I'd heard that Denny's did high octane fuel so I popped in to find out, the place looked deserted and while looking around I noticed the zed through the window. eventually somebody came out to see me, wasn't too impressed about me peering through the window. As It turns out they don't do high octane fuel. Pretty sure I've seen the zed before but I could of been mistaken, couldn't get a proper look at it.

Ive tried to put off the inevitable and now need to do some jobs that can no longer wait. Because i drive her every day and especially in this weather i cant stop driving her, there are some little issues which need sorting that have been bugging me for a while, apart from painting ( only been 3 years ) someone hit my wing mirror when parked up recently and broke the motor mounting plate, so held on temporarily with some screws, but still wobbly. Got new mirrors to go on but wanted to hold off till the car was sprayed. Spigot rings on the front wheels have disintegrated, so get a slight wobble at 60mph with the spacers fitted. Drivers after market speaker …

It's finally time to bring my self into the 21st century. I'm after a new head unit, one similar to the one I have, (single din with pop out screen) just a bit more modern, USB, SD card, Bluetooth etc... I like the idea of having youtube video's on my phone and been able to watch them on the screen. I'm sure in this day and age that must be possible. I also like the idea of a reverse camera, but installing it somewhere low at the front, sort of a speed bump watcher. Just the problem of mounting a camera, without it looking ugly as hell. I've had a look about, but the major shops I could find are wanting £300+ and they weren't exactly all singing and dancing. …

So, Decided to change the spark plugs and also do a compression test at the same time. Plugs have been in there for 6 years or so, wanted to freshen them up. Compression test I wanted to do as I plan future power upgrades, and wanted to check the condition of the engine. Initially all went ok except for the coil pack wiring connectors being very brittle, going to change them as they were already missing bits before I touched them. Balance bar off no problems, plugs all out easy. Compression test, all cylinders hovering around the 165 mark so pretty good for a 20 year old block. New plugs are BKR7E-IX, I didn't regap them (they came pre-g…

okay , my TT rear subframe and hicas was swapped out for an NA one, The hydraulics removed in the engine bay, just the grey connector left now as can be seen from the picky. I noticed my hicas light was perm on, Pc two shows the main ECU on top and the Hicas ECU beneath. I was advised to remove the connector to the right to resolve the hicas light , this worked , however my Cruise no longer functions, so , Is there just one wire I should cut on the second plug to turn the hicas light off but to leave my cc systems working . if so which one,? Or should I loop the grey connector shown in the engine bay to cheat the system, again if so which wi…

I'm picking up a new breaker at the weekend and looking at the pics I've seen she actually look very appealing. Now its a 91 TT and I've currently got a 96 TT which isn't worse for wear but has a few issues. Currently the 96 I've got has been stripped inside out and all looms removed so it wouldn't be to much work to do a body swap and move everything over to the 91 which happens to be my fav colour off TT silver. The plan if the 91 TT is in good enough condition is do a complete loom swap which will in essence upgrade the older shell. Apart from the HICAS pipes is there anything I should watch out for that was majorly changed between the 91 and 96 v…

Thanks to Noel for his efforts yesterday and overnight to get my car mapped ready for the TimeAttack event this weekend. Time has quite literally been against us from the start with the amount of work to be done, got the car up to him to map for the changed setup but niggles with setting up the new ecu meant it wasn't to be :( Anyhow, I managed to get up there last night and we traced the issues and got the car mapped, finishing around 4:30am this morning... And of course thanks to Jimmer for getting the car rebuilt in time too! Now to start getting packed up to go to Oulton Park this evening. Going to be a long day:blink:

Hi all, going to get a boost leak tester made up tomorrow, I've read of two methods of doing the test... Can I just attach the airline end to where the MAF sensor is and pressurise? or do you need to remove the hoses from the throttle bodies and put blanking plugs in each one? OR are both methods just as good as each other? Thanks in advance! Kane

Booked in for MoT tomorrow morning:clap: Originally got this Z back in 2011 after passing through a few club members hands, http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?156314-My-latest-purchase, and as we all know time just seems to fly past, but, with hectic work/life changes, decided to get it sorted, well rather the very capable Lee Dent, of L.A.Auto's Shrewsbury. who I entrusted to work his magic on it, as I am too busy atm. He did the engine swap for me and also did the usual deletes/mods, infact his attention to detail and passion for Z's is refreshing to see in the trade. I am in the motor trade myself, and it was still a pleasure to pop down to his p…
