Ok, got a very strange issue, the other day i gave it a little bit of beans, after coming off the gas, i had a pop out the rear of the exhaust and the car ran like it had just 5 cylinders, i gave it a quick rev and it was back to normal and driving lovely and was all the way up till parking it up last night. This morning id decided to get the laptop out and check error codes to see if there was anything on there, started the engine and the idle is lumpy as hell, i have no smoke coming out of the exhausts, the engine temp is fine, but there is a noticeable shake to the car now, took it for a quick spin to see if it would sort its self, but had to come home as it was …

Hey guys, I need some advice on whether or not I'm looking at a dead MAF sensor. I've been having erratic idle and stalling problems for the last 2 months and Today I have tried to record my problem via Conzult to show what my sensors are reading to help give me a clue as to whats wrong with my Z. In the last few days my Z has been stalling constantly when at low revs. It also has a hard time starting in the mornings when the engine is cold. I took this initial video of the cars start up routine so you can see what I'm talking about. Now with Conzult, I needed to press on the accelerator to stop the car from stalling a few times. My currently th…

Hi everyone, I have remembered or should I say realised that my Z is most definitely......... NOT my Front wheel drive SAAB 9-5 Aero estate ...... It is a rear wheel drive (I want to go sideways) devil in disguise........ I keep making the mistake of forgetting which car I am driving and pulling away a bit toooooo quickly for the road and traction to handle....... basically sideways (unintentionally)....... I had edged out in traffic the other day and went to pull away when some boy racer moron doing about 50 in a 30 with his modified corsa nearly took out the side of me..... he slammed on the brakes and I floored it out of the way.... Unfortunately I ended up sidew…

I love Lancaster Classic Car Insurance!!!!! I just received a call back from them in regards to insuring both our Zed's the LWB and SWB. My LWB has had to go to the underwriters as I have declared all mods, but the guy thinks it will not be much more than the SWB, but the shorty at the moment is standard but for it's wheels, and I got it on a classic policy with 3000 mile limit (more than enough) agreed valuation of £5,500 for the grand sum of £150.10!!! Brilliant, well happy. So give Lancaster a try when renewing your policies.

Guys as we all know the GTO boys have always looked at our cars with envy :) Anyway there are some good guys in their community and I have been discussing ten of the best with a few of them and I have challenged them to a team competition. Yes there will be some big power cars but mostly it will be normal guys with a few mods looking to have a bit of fun. We are thinking a maximum of 8 entries per team to count to the points and we feel that to help it work we will allow Saturday times to count on the 1/4 and top speed run. This means if you only want to do boot camp you will still be part of the team (not handling as the course changes each day). We are also thi…

Hi, been using the new method of adding parts for sale, and noticed a quirk, when you add an attachment, or get an error in posting, when you go back to your post, some of the selection you have made (delivery, listing length..) have reset. Most annoying. is this known? if not add this to your bug list. Regards rich

Hi guys,5 years ago i got new splitfire spark plugs filled on my 300zx tt,i did less than 1,000 miles on the spark plugs. The car has been sitting for over 4 years and i removed the plugs today and seen some carbon on a few of them. When removing them today i noticed 3 of the 6 plugs werent even tight not even hand tight.I was just wondering should i change them?and if so i was looking at these http://www.ebay.ie/itm/6-x-Denso-TT-Spark-Plug-Nissan-300-ZX-3-0-Twin-Turbo-Coupe-Z32-1990-1995-/330725463811?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4d00c61703 Thanks guys

I personally haven't run a quarter mile before, I've looked at those various events and Rwyb Sundays, which are obviously the easiest way to get a go at it. However, I'm guessing from previous pics etc it's damn busy, getting 3/4 runs a day, that sounds boring. One fat long traffic jam. So what's the deal? Is it always that bad? Is there a quiet time or a way we could get a few of us together on a weekday for a zed only session? Also it says that if your expecting to run +110 mph passes you need a helmet? I'm assuming that it would be wise as that is potentially possible?

Well guys, I have managed to secure a good deal to get the sill repairs done and have that issue put to bed. Ive noticed driving her that the odometer and trip isn't going up. The previous owner said when he brought it to the mot last Friday morning the speedo stopped working. he turned the car off and restarted it and all ok. It has had a black box fitted behind the clocks for the kmh to mph conversion he said! Is this an easy fix or what's gone on it. Thanks Derek

Hi All, in the North East and Yorkshire we have a meet arranged at York Raceway. There will be plenty of opportunity to get a good few runs under your belt. Its not as busy as the pod etc so should be a great environment for practice. we have changed the date as they had a clash of dates with their race cars so this will give is a chance to get a fair few runs in. we can camp there the night before if required. Ive not posted this in the North East Section as I feel there might be a fair few others who would like to come along.. There will be a trophy for the winner of our group as well... Let me know if youre interested so I can track numbe…

Hi all,i am having problems with the installation of my timing belt,i am fitting a gates timing belt all the cam notches are lining up with the belt markes but the crank mark is one belt notch out, should i turn the cams so the the notch lines up with the crank mark? Also my tensioner is seriously tight even with the 6 mm bolt that pushes back the tensioner piston i loosened the 3 bolts on the tensioner to get the belt on and still the tensioner has only 1mm of clearance instead of the 3.5-5.2 recommended clearance.Has anyone had this problem before, never seen a car so difficult to change the t-belt like the 300zx.

going over my new 300z and really admiring it and how clean she was. Noticed a bit of surface rust on the rear cill near the bottom so thought Id get a bit of G3 and clean it off................... then came the gut wrenching sight :scared:........................... filler and loads of it and not even shaped correctly, then I noticed it wasn't even stonechipped on that side before he painted it. Spoke to the guy I bought her off and he insists he paid £400 3 years ago for the repair and the guy told him he had cut out the rust and plated it.. he must have used a bean can if its gone that fast........ great finish to weekend. time to reconsider these cars..... :thu…

I've had the roof off the zed a couple of times this week and noticed that 60mph is pretty much the most I can go without the buffeting blowing my ear drums to bits, don't remember my last zed being like that. It's a 1996 model and doesn't have the pop up deflectors fitted, do these make that much difference?? Why did nissan drop them if so?
