I have a 1990 modified Twin Turbo, and I have just discovered a couple of components under the trim in the passenger foot-well that i did not know about. They are an HKS Automatic Line Oil Pressure Controller, and a Project M ECU. Can anybody enlighten me as to what they do,and how they improve my car's performance?

I have put in 0.5mm/hg into the unit convertor and it returns 0.00965psi. My car runs at max boost 0.5mm/hg on my GReddy boost gauge which I have no reason to doubt This sound right for a stock boost zed? Thanks Glen

Hi all, Just got my head off and cleaning up the faces, you wouldn't believe how relieved I was to see a shagged head gasket when the head came off. Anyway what do you lot think to using gasket sealer on the head gasket for that extra bit of grip? And if it's worth doing which one? Cheers, Jezz.

Alternator sorted - loose connection on battery feed back wire, so it cooked itself, For me it was Dismantle & replace 6mm bolt terminal......BUT. As the alternator is an open cage variety - the crap & bits in the casing & around the armature was unbelieveable. flies, feathers, dust, carbon & a shreaded wrapper off something! Now its 14+ volts again, so if yours isn't? its worth a look & 30 seconds with an air line to clean it before you have to go to the remove & swear stage. Cos i had to 'make' a long bent 15mm spanner to reach the back nut on it. harve ------------------

well here goes. sounded a little tappetey today not loud but definatly making some noise. tonight i lift bonnet grab throttle cable and listen,at about 2000 rpm v.loud noise sounds like there is somthing loose internally. runs v.smooth from 3000rpm upwards. then i remove the oil filler cap, big hiss for a few seconds then revs drop to about 600rpm. now i have never had that in there before. i then replace cap and revs rise to 850rpm. what do you think. any one else had this? please only reply if you genuinely think you know whats wrong. cheers "T"........

Hi, Just thought I would keep you posted on experiments at the Southern Californian College of the Z. I pulled off the Rubber trim at the top of the bulkhead from the driver side, to a piece of wiring loom that enters the bulkhead. I then proceeded to empty a years worth of rain in 20 seconds onto the windscreen and none of it entered the engine bay. Removing that rubber trim must create a least 10 square inches of ventilation, pretty valuable I would have thought. Also what does the rubber trim on the underside of the bonnet at the front do, has anybody any ideas? The rubber trim on the next Twin Turbo I get is going, did I mention I've got a NA con…

I picked up on this from threads like http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/ubbforum/Forum6/HTML/000391.html and the fact that the bloke who put the last set of tyres on saidc "something's wrong - you've got uneven wear" Leigh gave me a useful place (ProTyres in Slough) so I am off to get the full monty alignment check done. I have found settings for camber, caster, kingpin inclination, toe-in, tie-rod length & turning angle for front wheels (pages FA-9 and FA-10, plus FA-24 and FA-25. Also Rear Wheel runout, camber, toe-in (RA-6, RA-7, RA-34, RA-35) And lastly a bunch of stuff about HICAS on ST-97 and ST-98. Three questions: a) which are the im…

Here is a pic of the 05 Lambo. Notice it doesn't have the gullwing doors anymore. It's rumored to have around 800 bhp and be AWD. Pic shows that they just completed a 20000 km endurance run. The test drivers name is Dante haaapppaaaareeently! ------------------

Hi. Not being a compter wizard i have a problem. Have recentlty purchased a hp omnibook 500 second hand. But it has a password stopping me getting to the bios. Someone has told me to take the battery out of the motherboard for 10 secs and put it back. Will this wipe everything off the hard drive? Seems a bit drastic if it does. Ideas anyone. Cheers.

I've just bought a Fairlady Z 1991 model. Driving it from Glasgow to Slough (near Heathrow Airport) I was doing 140 Km/h (Jap import) when the box made a howling noise for about three or four seconds, and then seemed to be okay again. However, I looked at the rev counter and found I was doing about 5000 rpm at that speed (about 95 mph?). I didn't think this was right, so I stopped at Windermere services, and found, when I tried to park the car, that I had no reverse gear, and when shifting into reverse, there was a horrible noise from the box; forward gears seemed to work though. From then on, it was a long ride home in ana RAC recovery truck!!!! I won't go into details …

Hi Just spoke to my mechanic and he has replaced a couple of hoses where he thought the water leak was coming from, unfortunately the car is still leaking He mentioned the leak was somewhere between the back of the engine and the bulkhead. Could anyone shed any light on this please. Many thanks Martin ------------------
