Hi! I had helpful responses to my last request for advice (thanks guys) but made the mistake of burying a second topic in my post. Seemed a good idea to make it a topic all on its own! I'm OK with my brake set-up generally (floating Brembo discs and AP 6-pots with Ferodo DS2500 at the front; grooved discs with standard Nissan calipers at the back; braided lines and Dot5.1 fluid) but the pads on the back are completely anonymous and look standard. What do people use on the back for fast road/occasional trackday use? The Ferodo website is completely silent on Z32 rear pads. I've think read I've read that the rear calipers are the same as the Skyline or somet…

Anyone got any ideas..

After finishing replacing my stereo and CD player, I thought I would go for a quick spin. After a couple of miles I noticed that my temperature was slightly up! (the cars that is, not mine. lol) so headed home. When I pulled up onto the drive I was horrified to find steam billowing out from under the bonnet. It was coming from the drivers side of the engine at the back and was coming up from below the brake fluid reservoir. Any ideas as for the likely cause??

Just a quickie.... ;) Would a T10/501 bulb be suitable for a front repeater filament? Would there be enough illumination from this, and would the repeater flash at the standard rate? Cheers, Alz.

Got engine running but after 2 mins roughly the aux fan kicks in and stays on regardless of temp switch bypass, is this a sign of a faulty ecu? Tried my own ecu on it and the car is fine! Probably answered my own question but I'm a bit miffed as I have to swap my ecu from my main z to my track one, I purchased the impul ecu so I didn't have to do this

Hi All, I'm picking up my new zed next week ('90 import TT auto) and have booked her in for an inspection/re-commission at MWP. The car had a cambelt change 4 years/6k miles ago and more recently, new discs and pads-f&r, shocks and springs. I'm thinking that apart from getting it up on the ramp and looking for bushes to replace etc, the next job should be fitment of an oil cooler for the auto 'box (given the year). What do you think? Am I on the right lines? Many thanks. N.

...well 300zx porn of course. For anyone that hasn't seen this, it is a thing to behold. That engine bay, and the interior.... WOW. GT3 seats work amazingly well, just happens to be a set on ebay at the moment, but replicas aren't' too dear in the grand scheme of a build like this. http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19185&page=10 You have to respect the length of this project, it is a real passion. and for a car which is so unique... I would pay to see this! Best, William.

I signed up to an agreed valuation insurance policy with Sky insurance approximately 6weeks ago. As expected they took payment of the full premium immediately. Only today have I received confirmation of the valuation they are willing to agree - £5k!! After close to 6yrs of ownership, a shed load of receipts and proofs of work completed and a valuation from a recognised car club this feels like a a kick in the teeth! My questions are these: 1. Am I being unreasonable when all the evidence available to me suggests this value is 35% of what I was expecting it to be? 2. Have any of you had this situation? What are my options for recourse? I took the policy solely be…

Hi hoping someone can help me here.... Just changing the cambelt on the car as the original new but old one fitted was on the engine for 4yrs with 0 milage. Anyway I was just fitting the spacer plate between the cambelt sprocket and under drive pulley and noticed that the spacer can freely spin. Should there be a key way to hold it in position? As there seems to be a groove in the crank to place one.. The only one I have is for the under drive pulley. Im guessing its job is to stop the belt from running off the sprocket? Can I do without it? Thanks Dan This is the plate in question

At the weekend the lockup looked like this Now it looks like this After 2 years tucked away I've decided to use the z31 again and have put the z32 away for a while. Slightly sticky throttle and the brakes need ran in to remove surface rust but apart from that she seems in good health. Had a service, think brake and ps fluid could do with being flushed too, one coolant hose was brittle and has been replaced but apart from that i think its good to go. :thumbup1:

I brought a 300zx tt yesterday but on the way home it overheated and the oil pressure was low and had no power. When it got hot it was making a rattling sound but now its cooled it starts and sounds ok, just running lumpy. I have checked the oil and that looks ok but the coolant is very low. Do you think this sounds like head gasket failure?

Hey guys, I believe my autobox has gone bust. Normal drive the gears seem fine and changes from 1,2 and 3 are fine and smooth but it doesn't go into 4th (overdrive). When boosting, the gears don't want to change at all. Whichever gear its in while boosting, it stays in it and keeps revving high and I can hear a groaning around 3-4k plus rpm which seems to be coming from the engine but its gotta be due to the gearbox. The second I let off the accelerator, it changes gear right away. The kickdown is slippery if not going into 1st. From 2nd to 1st kickdown is fine but then keeps revving up. From 3rd to 2nd, its real sluggish. Revs go up a little then the speeds picks up…
