Can I just point something out here, loads of guys I've spoken to with Autos go on about how hot the transmission tunnel gets inside the car! I noticed this when I first got the car, but I have to say I think this is a red herring. Since having the Autobox rebuilt I noticed that if the A/C is set to a low temp. the transmission tunnel stays frostey. But if you up the temp. up to nice and cosey the carpet round the tranny tunnel gets errrrrr, well rather warm to say the least! I reckon it's a heating vent causing the warm up of the carpet and nowt to do with the Auto box at all! LOL IMHO ------------------ [This message has been edited…

Auto box has just gone. Again. Only 700 miles after it was rebuilt. This time it wont shift into 3rd. Still, the company who did it have been great about it and have the car back (limped half way round the m25 at 50 / 4000rpm in 2nd - painful - to get it there) to fix now. Should be able to pick it up on Sat am. Apparently there is probably a bit of muck lodged in one of the vales (prolly from an incomplete flush after my box fell apart two weeks ago) so they are replacing the whole valve body. Would bitch about the company but they did a hell of a rush build on the box and I didn't give them a chance to do a full test run. Still, arse .

Hi! I've just reinstalled my TT engine after having it out for some major surgery. I've hit one snag that i'm not sure about.... I let the engine get up to temperature, and then rev it a little, the boost gauge (standard nissan crap) will move a little to the right showing small amount of positive boost, then will swing back halfway to the left before settling back at zero again. This is done when the car is stationary, I don't want to drive it until i'm sure! Is this normal, I honestly can't remember as i've not driven the car in approx 6 months! Could it be in safety boost, or possibly a leak in the intake system somewhere? I get a 55, all clea…

On the way down the motorway this morning the speedo needle on my 1991 j-spec 300zxtt started to bounce from the 65/70mph I was going down to 0 and back up again. It seemed to stop after a while but when I came off the motorway to a left turn the speedo needle droppde to 0 and stayed there and the steering got VERY heavy. I am thinking that this is a problem with the wiring to the "de-limiter" or the de-limiter has failed. Anyone got any knowledge on this matter? As an aside, WOW is the car heavy to turn without power steering!!! ------------------ Z first and anything else is secondary! John Newcomb (NukeEm) www.geocities.com/jn300zxtt

I got my tyres tracked at Thistlethwaite Tyres in Bolton. 4 wheel tracking and adjustment for £33. Not bad, this also included a camber check too. They must check the tracking properly, IE loosen the track rod ends on both sides, un like some places who just do one side and often makes your steering wheel lob sided. Dont know what they are like for tyres but some one was having some put on as I arrived. And this place has a great gimmik that I hope catches on with other places. Get this, they put the wheel nuts on using, a TORQUE WRENCH. WOW!!!!!!!!!! How many places do that now a days. Any way. Now my tracking is done, nice print out of all the values, what they sh…

I have seen some aftermarket ones with built in indicators ala mercedes style, that are alledgedly universal, just how universal they are remains to be seen. Also has anybody fitted the Veilside M3 style mirrors and are they agro to fit? Cheers, Mark
