Just finallt managed to acquire a Z on import - 94 model, NA. very nice, though not got to do any serious driiving in it yet. It has something of a transmission problem though - a rear end vibration which occurs over 35mpg. I have no idea whats causing it and wondered if anyone here might have a clue. Its not the gerabox, nor the back diff according to the garage - next thing to look at is prop-shaft balancing (I had a problem wth this on my old Datsun and it feels similar). Any advice appreciated, cheers, -bat.

Ok so you all now about the big power engine rebuild i'm doing on my SILVER zed blah blah blah. I was cruising in my red zed last night after having done a caliper seal kit (huge difference by the way!). after a little thrashing the aire con went strangely cold! Parked up outside the house and sure enough, temp gauge started to rise and hissing for the engine bay. FFS took one zed off the road and now this one looks like its going too! one of the little water pipes under the inlet manifold collector had split. so spen the whole of today (sunday) pulling the intake manifold collector off and replacing all the water pipes etc and decided to clean the throt…

got a problem with the boot lid. Its loose. The boot pull doesnt work, well it does if you pull it and lift. Anyway, its annoying. Ive removed the trim piece covering the catch and there are 3 bolts holding it in i think. Anyway only one is height adjustable. So I loosen it, push the mechanism right down as low as it will go. tighten it back up to the point where it starts to strip the thread off the bolt. I close the boot lid and it goes loose again right away. So how to fix it? Thanx

Don't suppose any of the guys (or gals) who break cars have any S/H tuning bits? I am looking for blow off valves, turbo timer and (if pos.) electronic boost controller. Just a thought.

Well - decided to take the car to be MOTed yesterday. It's due in the end of May but I thought I'd get a head start. I've been to this small garage twice before now for my Rover and he seemed ok. Took the Z - for the first 5 minutes he proceded to ask me "why I had bought a piece of shit like that" and how shit he thought they were. I thought, thats rich coming from a Renault Espace driver. Anyway, got my justice when he headed butted my front tyre after slipping on the tyre shine spray. I nearly pissed myself but thought better of it incase he failed me on something silly. Anyway, it did fail on 2 things. 1 was a worn "Pre Load Rubber". Haven't checke…

Alas unable to afford the insurance for both the Jag and the Z. Just had the renewale notice from Tesco and it stated the car had no mods. I queried this with the little boy on the phone and he said that I had been driving the car illegally for the past year as I had not disclosed the mods. I was fucking mad with him because I queried the same thing last year when the policy arrived and was told that the mods I had made no difference as I had not fitted them myself. Anyway they now want £1200 for a years protected full no claims as opposed to £780 I paid last year. Compare this to the £265 I pay fully comp for my 4 litre Jag and you will see the reason why I have told the…

Just been caught speeding on the M11. Bastards measured from shadow under one bridge to next bridge and worked out at average of 100.1mph. Just 0.1 over enough to be banned. My first offence and i'm going to court. Any ways of getting away with disqualification would be grateful. Might have to sell the beloved z.

hey everyone, i've just got back from my first santa pod experience. would have been quality if it wernt so damn cold. or if i had a car to race with. there were probably more zx's there than any other group of cars , about 5 0r 6 i think, a load of 200sx's and a couple of skyline's evo's were the quickest cars, although a R33 skyline ran 12.5 the zx's seemed a bit slow, kept running in the 15's region - i think basically all the 4*4 cars were the best. GT4's were all good, every time running high 13's, there was one pulsar gtir and that was pretty good 13.31!! i think the best ZX was a black one, with number plate ??? SGT i think, that was real …

i am going to look at a '90 TT manual tomorrow. The mileage is 120k, the car is a uk model, leather..blah blah blah. Does anyone know of anything in particular that i should look out for with the car at this mileage. i used to own a rover V8 and this sort of mileage means nothing for an engine of that size, but for the nissans i am not so sure when factoring in turbo useage. Any tips or comments are welcome. cheers Steve

I do have picture if anybody thinks they know what I'm on about... cheerz

I have recently put a deposit down on a 91 TT manual which is being imported from japan. I have been reading the forums and came across the issue that the imports can be a problem to insure. I am 33 and have full no-claims. i had already contacted norwich union and they gave me a quote of about 600-700 for fully comp. however i never thought of saying about it being an import. can anyone advise? or say where they get there insurance from if they own an import? cheers Steve

Glenn...oiiiiiiiii noooooooooooo, don't do it mate! Kids don't fit in the back anymore an' all that pavlova! What are you doing my friend? I've seen a GTO with a baby seat in the back, and today? Ohhh man the icing on the cake as to why you should never sacrifice the one thing in life that you TRULY love and worship with all your heart! Pulled up at Tesco and the most gorgeous car, Aston Martin Vantage DB-7! Now firstly answer me this? How the fuck, fuck, fuck can motoring journalists compare that to the Jag XK-8??? What the fuck do they see that I don't??? Beggers me beyond belief! Anyway, Mrs T says "park next to it!" and I'm like "yeah right!" in me sc…
