Hey guys, I believe my autobox has gone bust. Normal drive the gears seem fine and changes from 1,2 and 3 are fine and smooth but it doesn't go into 4th (overdrive). When boosting, the gears don't want to change at all. Whichever gear its in while boosting, it stays in it and keeps revving high and I can hear a groaning around 3-4k plus rpm which seems to be coming from the engine but its gotta be due to the gearbox. The second I let off the accelerator, it changes gear right away. The kickdown is slippery if not going into 1st. From 2nd to 1st kickdown is fine but then keeps revving up. From 3rd to 2nd, its real sluggish. Revs go up a little then the speeds picks up…

Would just like to say a public thank you to Baz. I was lucky enough to purchase an original radio and CD player from him for a good price and in excellent condition, he was even kind enough to drop it of to me in person today at my place of work. Service or what! Cheers Baz. It was nice to meet you as well mate. Rep on it's way.

After pulling the plenum to do some deletes..... there are 2 issues I need advice on please:- 1) I have found the 90 degree metal pipe going into the rocker cover has come out of the passenger side, the one that goes to the PCV valve.... Does this normally come out of the rocker cover?? Also the front pipe that goes to the other end of the PCV on the passenger side is also loose... the high one that sits under the throttle linkage....??? 2) After removing the turbo I realised there is no heat shielding on the passenger turbo or manifold.... Is it okay to leave it like this or should I take the one off the spare manifold I have and fit it on??? Thanks.... …

Hello, Trying to solve a pulling to the left issue like Dan and went and did the gap test this evening and realised that the front right camber is leaning in towards the arch (negative?) by a couple of degrees, I believe this could be contributing to the pulling issue. I will have my mechanic look into what is causing it, but if it is unidentified then a camber kti should sort it right?... There is one on ebay for £100, is that an alright price? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CUSCO-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-FRONT-UPPER-CAMBER-ARMS-/231042464856?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35cb343c58 Also when I had my wheels aligned last week they just put a …

Anybody any idea what to do about replacing these clips? They go in the t-top weather strips. There are 5 of them per strip ... going to try some small little hex nuts in the ends - maybe with a bit of glue ... in the actual stripping though only the original thing is going to work properly I guess ... apart possibly a square nut. Anyone any advice?

Hi All I have some Brembo 6pots form a Subaru and 345mm discs but need to find some brackets to attach said calipers. Does anyone know whether these brackets are available off the shelf or someone who has had some made up that could let me know whom they used (and has hopefully kept a record of what they made) Its a UK TT with 18" wheels so I cant see there being any problems fitting it all in Cheers

Brake later, increased clutch life, greater stability on corner entry, wicked sound... I have installed the tomfromthenorth downshift synchro rev kit :tongue_smilie: The first time I drive the car I thought about doing that, took me 20'000 miles to get round to it. I tried lowering the brake pedal but couldn't. Its always been a bit too deep, I had to brake like a lunatic or wear high heels to heel toe and since fitting ss brake lines didn't have a hope. I bloody hate dragging the revs up on the clutch on downshifts, feels awful, so does going on off the brakes to blip down the gears on the way into a corner. Smiling like a moron this morning, a v6 zinging …

Hi, when my z has been sat over night and u start it up there is a whine come from the engine, it only lasts a minute or so and I think it is worse when the clutch is pressed, not 100% but sure it's louder, the problem is it gets quieter and quieter the longer the engine runs giving me little time to diagnose, also, the whine changes frequency in relation to engine speed. It sounds like it may be a belt whining, how can I diagnose or what else should I be checking? Thanks, Dan

Hi! I was reading a few older posts just now and I read something about long right-handers being death to Z32 engines That grabbed my attention as I have a day at Spa booked in October  and although there isn't really a long right-hander both Pouhon and Blanchimont are v quick left-handers. Is there a weakness in the sump baffling on these cars? I've only had mine a couple of months and I haven't got up to speed yet on every little Z32 wrinkle. If there is an oil surge problem, is there a solution? On a separate topic, I'm OK with my brake set-up generally (floating Brembo discs and AP 6-pots with Ferodo DS2500 at the front; grooved discs with standard…

OK. New rad ready to go in, here's the plan. Fit new rad, connect hoses, etc.... Now Ive checked the forums re: airlocks, with lots of advice re: auxillary bits, BUT.. the last post i read suggested that as the car front is up on ramps, rear on ground, I can just refill with 70/30 glycol mix, run and check every 20 mins or so, with heater on 40deg, and top up as required, right ? Also, while I'm at it, is there a way to flush out the system BEFORE i put the new rad on? don't want old shite in the new one, I'm thinking.....

I think I've sealed the actual sump itself fine, using heat resistant gasket sealant. I went all the way around, concentrating on the dimpled bits, and used a thin covering on the curved seal areas at each side. However, I didn't use any sealant on the inner section of the plastic seals, as they fit into grooves on the bottom of the engine. There clearly hasn't been sealant used in the grooves previously. Do you think it will be ok? Do I need to do it again? I suppose the obvious thing to do is fill the engine with oil and see if it leaks, but that won't test it under preasure when the engine is running.

Hey guys, As crazy as it sounds but my ptu has been getting wet. Upon giving my idling engine a look I noticed that there was some steam coming from the front of the engine. Turns out that my radiator hose has a tiny hole in it and probably from before has been spurting out water all over the ptu. Any ideas what negatives of a wet ptu might be?? Anyone got a good radiator hose?? Many thanks
