Limiters????

I've been reading some of the tech questions since joining the "club," and I get the impression that imported cars have some kind of speed limiter on them. Is this true? And if so, what do I do to get rid of this unwanted feature? Also, how easy is it to change the speedo to MPH? Finally, where in my area do I go for performance parts. I live in Slough, which, for those who don't know, is just on the western edge of London. I'm new to the 300ZX, and want to know where I can get real performance parts, not "go faster" stripes!!!

Any helpful advise would be most welcome.

Cheers to all,

Rob.

Glen I love you mate, you're such a neutral dude, not like the Anti-Christ SE brigade! REZPECT fella! wink.gif

Right, getting back to what you asked matey, I would say that if you're serious about performance upgrade the ECU to remove the limiter. Some companies will offer you a de-limiter but IMHO(in my humble opinion) they are SHITE!

Cause more trouble that it's worth. Phone SE-Nissan on the info that Glenski has provided and ask them. You will need to have them socket the ECU for you and then it's upto you entirely where you go from there. JWT is a good, safe chip but SE do their own chips aswell.

Errrrr, Johnny, is the best guy to speak to about all things Z and Luke Borg at the Z Centre...www.zcentre.co.uk...what those two don't know about our cars isn't worth it! Class geezers the pair of them.

P.S. JeffTT is a sound guy also for cambelts and all things to be honest, see his website for details. DO NOT GO TO NISSAN MAIN DEALER! Trust me! wink.gif

What's shite about them? I've got one on my car and never had a problem. If you're talking about a kph to mph convertor (which effectively derestricts at the same time), I'd agree, but the SLD (Speed Limit Defencer) seems to work fine.

I replaced my gauges with UK spec ones which takes care of the conversion.
