Guys, Guys, I think you've all missed the point about Ferrari. Rubens has just signed another two year deal as number 2 in the team. This means that he will never be allowed to beat the number 1 driver unless no.1 drops out, or is in no position to benifit from no.2s help. But this is no suprise. Ferrari have enployed these tactics since they started racing in the '50s. It's not fair, but shit happens frown.gif

Anyway F1 is shit, give me Le Mans anyday. Proper racing there.

Many regards

Robert

Yes Rob but do we all know what happened to the last Ferrari Number2 when Schumacher dropped out.

Who remembers all the fiasco with Irvine when Schumacher broke his leg? Irvine would have won the world Championship it it wasnt for wheels going missing, wheels coming off. You cant tell me that wasnt fixed. Course it was. It would be very embarassing if their £20,000,000 a year driver who was paid that much to give Ferrari there first world drivers champion in god knows how many years, doesnt deliver but in fact there £5,000,000 a year driver who really is there to fill numbers, does bring the championship home. It was fixed 100%

Ay bud, I agree and I back down, I don't watch WRC that intensively but I know what you are saying mate.

Just a shame that paying fans who go to watch a race have to put up with this sort of thing....shame!

Good point Stuart, I'd forgotten about that lot with Irvine.

There's too much politics at Ferrari for my liking. Seems to take the edge off what really is a good bunch of blokes. Roll on 2004 when everybody's contract expires. I bet they will all be off like a shot!

It's only what McClaren were doing a couple of years back to poor old Coulthard wink.gif and it's always gone on to a certain extent.F1 isn't really a sport, it's a money making business. And yes..it happens even more in WRC!

I used to think the wrestling on "World Of Sport" back in the '70s was genuine too! wink.gifAnother illusion shattered!

JEZ

p.s. I don't bother watching F1 or wrestling anymore, but still like the rallying. smile.gif

In that order! Close racing, loads of action and leader changes, more enthusiam from the commentary team. Damnit, other than it being glamorous, F1 is a poor follower against all the other great forms of motorsport getting onto Tv nowadays. And this doesn't even try to include superbikes, etc.

Yours a disappointed UK Tafosi.

If you want enteratinment for racing. Watch the Superbikes. Not very often some one shoots off in first, if they do there is always about 3-4 people fighting for 2nd.

Really good racing

Stuart

Just picked this up on the Autosport website - very nicely put I think !

"We may as well all give up watching as there is no excitement in spending two hours to reach a foregone conclusion, especially if you pay £12 to watch the Sky F1 interactive coverage. Perhaps they could make it really interactive and we could choose our own winner, just like Ferrari do!"

John already mentioned the Japanese GT championship - anyone been following this on Eurosport? I watched the series preview, where they showed all the highlight from last your and it looked fantastic - but after that the first race was a bit of a let down in terms of action, and they only show a half-hour programme so you don't get the same level of involvement like when watching a full race. After that, I've never remembered to watch another! Has it got better?

Fantastic looking cars though. All those racing-spec Skylines, Supras and NSX's you see in GT3 are lifted straight out of this championship smile.gif Pity the racing-spec Fairlady has had it's day over in Japland though frown.gif

If you want to see some good racing, I suggest watching or Videoing the Australian Touring car series. Its on late but it is exciting, full of Overtaking moves, and no team orders. Also large flames from V8 side exhausts.

Looking into getting a V8 HSV :-)

Leigh.

I watched the whole thing from start to finish late last night! Have reminded myself why I gave up watching it when Hill retired!!!

What a piss take. Shoemaker deserved to be hissed and booed but at the end of the day he is not responsible for that sporting history farcical. That decision as he quite rightly said at the press conf. afterwards may have come from the main man himself! wink.gif
