side bank seem high?

Got my welcome pack today (I never applied for one when I first joined a couple years ago) However this may be a daft question - there are two sets of 300zx.co.uk stickers for the rear quarterlights, and I would have thought they went on the iinside - but the letters are stuck to the white part of the strip, not the bluish part so they are all back to front unless they were on the outside of the window. No way can I get them to stay attached to the bluish backing strip Are they back to front or do they go on the outside as that seems the only way to apply them (I'm worried they could come off with a pressure wash....) Designed in the late 1980s, Nissan's twin turbo, DOHC, 4-valves per cylinder powerhouse is one of the all-time classic turbo engines. Surprisingly sophisticated both for its time and cost, the engine was fitted to the 300ZX twin turbo sports car. Nissan engineers were aiming very high with the car - the background to the engine development makes this very clear. In this article we'll cover the technical nitty gritty of the engine and its original development goals. The Basic Anatomy The VG30DETT is 2960cc in capacity, with an over-square bore/stroke relationship of 87 and 83mm, respectively. The combustion chambers are of a pent-roof design, with the spark plugs posi…

I have been reading you can connect the afr gauge wiring to the ecu. Will the gauge read of both 02 sensors or just one? Would it be better fitting a 02 sensore on its own just for the gauge ?

Hey guys, Ok so my mechanic thinks that my bad idle is due to an airleak... When you listen to the engine there is an extreme sucking/hissing sound coming from the front passenger side down below as if it was a hose or something.. Do you know what this could be? It is right deep down behind the headlight. I can't exactly pinpoint it but he seems to think that may create a rough or unstable idle and may be the "misfire" on idle I have been noticing.. best, William.

I'm in need of some new front brake discs but ain't got much money to play with so was hoping that you lot could help out with some recommendation. I'm after drilled and grooved as thats what I've already got and so that they all match. I've seen a load of cheapish ones on eBay but just don't know which ones will be any good. Has any one used the eBay ones and if so.. What are they like? Any help/suggestions would be gratefully received.

  24. Hi Everyone, Just wanted to mention that I had had the water pump cambelt and pulleys replaced this week by my local mobile mechanic who has worked on my cars for years, and I must say, he has done an impeccable job! I was very anxious about it all, but it was quick, easy and cheap! If anyone else around the Southampton to Bournemouth area needs some reliable work done I can't recommend this guy enough, only charges around £15 per hour and has a good 25yrs experience. Will hopefully be able to trust him with the rest of the Zed in the future! Also I must put out a big thanks to Ian Greenfield who has sent me his old pulleys which are a hell of a lot be…

I hope so but there is Donington first. Its been a blistering season for them both with painful excursions off track and more than a little mechanical aggro. Costs have been mounting up at an eye watering rate for both drivers all season. Lets hope the money and the luck both hold till the end of the season http://www.brandshatch.co.uk/calendar/2013/september/modified-live.aspx And for those of you who dont know much about the time Attack series/format.…
