General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hopefully someone can help me. I have replaced 80% or so of my air vacuum hose's to silicone but some I just cant get to quite as easy and my car lately is not running right and I'm wondering if it’s due to a leak on an air hose I haven't yet replaced and wondered if there is a way of testing for an air leak myself at home. I have tried searching for help on here and Google but I can’t find anything, don't know if I'm being blind?

Can anyone please put me in the right direction I want a n/s/f and o/s/f lower ball joints. Where would be the best place to get these. Thanks

Have got a friend who's zx has the usual tatty looking windows and rata trims and have beenb striped back to the metal (chrome) underneath. Have looked for the how to guide for the paint used to respray them back to stock oem lookv but can't find it on the tapatalk. I remember some on her that resprayed there's with some kind of rubber/plastic paint and want to show him it. Please can someone pay a link up for me to it if possible. Thanks Dave

Firstly I have a Red Top 25 battery fitted. When I first installed it (2009), it worked just fine but sometimes, the engine won’t turn over – you just hear the solenoid click and the instrument lights dim. On occasion, when this happens the solenoid sticks on. Other times, the engine will turn straight away and start just fine. Or it can start just fine and the starter stays on with the engine running. My gut feeling is that I think I may need a larger battery with more Cranking Amps. Or do I need to strip the starter down and give it a good clean? Is that even possible? Any opinions welcome.

Just got a new spoiler from Car.Mad. Should be with me tomorrow but I think the guy who was going to paint and fit it for me is busy this weekend. Anyone in south East London/kent area who can help this weekend?? Has to be this weekend as I am away for Easter and want to take the car.

right then im home so is my car, already back from the paint shop again. so heres a few pics now with new paint and new bonnet orange as well. iv yet to fit her up thatll be starting on tuesday. out tom . and ive got to get the spoiler aswell the roof one and the rear one and the front panel. the onyl thing now is im thinking of painting the intercooler at the front black, what you say. as is or black.

Well I replaced my N/S turbo's gasket between elbow and turbo some time ago when I had a nightmare and dropped something down into the turbo...... A Socket!!! I noticed yesterday that I had a large blow on the exhaust and felt the leak with my hand down the back of the battery and engine.... I took it all apart today and found the gasket I had fitted when I got the turbo off was........ well....... upside down........ doh!!!!! Looks like I just fitted it and thought it only goes one way up..... but it doesn't and blows like mad..... it even looked okay when I fitted it, but doesn't seal...... I even rang up JeffTT for some advice and he suggested that I may hav…

Hi all, I've had this sitting in my garage for the last few years and before I do anything with it, I would like to know what type/make/copy blah it is? It came off my Jap 89 TT import which was shipped over here in 2001. Really like the style but not too sure if i want to fit it to my other car. Any help appreciated.

Has anyone put a mishimoto radiator into their zed? if so how did you get the radiator in? its a tight squeeze to get it past the turbo pipes!

Yes....sorry, another cat question. So, I'll be putting an exhaust on my car soon, and I know the MOT rules changed recently (Jan I think). My engine (NA), is from a 92 car, in a 90 shell. Both are imports. I read somewhere, that even if you don't need a cat, one has to be present at the mot!? Well, when i first got the car, the pot was empty, so i topped it up, give it a bleed and all was rosy and dandy, with how my car has been recently, i removed the cap to the clutch slave and low and behold, completely bone dry again, now i know i have never had a leak that has shown its self under the car / engine, there doesnt seem to be anything else out of place on the system, and having a read a thread on the aussy forum (that never got solved) i seem to be having the same issue, although, unlike them where they lose complete use of the clutch, i can still use mine, just the pot is empty and its rather well solid to use. seems I have a strange noise coming from what seems like the drivers front wing or under the drivers skuttle trim ,sounds like water boiling a flapping or something like that anyone had this or know what it is i only hear it out side the car and when ive been for a drive ,not from the engine bay as I had the bonnet up

Hi does anyone know if the oil pump can be fitted without taking the engine out? Can it be changed by removing the sump leaving the engine in position? Thanks Dan

Hi, Had this noise for about 6 months now, not sure what it is but it does it while idle and while driven, but stops after about 10 mins , ive changed all the tentioners, pulleys, alternator. This is the link. any ideas?
