...third MOT coming up on Saturday and in subsequent MOT's they've always told me it's running rich - and take it to a Nissan dealer and get it sorted. They always give me a new MOT, so I've never bothered taking it to Nissan (don't like the idea of spending money). It regularly returns in excess of 30mpg (its an NA) so it can't be all that rich. Anyway, is there a simple method of reducing the fuel in the mix? Or should I just take out the air filters (ie increase the air) for the duration of the test - would that do it? ...and before I had the 2nd test I removed all of the AIV (never to be replaced) stuff and it still gave the same readings. Ideas w…

Ok, I like my cars......I have 2 MR2s at present, would like a Supra TT, but first I would like a 300z in my collection... I am torn between a TT or N/A 300z, I don't want a Z to race or to mod ( engine wise ) but just for the look of the car and because of what it is .....as such I am considering an N/A I have seen excellent examples of N/As for around the 3k / 4k mark...my question is what are they like performance wise ? Obviously they are a big heavy car, what kind of 0-60 / bhp figures are we talking in standard form ? I don't want it to be all go and no show...I can think of nothing worse than been whooped by a maxxer in a saxo  What kind o…

Hiya! Had my new radiator and hoses delivered today:) I got a set of red silicone hoses made by SFS(?) for £98 from Aldonautos, and a full metal replacement radiator from Overnight Radiator Company in New Jersey for $160 + $100 shipping (and the UK Government mugged me for £35 too! ) Anyway, is there anything I should be looking out for when I come to fit it? Any special way of bleeding the system, or problems to look out for? Mine is a 1991 Jap import Auto by the way (and yes I made sure I got the right rad for an auto) Any help much apreciated! :)

Which injector sizes are available for a 91 TT? I did a search, but can't seem to find the messages that tell you this, although I'm sure they are there somewhere. Was it 440, 550 or 555, 660, 720, 850? Or were some of these for later models only? Is it only around 850 that they affect drivability - and is this just because of less smoothness at low revs?

Bought my Zed about 2 months ago now. Had a few niggles and they have been sorted (with a lot of guidence from you guys/gals) but one problem remains... When applying lots of pedal she will go like a rocket, but on other occasions (more often than not) it definatley has a lot less power and has no real kick. Also when just applying a little bit of pedal it sounds as if the engine is doing quite a bit of work but not pulling much. Again this is intermitent.... I have tried all the usual cleaning of sensors, TB's etc. and the ecu diag returned 55. It is quite difficult to explain the problem and really need (beg)someone to give her a drive... …

a few months back one of my turbos blew quite badly while i was driving (pushing the car pretty hard), and when i came to a stop the car was miss firing pretty badly, causing the car to shake noticably. the revs would fall till the car would nearly stall, but then pick up again. this would continue for a few minutes, then the car would run pretty normally again (except for the rattling from the turbo!) since then the few times i have driven the car, it has seemed to fire properly on all cylinders (although it is a bit hard to tell when you cant push the car properly due to the damaged turbo). i asked the mechanic who is changing the turbos to check over th…

OK! With all the chat about turbos lately, I thought I would start off! I think the defining factors for most people are Cost and Driveability, i.e. Lag! So here are my choices with cost being the deciding factor initially! £1kish Turbos to replace the stock items with, Smithys with uprated seals! £2kish Pe1420's 500bhp on tap with nigh on stock lag £3kish JWT 535's what's the point, get 500BHP for a grand less with pe's £3kish PE1820's 600+BHP not proven yet, have yet to be fitted and proved with uprated manifolds! £4kish TD05-18G mega HP 600RWHP Laggy but you have to make the sacrifice for BHP eventually! What d'ya reckon?
