His gauge might be goosed, or else his turbos are !

There are a few acceptable options for units of measurment here, BAR, PSI and that funny Japanese one that the stock gauges use!

Everyone will tell you, however, that even when working the stock gauges aren't telling you very good and shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I believe max stock boost is around 9PSI though if that helps

If the boost gauge doesn't go above zero then there is a significant possibility that one of his turbos has seized !

...and that would be a bad thing then Andy??

:(

+7 to -7 indicates his has an import I believe, only the UK models had +-14psi

the gauge should read negative when there is no boost, does it flap around and not go above zero?

Nope the needle dosent move above or below zero, the gauge is getting power though as i said earlier turn the power off and shoots off to the left, if it is a jap import whats the best way to tell??

thanks again

Hot hatches will consistently blow exhaust in his face if a turbo is seizec!

If his is going right then maybe the boost connection hascome off the sensor.

Your mates car is a jap import and the gauge is or suposed to show ,millimetres of mercury (Hg)x100,,,,,eg:- 700mm Hg =13.5 P.S.I.,,,,,,,->,,,,,so +7 =14psi on a UK guage ,,ok!!

Sounds like a Gauge / loose pipe some where,,,check the 0-60 acceleration time to see if there is engine problems,,i think in std form a z32 tt should do it in around 5.4 seconds.

See link provided two back....
