I'm Still struggling with my beemer, have been for some time! See what you think of this. I set the timing on No1 to 25deg BTDC at 2900 rpm as per book, easy off and it idles reaaly bad, timing is now about 10deg after TDC. Anyway i disconnet the advance vacuum and it about right now. About 28deg at 2900 and 13deg at 900rpm However there is more, much more. While it is idling really badly I try unplugging a spark lead to see if a cylinder is out, take No1 off and makes absolutely no difference, take No2 lead off, still no difference in engine note what so ever. Both 1 and 2 out!!! So i pull No 3, now it judders like a bitch, put it back on, pu…

This BREATHER KIT !!!, from looking at said item & asking a few of for your comments. It appears to be, one 1 way valve (operating under 0.3 psi), & 1 angled gause oil catch filter in two plastic surrounds. And a pipe or two, of 8mm ish i/d. I've also waited a week or SO! for it to arrive as most. But it recently accoured to me that the 'plasma' & oxy-acetaline systems i use every day, are spookily similar. But in brass not plastic. Anything you can add to the requirements needed would be thanked wholesomely, before i fit my own kit in about a week. harve

Got my car insured with Direct Line about a month ago and they said that they insured import cars the same as uk spec cars. I checked this 3 times on seperate phone calls and all said the same. But when the certificate came through it didn't mention anything about an import, so i thought i should just write it on to make sure. Now the gits write back and say they want another 102 quid. So you guys insured with them aswell might just want to check (or not as the case maybe).

My computer is slowing down, and I am getting a message saying can't display picture not enough memory free, Sometimes webpages time out as well. Is it time to ditch it or if I delete a load of old crud on the hard drive will it speed up, were do I find the crud to delete, apart from the Thai Ladyboy Carnival Download Files, which were planted on the Puta by aliens, Your Honour! FFS!! When's it gonna end?? Just to put you in the picture, I need a new main shaft for my manual gearbox. However, the shaft which is "the only one" Nissan can supply, has an incorrect fitment. The ring which is supposed to fit on the end is the *same* as my original ones!! - And does not fit the end of the *new* main shaft! My Nissan main dealers answer (from headoffice) is to replace *everything* back as far as the first set of bearings on the counter shaft!! (Which will cost 1029 quid!!) Anyway - Nissan UK says "We don't know anything about pre-92 Nissans as Nissan UK didnt startup until 1992", "you'll have to contact Nissan Japan".... ..so here's …

Can I just point something out here, loads of guys I've spoken to with Autos go on about how hot the transmission tunnel gets inside the car! I noticed this when I first got the car, but I have to say I think this is a red herring. Since having the Autobox rebuilt I noticed that if the A/C is set to a low temp. the transmission tunnel stays frostey. But if you up the temp. up to nice and cosey the carpet round the tranny tunnel gets errrrrr, well rather warm to say the least! I reckon it's a heating vent causing the warm up of the carpet and nowt to do with the Auto box at all! LOL IMHO ------------------ [This message has been edited…

Auto box has just gone. Again. Only 700 miles after it was rebuilt. This time it wont shift into 3rd. Still, the company who did it have been great about it and have the car back (limped half way round the m25 at 50 / 4000rpm in 2nd - painful - to get it there) to fix now. Should be able to pick it up on Sat am. Apparently there is probably a bit of muck lodged in one of the vales (prolly from an incomplete flush after my box fell apart two weeks ago) so they are replacing the whole valve body. Would bitch about the company but they did a hell of a rush build on the box and I didn't give them a chance to do a full test run. Still, arse .

Hi! I've just reinstalled my TT engine after having it out for some major surgery. I've hit one snag that i'm not sure about.... I let the engine get up to temperature, and then rev it a little, the boost gauge (standard nissan crap) will move a little to the right showing small amount of positive boost, then will swing back halfway to the left before settling back at zero again. This is done when the car is stationary, I don't want to drive it until i'm sure! Is this normal, I honestly can't remember as i've not driven the car in approx 6 months! Could it be in safety boost, or possibly a leak in the intake system somewhere? I get a 55, all clea…
