I'm hoping that someone might have already solved this potential problem. I'd like to fit a Turbo Timer, but, and here's the problem, I have a Cobra alarm fitted that I have upgraded to total closure. So, there are 2 problems as I see it: 1. Locking the car from the 'blipper' obviously arms the alarm. How can this work if the engine is still running on the timer. 2. The Cobra has a passive immobiliser, i.e. It sets itself after about a minute and a half. What will happen if the TT is running? Hope someone can help. Tim PS: Has anyone considered the Audi system of running a small additional oil pump to 'cool' the turbos after switching t…

Not wishing to start another "SE is best" row but i had one of their MAXFLOW twin airfilter jobbies put onto my car back in December 2000. Deciding to give my ZED some TLC i cleaned it top to toe on Saturday and took off the Z badge panel in between the headlights to clean all round it.I was expecting to be in stunned at the delights of the SE NISSAN MAXFLOW airfilter system and what did i find was....Wait for it.....Wait..... two paper cylindrical air filters pushed...YES PUSHED onto the W shaped twin pipe unit made by SE. There was no airtight seal between the filters and the plastic W pipe and to top it all off the filters were not even securely attached to the W …

Will the later PTU plug straight into where the earlier one came out, or does the wiring have to be altered. I have a UK 1993 twin turbo auto. I've seen a later one for sale on the web at Courtesy Nissan of Texas for $180.

Guys, I could really do with some help here. About a month back my auto box gave out. I was getting drive for a few seconds after startup, then it dropped out and wouldn't engage with any gear selection. It appears one or more of the clutches had disintegrated and clogged up the tranny oil filter (falling away when the engine was switched off). I spoke to several garages about this and they agreed (independantly) that it is a fairly common problem and a soft rebuild was about the only option. After some consideration I took my car to Mister Transmission in Charlton and they appeared to do a good job for £1500. However, within about 500 miles it lost 3rd gear. Mi…

It is normal for the clutch pedal to go heavy when it is depressed a few times when the car is turned off or is it an indication that there is air in the system?

took my zed in for a cambelt change and minor service to the nissan main dealer, as i have been unable to find a specialist here in the York/Hull area. the day after picking the car up i had a coolant leak and the RAC guy said they had forgotten to place some hose clips on. so took it back to nissan and they said they would re-do the hoses and check all others. Well i drove 30 miles up the road and thought hhmmm.. the temp gauge is just above the halfway mark thats a bit odd. Pulled over and there was blooms of white smoke coming out of one of the exhausts. Stopped the engine and after 30min opened up the radiator cap to find there was no coolant! so the car is back…

Just been thinking (ohhherrr) anybody thinks about this idea, Cutting the tension rod bush housing off, then machining a thread maybe M16 or M20 depending on diameter of the shaft, then screwing a rod end bearing on female type to suit......then spacing the bearing in the middle of the lower arm with ally spacers or something alike..... What do you thinks peeps... cheers Jon...

When you fit a boost controller you disconnect the stock boost solenoids allowing the controller to dump the pressure. This disables safety boost control by the ECU. If you are running with boost jets the stock solenoids are still connected and allow the ECU to put the car in safety mode if detonation etc are detected? Is this correct?

Jesus i hope this doesn't start a war...... Carrying on from my previous post about problems getting a chip done at SE, i promised to give an update and my findings of the chip, so is it any good ????? I hate to say this, but yes it is..... better than the JWT i had, how much, depends on the mods you have i reckon, BUT the chip could be gold plated and give me 1000bhp, all the shine and glory off it is wiped away by my dealings with them, yes they came through in the end, but christ ! what a job to get there. On from the previous thread, my ecu had been there 10 days, i phoned up for progress and was told it would be in the post that day (friday), by monday aftern…
