Where's the best place to mount the solenoid for the Boost controller. I know it should be within three feet of the turbo's but I have also seen people mount it over by the hicas set-up. Where have you guys mounted yours ?

I'm looking to improve the bass in me car, so I've decided to get a sub. But I know next to nuffink about ice, except it makes ya drinks cold!! So.... Do I need to buy an amp to run a sub? Can I just buy any old sub, or do they have to be the same make as the head unit? WTF is an active subwoofer? How does it differ from a normal sub? If it helps, my head unit is a Sony Xplod one! All help and suggestions gratefully recieved.. Malibu:dance:

I am referbing my calliper and have striped it down, only problem is I have split the calliper not realising that I should not have split it. Acording to the online manual I should not have remaved the bolts holding it together. Have I done any serious damage to it by removing the bolts? Thanks.

I am sure some of ya have seen a Mines ECU in the For Sale forum. Any one got any experience with these and how do they vary from say just having a JWT or SE chip? I am looking for a mod like this so I can get an electronic boost controller and up the boost. I guess it would need to be remapped to go onto my Zed. One problem with it is the guy selling it comes from Australia, a bloody long way to go and have words if it doesn't work! Do you think it would be risky to go ahead and buy this? Many thanks, Justin:)

Hi Paul, Just going back to the RR day! Noticed they had a bit of trouble sorting your BHP/RWHP figures! Out of interest I know the Gtech meter you have gives you RWHP figures for your car, how did these two sets of figures differ!

I have recently changed engine of my z but when it deccelerates it stalls or it revs at idle from 200 rpm to 2000 rpm. My mechanic has found that there is no signal going from the ecu to the fuel pressure regulator. When the fuel pressure regulator is given power indepentenlty then the problems seems to stop. (power to it is given straight from the battery randomly). Any ideas why the ecu is not giving power to the fuel pressure regulator? the ecu was fine before engine change. help!!!

Hey guys, hope you can help me out here. I have a 300zx Twin Turbo which has a leak underneath where the tanny and motor/crankshaft meet. Now i am more than certain that it is my main seal that is causing the leak. But one question i have to ask is whether i can use the "ADDITIVE" to perhaps expand the rubber seal which can possibly stop the leaking. Please let me know whether that is advisable to use or not because replacing the seal is costing me an arm and a leg and possibly my nuts aswell depending on where i go to fix it. Thanks mates and cheers

Hi Guys Last couple of days I've experienced an alarming power loss under hard acceleration. It happens particularly in 3rd and 4th gear when you boot it to the floor (eg: overtaking). All of a sudden the revs drop and it feels like I've taken my foot off the gas, lose all boost etc.. Take foot off the gas then reapply, and everything seems back to normal   It doesn't happen all the time, but I've experienced it twice tonight! Any ideas? Cheerz Steve PS. This is not just a crap excuse for my rubbish RR results :p (although maybe it has something to do with it...)

One thing I will miss about my MR2 turbo when I sell it to get my Zed is the lovely comfy leather/alacantra. I have spent a lifetime trying to like tweed but it just isn't my bag and my ZX unfortunatly doesn't have the leather option so I was just wondering if I would be able to get some decent MR2 seats and put em in the Zed. Does anyone know if other seats will go in? I would just find some leather Zed ones bu the ones I have seen are all in crap condition. Any advice greatfully received. Justin.

Hello all, Could you guys tell me if the drivers door vent is a dummy, ie doesn't blow out air, or do I have some ducting missing on my car!! I've noticed, the door vent ducts to the end of the dash and thats it. There is a duct outlet at the centre tunnel, which blows air out like crazy, so I've got the feeling i'm missing a ducting peice running from this under the steering columb to the end of the dash!! Could be missing as taken out when someone was fitting immobiliser/alarm wiring etc... What do we think?? Paul N,

T'was 2 degrees this morning at 6.45 am. Started car up, sat there for the usual minute or so and began my shitty journey to work. Two miles down the road, ended up behind a R reg Merc going very slowly, when I was hit with this really strong smell of petrol. Turned the blowers off and as the road straightened up, I gently went round him expecting that he was a smelly ******* and that the fumes would disappear.............................alas! So, pulled over a mile or so down the road and popped the hood. Round the petrol filter area there was a very strong smell of petrol so get the ole' screw driver out of the boot and gave the 5 clips that I could see a half turn…

Right from what I inderstand to get 370BHP you need an induction Kit, Exhaust, Boost upgrade and a chip. What PSI do you need to be running? What are the next stages from there on?
