Hi all - wow, it's been a while again, many changes since I last visited :) Unfortunately, its bad news that brings me back... Its almost exactly the 3rd anniversary of me owning my Z, and as a present, I've gone and bashed her in :( :( Coming out of a junction the wet weather finally caught me out, and I did a very pretty 180 pirouette and thumped the right-rear wheel into a kerb sideways. The rim of the alloy has broken off but that's the least of my worries. The wheel itself is loose; looks like some aspect of the RWS has snapped or something. I managed to limp a mile or so back to work, but the car is crabbing badly and doesn't sound like it wants to be su…

Only noticed the oher day, that there is a weird gap above the 300zx logo on the back of my car (see pic), I thought something had fell out until I looked at some older pictures of it and theyre all like that.

Advice Required. Had a service done 3 weeks ago by a Nissan Mechanic. Everything is fine however he's advised me to run some injector cleaner through it.. I read some time ago on the 300zx.com forum that you should'nt run injector cleaner through the fuel and that dealerships have a special cleaner that you attach and cleans the system while idleing for 20mins... I've not done it yet as i'm sure i came across this in the manual as well?? Any advice appreciated!

Hi Kirbz Just after a bit of advice regarding the old EVC1 boost controller. I've seen this on Jap Andys' Ebay listing and am thinking of bidding for it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2435355367&category=33742 As you know, I already have the boost solenoid plummed in but am missing the head unit. Assuming it's the same one that you used to have, what sort of boost could you get on the high setting? According the text, it says that "High" equates to 150% of standard boost which on a Zed isn't all that much. Would I be better off just getting a couple of mig tips in conjunction with a chip? To use the drivability upgrade with the JWT twin POP kit, theres a pipe you need to attatch to the offside recirc........the problem being I've got dump valves - so where the f**k does the pipe go now?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help - I've just bought a new Z about 2 weeks ago (1995 TT manual Jap import, with about 50000 miles on the clock) and everything has been ok until this morning when I engaged the clutch to reverse out from my drive after about five seconds a VERY loud screeching noise came from the engine/gearbox area. I put her into neutral and when I disengaged the clutch the noise stopped. I Gingerly drove down the road in 1st gear and when I went to change up to 2nd the noise appeared again and as soon as I took my foot off the clutch the noise stopped again. Aside from all this noise, clutch was not slipping and it seemed to drive fine. Needles…

Hi again, I should think all you lot on here are getting fed up of me now! My car hasn't even been loaded on the boat in Japan and I'm posting questions like a mad thing! hi, now that i have your attention i really need your help. the engine on my 300zx has seized, stopped working, not ticking over etc etc etc...... basically i now need to raise £1500 to get another engine put in and fitted. i bought myself RACE LOGIC TRACTION CONTROL and before i could have it installed in my car the engine blew. Anyway, to raise money i need to sell my traction control ASAP. so is anyone interested. It is Brand new and everything is still in the original packaging. I am looking at around £500. I am sure there is someone that needs TC especially with the winter weather coming. Any advice on selling the TC will be greatfully appreciated. Rav

seem to have standard radio in my import but it only goes up 90 fm & is there anything i can alter or is it new unit?

Is there anyway of checking how old the CAM belt is. The chap I bought it off said it's been changed in the last 1000 Miles but, Can it be checked without pulling the engine and would it be possible to tell the age/wear by looking at the belt itself.... Cheers

Hi Just after solving one noise i now have another! (if the body work was not so nice i could kick the S@*T out of it sometimes!) Everytime i start the car from cold i get a fairly loud and slightly squeally/numatic drill sound that rises and drops with the revs. It does this until the has warmed up and then everything seems perfect. I am thinking it could be a bearing or the water pump, has anyones Z suffered from anything like this? Cheers Jim

Ok, I'm looking to chip my car. I currently have an induction kit and larger Trust Intercoolers, no exhaust yet, and am currently running standard boost. I've looked around and the JWT chip seems a safe bet to go for. Can I run a JWT chip with my current mods (in a prelude to changing the exhaust and upping the boost) or am I better changing the exhaust first and Chipping and increasing the boost together at a later date? Right... erm don't get mad.... now this ain't exactly a 300zx question... that's doin' fine as standard and to be quite honest at 14yo I don't think the turbos would take NOS. However I've been thinking of sticking it on my v6 mondeo for ages. And I figured there's bound to be folk on here with experience with Nitrous (whereas on the mondeo groups they seem 'pushed back in their seats' with the incredible 170hp of a standard mondeo v6 (think... getting burned off by an XR2i and you won't be far off with the 'incredible' speed of the standard mondeo.. :-) ) so, thinking of 75hp shot, wet kit. seems like they can be had for 4-500 quid. Plus 150 quid fitting.…

I have recently found out that Nelson used Semi-Synthetic Castrol Magatec Oil 0/40W on my last service. :mad: I have some Castrol RS 10W60 (fully synthetic) which I intend to replace it with. Question: Can I do a straight oil change, or will I need to flush it first? Mike

Hi guys, Has anyone experienced the oil pressure gauge reading extremely low pressure (e.g. 0-10 psi) on a long journey?? Although it was low I don't think that it was correct, as after booting it/turning off the engine for 5 minutes it sprang back to life... Is the gauge known to be tempremental?? Your thoughts... Ben

Ok dont take the pi*s but what is the standard BHP, 0-60, top speed etc times of UK against Imports. Turbo and non turbo. Is anyone able to tell me how much it is likely to cost to fit an electronic boost controller, I know it does differ from place to place? They all seem to cost similar amounts to buy but can anyone recommend one inparticular? I guess this is the best thing to do once an exhaust and filter have been sorted? Thanks, Justin :)
