Last night at about 1:00 at night I was coming home where suddenly this impreza pulls behind me.

 

We were at a red light and I could hear his blow offs vavles screaming waitting for me to make a move.

 

Green light ON and I hit it. He follows me but he cant passes me. I am gaining distance and we reach another red light. Same think again

we both hit it and still he cant passes me.

 

I am driving straight to the place where i made my test drive (in a 550 meter highway) and I let him come next to me going at about 30Km and we both hit it. I had my gear at Pos 1 (cause its AUTO) and I am about half car ahead and then change to D. That was it. By the end of the street I was about 15/20 cars ahead. At one point i thought he abandoned the race. But No...He stills follows me. And now I am turning back (street its a bit downhill). I let him come next to me and hit it again. This time it was even worst. I left like he was standing still. But I was very unlucky cause my gear didnt change to 3rd (for some reason) so he passes me.

 

I make him signal with my lights to stop and so he did. I told him that my gearbox didnt change to 3rd. He is very furious. And he is asking to go back again and race from still.

I said that you are 4-wheel drive and I am rear. Lets roll at about 40 and then hit it.

He refuses while we are both going at 2/3 Km speed and I said to him ok. Hit it. And so he did. Haha...He didnt even manage to gain not even an inch. I got ahead immidietly and then as soon as I put D he gets fucked. Same result 20 cars lenght. I went to the end and I was waitting for him to come.

 

At the end he said. "Well yours is a 3000cc mine is not" You stupid idiot you should have known before you ask for a race. Not once but 3 times. I ask him what mods he has and he said. "Well not many". Hey, many or not you got your ass kicked.

 

If it was a 1/4 of a mile I would have had him 10 cars minimum.

 

Proud of my car.

 

Still watting that race with the STI.

 

P.S Now its the W2C rally in Cyprus and all the teams are about 5 minutes from my house. Cool this Friday I am gonne see some good race

Get the Jeep and come to Limassol. I am out every night so you will see my Z parked somewhere near clubs and bars. Its a silver one with full body kit (WingWest One).

 

 

yeah i might go down to Limmasol one day, its been a few years since i was last in cyprus, best place in the world though

 

are they strict on renting vehcles out there? I heard you had to be 23 to rent a jeep, Im 20 but I reckon I can wangle a jeep out of someone :O) "HEY no problem"

a kill is still a kill though m8 but dont be disheartened im sure the next time ure down we can have a nice vid again.....my limiter will stay in place until i have the coin to buy all the goodies i need in one hit and that way i'll not always be hankering for one more goody to get that extra bit of oooooommmpppffffff until then i'll just use sound waves and my good looking self to wow the crowds and ladies lol

I agree, I destroyed a Mclaren F1 once in the Westie coming off a roundabout onto a motorway slip road, I must have caught him half asleep but when I hit a wall of air when I joined the motorway he rocketed past. I wouldn't claim that as a kill although it amused me at the time

I've got to agree with Macca about the race with the green onion,I would'nt let him give it the whole nine yards, as i thought something was wrong. Once the pipe was back on sssssshhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiit that little tomato kicks ass!!!!!!

That's the trouble with a lot of "Kill stories", you dont know how hard the other driver is trying..or if he's even trying at all.

Obviously in Nitropower's case it was a genuine race!

 

i have had a go with a few of these now, and two new shape STi's very recently, (1) from a rolling start of about 40mph, and (2) from a rolling start of about 2 or 3 mph. this might have been a type RA according to the owner, but i didn't get much chance to look over it and verify

 

(1) was fairly even, although i was catching up after about 70 or so

 

(2) was almost identical up to about 90, when we both slowed so i could swap lanes

 

you will HAVE to have a boost upgrade to BEAT these at low speed starts, medium speed starts and high speed runs they have no chance because that is what the Z is best at

 

they have almost identical power output as standard, are lighter, and have 4wd, so anyone who thinks they can kill one from standing start is delusional, imho

 

non STi are easier pickings

I was boosting 16.2 PSI.

 

For some reason my boost controller is not doing what I set it up for (14.5 PSI)

 

 

 

I had a race with a white type RA with a HKS exhaust last week, they are very fast cars, but not as quick as me Z .

From 40mph (the speed the race started) up to about 80mph, he stayed about 3 car lengths behind me, but from 80 up the 300 blew him off the road, if it wasn't for me messing up the chamge into 4th he wouldn't have seen which direction I went!, as it was, I spent a good four seconds trying to engage 4th (sticky synchro) giving him time to catch back up to me, but once 4th was engaged, I began pulling away from him all over again.

100% mate 2wd is no match for 4wd from a standing start .

Which one have you got Nitro? Some have actual limiters and others just alarms. I know a Supra guy recently who blew his motor coz he thought the upper boost limit he'd set on the controller was where the boost would stop increasing! Well it didn't, just alarmed and carried on increasing boost which he wasn't aware of as he thought he was safe. Well over time, loads of overboosting later and BANG!!!

I have a nasty feelin on a stock Setup this is caused by the Stock Boost jets ! - basically the Stock wastegate hoses have jets in then which is used to raise the natural boost of the vaccum system to 9psi from about 7psi.

 

If you dont replace the full lenght of piping from the turbo upwards then you will still have them in the system.

 

I haven't the time to fully think abuot this now - and im sure im overlooking something about the way the EVC's work on the Z but im busy at the mo - Haven't heard the americans complain about this yet but i can't see why it wouldn't be the case of the top of my head.

 

And flash boost is always a problem - I believe the AVC-r also has a diaphram problem in one of the actuators or something that can cause over boost problems - Mail Henri for more details on this.
