I guess that it's that grey thing held on with three bolts at the front of the nearside bank. Q is it ok to remove that to get at the connection or better to remove the pipes above it and pull the connector off with the cas in situ?

Saw a black / blue zed (reg BIG PEP)drive past my car in Hinckley a couple of times tonight (I was in the liton tree pub). If you hadnt been in a zed id of worried you were car theives!!! If it wasnt a forum member they should be soon as they must have seen the 300zx.co.uk stickers in the window, i drove round to find it but couldnt see it. So if your there show yourself!!!

Im gonna get a custom exhaust done when the car comes out the bodyshop. Im going to be de-catting it but im not sure about the cat sensors what do we do with them. Some have told me to cut them away and not bother with them. The car is standard but im looking to beef up the power to about 380bhp but no more later on the year (boost controller ,chip, air filter, and a few subtile mods for the engine here and there etc etc) What do i do with the cat sensors Also what size exhaust pipe should i use iv been told that serious powered turbo cars should have 3.5" but iv been told to get 3" which would be best suited for my car with the power that i want. I've been having a problem with my clutch for ages now, after driving throughout the day the biting point moves out towards you until it will start slipping. The next day it will be fine and again gets worse as the day goes on. First thing i did was to fit a nice RPS jobby of smithy's. Helped a little but problem still there. I read about a problem with the earlier master cylinders causing this so i got a new one from MJP. Again this made no difference at all. What could be causing this? It baffles me. Any loss of fluid would give difficulty changing gear not slipping. Ideas??

Anyone ever had their steering rack overhauled. Mine has lift in one side where the track rod end 'rod' comes out the rack as though the ball end is worn. Cheers John Crisp

I need a four wheel alignment on my car, can i take this anywhere and get it done or does the four wheel steering mean i need a specialist, also apparently my camber angles are all wrong, would this be put right with the wheel alignment:confused:

Yesterday I was thrashing around n my car and have a slight issue with a serious smell of oil and when I parked up smoke started to rise from out of the bonnet Now I reckon ive either got a slight leak or a big issue!!! your thoughts guys B

Changed front brake pads last week great! Old ones naff! I still have got wheel judder on braking!! Naff Naff! Going to change bushes with poly ones and should I do front discs as well? Think I get poly bushes from Z centre? & discs from Berks? My discs look okay.

She's done it again. Perfectly fine yesterday, starts on the first revolution. Today, just spins but no fire.

Hi all - wow, it's been a while again, many changes since I last visited :) Unfortunately, its bad news that brings me back... Its almost exactly the 3rd anniversary of me owning my Z, and as a present, I've gone and bashed her in :( :( Coming out of a junction the wet weather finally caught me out, and I did a very pretty 180 pirouette and thumped the right-rear wheel into a kerb sideways. The rim of the alloy has broken off but that's the least of my worries. The wheel itself is loose; looks like some aspect of the RWS has snapped or something. Only noticed the oher day, that there is a weird gap above the 300zx logo on the back of my car (see pic), I thought something had fell out until I looked at some older pictures of it and theyre all like that.

Advice Required. Had a service done 3 weeks ago by a Nissan Mechanic. Everything is fine however he's advised me to run some injector cleaner through it.. I read some time ago on the 300zx.com forum that you should'nt run injector cleaner through the fuel and that dealerships have a special cleaner that you attach and cleans the system while idleing for 20mins... I've not done it yet as i'm sure i came across this in the manual as well?? Any advice appreciated!

Hi Kirbz Just after a bit of advice regarding the old EVC1 boost controller. I've seen this on Jap Andys' Ebay listing and am thinking of bidding for it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2435355367&category=33742 As you know, I already have the boost solenoid plummed in but am missing the head unit. Assuming it's the same one that you used to have, what sort of boost could you get on the high setting? According the text, it says that "High" equates to 150% of standard boost which on a Zed isn't all that much. Would I be better off just getting a couple of mig tips in conjunction with a chip? To use the drivability upgrade with the JWT twin POP kit, theres a pipe you need to attatch to the offside recirc........the problem being I've got dump valves - so where the f**k does the pipe go now?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help - I've just bought a new Z about 2 weeks ago (1995 TT manual Jap import, with about 50000 miles on the clock) and everything has been ok until this morning when I engaged the clutch to reverse out from my drive after about five seconds a VERY loud screeching noise came from the engine/gearbox area. I put her into neutral and when I disengaged the clutch the noise stopped. I Gingerly drove down the road in 1st gear and when I went to change up to 2nd the noise appeared again and as soon as I took my foot off the clutch the noise stopped again. Hi again, I should think all you lot on here are getting fed up of me now! My car hasn't even been loaded on the boat in Japan and I'm posting questions like a mad thing! hi, now that i have your attention i really need your help. the engine on my 300zx has seized, stopped working, not ticking over etc etc etc...... basically i now need to raise £1500 to get another engine put in and fitted. i bought myself RACE LOGIC TRACTION CONTROL and before i could have it installed in my car the engine blew. Anyway, to raise money i need to sell my traction control ASAP. so is anyone interested. It is Brand new and everything is still in the original packaging. I am looking at around £500. I am sure there is someone that needs TC especially with the winter weather coming. Any advice on selling the TC will be greatfully appreciated. Rav

Is there anyway of checking how old the CAM belt is. The chap I bought it off said it's been changed in the last 1000 Miles but, Can it be checked without pulling the engine and would it be possible to tell the age/wear by looking at the belt itself.... Cheers
