How good are zeds honestly? I am fairly comitted to my zed, I plan to keep it as the high performance car I need. But, I do get wandering eyes, find myself looking at supras on PistonHeads, or bonkers miester gtrs. Capris... elises... So, for those with better car histories than myself, how good are they? Ive heard supras are a bit pants, I do love my zed it feels really good to me but how do they honestly stack up? Would a tvr be better? More rewarding, more capable? I thought this would bring up an interesting discussion.

Any one know the best place to buy them? I have 88mm pistons and the heads have had around 12-14 thousandths taken off. So I guess I need .060 (15 thousandths) thickness. And help is always appreciated

So the other day as I was parking up I saw the reverse leds reflect off the chrome strip on my elgrand as I was switching my lights off to see a better reflection I some how pressed the unkown switch that was drilled into the light pod(which is currently dangling by my knee) and noticed red turns out it had the fog conversion done. I was amazed lol had it for so long and never knew it!!!!

I've bought an engine from Baz last September which has been sitting for about 5-6 months. I'm fitting it this weekend and want to know if there is anything I need to do before attempting to start it. I've also got some braided oil feed pipes for the turbos. They don't seem to have the correct fittings, could someone tell me if they are the right ones

Bit of a random one. I need a square meter or so of faux leather with a pattern that is close to the OEM dashboard. I don't suppose anyone here knows of where to get something like that? (Obviously I've looked on eBay, but with little success)

After almost two years off the road I took the old girl in for an MOT today. I had done loads different bits to it so wasn't really expecting too much but she passed with no advisory's. Couldn't believe it, I was actually thinking of breaking her about a year ago. To say I'm chuffed would be an understatement! Now I'm gonna treat her to a new stereo and save for a respray. Happy Days!

I'm just looking for some general opinions on the subject of reshelling. :) How labour-intensive is it likely to be to transfer a TT engine, loom and manual conversion into an NA auto bodyshell? Is it just likely to be far more hassle than it could ever be worth? I've already done a manual conversion but an engine / loom swap is daunting, to say the least!

Would a original cv knuckle be better than the aluminium coupler on the one piece? Is it worth the extra price? Yes I know they have a core program, but not for me since it would cost more than the core in shipping cost.

Does anyone recognise the make of the front spoiler on my Zed? It has no markings on it, or inside it that I can see, and the nearest I can find is a similar VS spoiler on a skyline. Would like to find out if poss. Thx.

Hi, this may sound stoopid, but can anyone point me in the direction of a diagram showing the warning lights on the dash, both sets, the ones under the dials and the 2 sets either side of the steering wheel housing. The reason i say stoopid, is that i have been searching the net all f***ing day and the closest i have come is a big diagram in japanese.. I need it to see if it shows 2 warning lamps called mission oil and diff oil which come on when i put the overdrive off (out) and the A/T rocker switch on hold??? Rich

As you do every now and again you get stuck in a YouTube session. Primarily on this occasion it was watching z's go sideways. The following paraphrase cones up very commonly in various guises. "Too heavy, wrong centre of gravity, bad weight distribution" Now this confuses me as the bumming of an equally heavy skyline is common place, the z32 has extremely neutral weight distribution and compared to the fan boy favourite the 200sx the z32 is about 6" closer to the floor and has a compact v6 that is tucked in so far down it may aswel touch the road, in comparison to a straight 4 whose bottom end encourages weight on a verticals plain. Anyone care to explain/dis…

Hi, just Got the car back up and running after a gearbox change, previous box showed signs of internal damage ie intermittent gear selection problems, but what ever the problem it would never get out of 2nd. At the time i never checked fuses, Gearbox ECU etc.. i was told the box needed changing and took it on faith. However , now the new box is installed (which was taken on faith yet again it was fine) when i took it out for its first run, it would only use 1st and 2nd in D mode. i have recently had it pointed out that the problem might be external to the box ie the fuses, Gearbox ECU, etc... So i have found out how to put it into diag mode, which i will try soon and…

well I took my Zed out of the garage and started her up...gave her a good wash down inside and out and under the bonnet put her back to bed an hour later and there was a puddle of oil where she had been stood .looking under the hood I could see nothing looking round the block I could see nothing....it is not central to the block so not the sump plug ..its on the drivers side about 16 inches from off centre line... its quite a significant puddle about a foot in diameter....my thoughts are turbo oil feed line..i have PE 1420 turbos...is there any other thoughts on this ?? I don't have ramps low enough to get the car up on to have a look see either :(
