Going for a nice trip out to the lakes when a couple of bikers wanted some which i did but... Big plumes of blue smoke when accelerating hard...the only good thing is that the other biker nearly fell off his bike cos he couldnt see  Pulled over had a look and nothing, no smoke on idleing. Went out again and same again the harder i accelerate the more blue smoke. It still accelerated OK but the smoke screen it leaves behind cant be good. So come on experts how much is this one gonna cost me    Kirbz

I am trying to put in a amp & all the usual ICE stuff, and am bloody close to finishing, but at the moment I am stuck on how to get the power cable direct to the battery. At the moment I have it sitting under the glove box on the passenger side from the boot (then football started) and need to get it to the battery. Can anyone help? does anyone know a decent technique to remove the EGR valve and plug up the holes left? i've got the replacment instructions from the twin turbos of dallas site, but i want to remove them all together while i've got the engine out getting the turbos done. i was told theres a method using a 2p coin and some JB weld but dont know what the actual method is. any ideas? thanks, Ed

just had the MOT fail 'cause there's no rear fog on the car (Jap import) even though it passed it's previous MOT! I'm gonn'a fit a rear fog light, but wondered if there is such a thing as a standard illuminated fog switch? Ideally I would like to replace the none illuminated jap switch on the consol with one that is illuminated. Does the uk car have such a thing or anybody got/made one? Cheers

Is a turbo autobox same as n/a? I am trying to figure out if a gasket for the autobox oil pan for a 1991 turbo will fit a 1992 n/a. Also, are the import boxes different to the UK ones ? John

This seems to be a talking point at the moment, everyone seems to have there own ideas to which turbos are the best so what are?? There is a reason why i ask because i need to find out what garrett turbos are the best for the zed ie for BHP. I'm not promising anything but i might have sorted a deal out with garretts themselves to buy turbos off them cheap but i need exact model numbers etc for the zed because a a t25 or 27 comes in about 15 different models so i need more details and hopefully i can save a few people some money and of course get myself some dirty great big tubs:rofl: Kirbz

I have a 1990 non-turbo manual fairlady. When I start my car (from cold) no probs. Leaving her idling, after about 10 mins the revs and oil pressure will begin to drop. If I hit the accelerator, the revs drop down before going up. Sometimes stalls... once stalled it will not start again unless left for about 20 minutes, the starter motor just ticks over with absolutely no life :-\ Anyone know what I've broke? :D GaZ

just got all my heads back together and gave it a good whiles cranking to get the oil round the engine. When i put all the coil leads back it wont fire up:( it cranks fine, i hear the fuel pump go, it just doesnt fire at all! im not an expert on the engines ignition so its possible i may have a plug wrong somewhere, any ideas?

Just put 20GR's on the rear, it's difficult to see on the pic below, but do my handbrake shoes look low? Not sure how meaty they should be, but I reckon they are only 2mm at the mo. Also, when removing the discs, is there a way of making the ping/spring which holds the handbrake shoes in line(which was fused to the old disc) not pull though the metal that it's attached through, just for future ref. Here they are on anyway:  Dance Banana Dance! Ta. Matt.

Hi, as some of you already know I am awaiting delivery of my first Zed from Japan. I just have a question for all you 2+2 owners out there. Are the back seats really any use for a couple of passengers or am I restricted to giving lifts to people the size of Hobits! I am only 5ft9 myself so would not need the driver seat pushed too far back so should give em a bit more room in the back. Cheers, Justin.

C1397-51X90 Can anyone please tell me if this part number (for a transmission gasket) is listed as fitting a 1992 import n/a autobox sump ? (the one without a drain plug) Thanks John

I've been looking for a 300zx for a few weeks now...i've come across two non turbos, cheap..but one has a flatspot and often cuts out and the other starts fine but then "bogs down" and drops oil pressure, then cuts out if you come to a stop and is difficult to start....this is what i've been told..never seen cars yet as one is 230 miles away and the other is 300 miles away from me. Is this a common expensive problem?? Is it something sinister or just something simple? Any help/advice on what to watch out for would be much appreciated guys

Just bought set of Lexus Sport Alloys 18". Checked PCD, checked ET but never gave inner diameter a thought. Took back wheel off Z and found that the Lex won't fit, the centre's too small. Dunno how practical or economic it would be to have rebates cut or whether it's better to resell them. Will cost me £25 to join Lexus site to advertise 'em there.  Don't even really like them now I have 'em.

Dunno much about them other than they sound good and I want some :D (eventually  ) Would I need 300ZX specific ones, or are they all (the top Jap brands anyway) universal? And could I buy 2 x a single dump valve (eg from a single turbo car) and whack them both on, as long as they are the same? Cheers :) Pete

Frantically looking round for a cheap pair of front tyres.... Would like the same thread pattern as my Bridgstone SO2's if possible. Anybody heard of them, were quite resonably priced. Cheers, Dean.
