Difficult to see how in the dry on a straight road and in traffic that things can go wrong but they do, sad to see another zed in a bad way, still not sure to the full extent yet underneath but the o/s rear wheel is all at the wrong angle and the gearbox seems locked, insurance company and customer still in discussion over value etc. will see what they say and update as we go, again may sound over the top but be careful guys and girls, zeds and similar cars can bite even the experience driver in the bum. I am wondering if it is the diff or the auto box? Any suggestions as to what would make it sound like this? And best to dip auto box hot or cold? Cheers...

I was driving back to London from the Midlands a week ago when in the middle of Brixton Sat night traffic my clutch failed. Complete loss of pressure and couldn't engage any gears. Had to sit around for 3+ hrs for a low loader to come and carry me home! I've been out of the country since and unfortunately have shoulder surgery early next week and will be one armed til mid May! Is there anyone close to Surrey that knows their way around the Zed mechanically able to help me in diagnosing the fault this weekend? I would do it myself but a) I know very little and b) the car is in the garage which sits on an incline so I won't be able to get it back in after getting …

back in the paint shop. when i had my car painted it was fine but after a monthor two a few tiny micro blisters. we recone the blissters were caused by a solvent attack on two very diff paints that were not left long enough to dry between coats, and that caused a tiny bit of mouister that was traped to work its way to the surface in form of a tiny microblister. any way as promised im painting the bonnet orange to as well as the front valance. pics to follow soon.

After getting badly cut up 3 times in the last 24 hours I am seriously considering fitting Daytime Running led lights! Now I know that there are a lot of crap drivers out there. (I should know I've probably let loads loose on the road :whistling:), but I'm starting to think that the combination of my low and dark coloured car is a contributing factor. The latest incident involved an LGV changing lanes and nearly running over the top of my bonnet! Most led running lights look nasty to me although I quite like the low ones on the Merc C Class. Has anyone successfully fitted any? May have to bite the bullet and take safety over looks.

As you may recall, Just over a month ago, I repalced my Zed. Well it is MOT time and it has failed big time, it looks like they have found a load of rust around the sill, inner arches and seatbelt mount areas. Also excessive blue smoke so failed its emmitions, which I had had once but stopped and I have been speaking to Jeff about getting the PCV valves replaced. Not looking forward to going home tonight as I am going to haver to explain to the better half why a month old car is going to either cost a lot of money to get right or be scrapped.

Sold my z on sunday and want a manual one. Put an offer on this and won it but after speaking to the guy, its been welded on the front floor pans around the jacking area, needs a wheel arch sorted (rust) and the l/h roof under the targa has rust. Then if you look close at the passenger side lower quarter near the door it seems to be a different colour. Am I being too fusy but living in N.Ireland, its not exactly on my door to go and look at it. All advice would be appreciated.. here is the link and the winning offer. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350871828979?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 thanks guys Derek.

Hi Guys New to this so bare with me guys !!! NEW to Forums NEW to ZX's (But LOVE these cars already) Please help if you can. I have a 1992 non turbo, when purchased it used to change gears quite hard (just the 1st to the 2nd) and would only change at about 3000rpm. had the transmission oil changed and the Halfords machanic put too much in it. but the car was still doing the same. took it to Zedworld (great guy) advised me to have the loom check by an auto-elecrician and get rid of some oil. But due to work being so busy I have not had the time to do anything. So the ZX was parked up for a week, but I took it out yesterday, and found that the …
