Okay, i know you're all expecting a garage load of spares from me for sale, but i'm going to have to knock that one on the head straight away, sorry. i only have a few items but quality makes up for quantity.. I'm still grateful for the chance to sell them, sorry its been a few days but things are... up and down at the moment. Before i do actually put something up for sale i need to know a couple of things. 1, How do you.... understand that the old sale/wanted/cars for sale are locked, but i cant see how to start a new thread in that classified section. 2, is there any way to differentiate whether a post is a parts for sale, car for sale or parts wanted at the t…

Yep shes ready for another year of fun having had to take her to a different place than my usual "understanding" mot station. My usual tester has tested my zed every year since it was imported but had the roof ripped of his garage in the storms and all his emmissions kit got fooked so i was a little nervous taking her to a new guy. No need to worry coz after Lee Dents sterling work she passed with no advisories at all and thats a first during my ownership theres usually always a small niggle or two on the list, emissions, brake imbalance blah blah blah . My favorite one was once i got told there was excessive movement in the back wheels !!!!!, until his boss mentioned…

I went round to the lock up and tried not to calculate how long it's been since I had a proper drive in my zed. The dirt in the first photo gives an indication of how long it's been which made me sad and meant I'd wasted my energy trying not to calculate it on the walk round. So I woke the grumpy beast She reluctantly agreed to come out for some fresh air We kissed and made up Then I nervously watched the front bumper scuff its way on to a truck (probably only made it due to the gradient we took advantage of in the car park) to wave it farewell for now as it heads down to Jeff for some loving after a Geordie transporter saved the day.…

Best place to get some not too expensive but good quality head gaskets? OEM....? Need some advice here....... this is what it looked like coming out of the top of the rad....... ........... looks like chocolate milkshake......... Trying to think of anything else that could cause this....... clutching at straws here...... right going to dig out my compression tester........ and then going to strip the plenum, rad, fan, belts and pretty much everything....... feeling slightly depressed now thinking how much fun this will be with the engine in the car as I have nowhere to do it out of the car........

Hey, Just before I dive in and part with the family savings on a 95 Fairlady (twin turbo) I thought it would be wise to seek some advice from you guy's... The one I am looking at is in very good overall condition, long MOT etc but has no sound system and an after market exhaust. I will need to fit a stereo and would prefer to buy an original set of pipes. It's done 88000 mls but sounds pretty smooth. The fella wants £4 k , I am hoping to knock that down a tad, but what do you guy's think? Are there any weak points on these I should look for? My comfort zone is motorbikes and I'm "fair" with a spanner but I fancy spending most of my …

Many of the UK zeds that passed through Zedworld in the early days ( late nineties) still had the pre-delivery engine bay protectant still in place, this should of been removed at the pdi point by the dealer, surprisingly we still come across this issue even 20 years after they were sold by dealers!! Cleaning off the coating is a mucky job but although there is still zeds out there with it on its a lot less now, a zed in today had the protectant still in place and was sticky with age and very dirty. The overall look of a nice zed can be spoilt by a dirty bay so with a few basic solutions a brush an air line and a couple of hours its surprising what the differen…

I've been running boost jets for the last 10 years without problems but have finally decided to go upmarket and fit a boost controller. Being the tight arse that I am I've just won a Greddy Profec B II on EBay for silly money. (Control unit only, no other bits yet). :) I'm having a bit of a dilemma on where to put it. I know the neatest place seems to be where the clock is but my clock still works and I quite like it there. Was thinking of maybe in the glovebox or even in the storage tray under armrest. Having never used a boost controller before I'm not sure how practical it will be having it out of sight/reach. Where do peeps have theirs. All ideas &…

Hi guys I've got my Z for sale, on the forum, piston heads, autotrader, gum tree and pre-loved (thought I'd cover all bases) I have her up for £2999 willing to deal at £2700 without the expensive stereo system. From your guys honest opinion is this priced correctly? Or is it to high? I've got a feeling it is a bit over?... Was thinking of reducing price further. I bought in February with a part exchange I gave my mk4 golf in (worth £8-900) plus £2200 for this Z and I've spent 1k on it in the past month, so I bought it for say 3k spent 1k on it It's a good honest car. Would love it to go to a z enthusiast Here's the link for piston heads.. http://www…

Okay the pcv valve topic has been done many times but never wanting to miss a good photo opportunity a pair of really knackered valves presented themselves today and the camera was close by as always. The breather system relies on these one way valves been fully operational to prevent oil laden air been drawn into the combustion chambers and causing exhaust smoke at tick over. The two valves were completely gone and was clear to see the problem, however sometimes they can appear to be ok but be weak or debris preventing them closing all of the time, replacement is the best option given they are not too expensive.
