Hey everyone, So we all know the veilside is the nicest sounding exhaust (IMO), I was wondering, what are the runners up, and what exhausts/combo might create a similar sound to the veilside? I have been youtubing for hours and am yet to find anything close the the veilside! May have to be waiting a long time for that one. It seems to have the perfect balance of loudness, along with that classic sporty tuned tone. Would be interesting to hear opinions on the other runners up though! All the best, W.

Ive been doing loads of looking into this as the good SMIC's are very expensive, and the ebay ones are a terrible design and i doubt the core is very efficient. The two ive came up with vary in size and cost, but both will not require much pipework to fit and maybe flipping one of the end tanks. first up is the cheapest: 1- The SMIC from the VW TD group of cars. They measure 8" by 8" but vary in thickness. If you get the lower spec its only 2.5 inch thick, but if you get one from a 130 spec car its 3.5 inch thick. The outlets are 2.5 inch so would require 2-2.5" reducers ( around 7 quid each) You can see the design in this link to a google image http:/…

Well went a picked up ades old zed today and got her home and for the first real drive of the car I loved it even though its on 5 cylinders atm it still felt like it could pull the tits out of most cars... Had very little pertrol in it and forgot my wallet so could not really take it far but loved it none the less. Now the long list of stuff that needs doing goes on.

Sorry to keep banging the same drum, but my quest for a new exhaust is not over yet. I was recommended this shop from a bloke on the Aus forum. and looking at their collection, this one stands out. Any one had any history with the shop or the system? http://www.amsmotorsports.com/shop/ind/300zx-z32/exhaust/greddy-spectrum-elite-catback-systems.html

So a poorly zed in for a cambelt + other work, the cambelt was tacked first as clearly the cam end seals were leaking as escaping oil had run down the front of the engine and covered the alternator etc. nothing too bad however whilst in there I did discovered a few Kodak moments........ So once stripped down it seems the belt was not that old looking, however it was very oily from the cam end seals as I expected, however the run of the belt was not to good especially over the lower right hand pulley, closer inspection shows the pulley had been replaced by pressing a new one, however it was on too far and the belt had been running over the pulley by 4 mm or so......no…

Does anyone have any experience Sky Insurance? Would you recommend them? On the hunt as it's renewal time and have got quite a competitive quote from them though it almost seems too good to be true. Cheers

Over a month ago, I responded to a wanted' advert, someone was looking for a steering wheel with the cruise control buttons and I offered one for free, I was just to find out about postage costs. For the life of me, I can't remember the person's name and I can't find the thread. However, various matters, including a family bereavement, has meant I haven't been on the site for about a month. I wish to extend my apologies to the person I messed about, it wasn't intentional, sorry pal! Regards Ronnie

Unfortunately I couldn't make TOTB last week, but it wasn't for lack of trying, so thought I'd put up a post about it - problem shared and all that :) Some of you will know the scramble I had to get to the previous TimeAttack event, with an engine swap, pedal box install, new loom, different ecu, all fitted between events, we mapped it on the road due to lack of time and came away from the Oulton Park with a decent haul of points despite my crash. Some pics to keep it interesting So this this brings us to last week... Monday - a day of rest and ordering a few bits. Slick Pete kindly sent me a new lower arm to replace my bent one Tuesday - go…

If I was to ever chop the Z in for another car, the cheapest car i would consider presently would be a 911 turbo, specifically a 997. Nothing really floats my boat up to that price bracket that I would consider worthwhile selling up for. Currently a good 911 (997) turbo is around 45-50k and I'd like to see 5k back for the Z so my current figure of how much it would cost for me to sell the Z is £40-45,000! Although, I would possibly keep the Z for a while just to be sure I'd made the right move.

How hard do you reckon it would be to fit this feature, the car has enough sensors to be tapped into etc, are there any DIY versions out there

I fitted the front four of my white sprayed coil packs with powder coated brackets I like the way they look (nothing wrong with lots of chrome but I fancied something a bit different) Anyway while doing so i managed to drop one of the little cloloured washer thingsdown between the cables near the nearside intercooler pipes While looking down there to see where it had gone I spotted a very worn looking rubber pipe about an inch across. It is in a terrible state, all cracked on the surface and badly perished. The condition does not show up well on the attached pic - but what is this hose? Its running from the front of the car and down besides the CAS unit …
