General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Ive been offered a Scorpion cat back system (brand new) very cheap, ive just changed jobs and word got round the company about me owning a zed in days, aparently they had a customer after one who left a deposit and didnt come and get it, so i can have it for what it owes them, which is £250 this is obvously too good to miss, but has anyone either got one, or a pic of one etc. Any opinions on these would be appreciated :)

Hi Guys, I've seen and heard a lot of good things about these... I've done a search on forum but I have a question. Does anyone know where I can one cheaper than the RRP. I have seen people on the supra forum getting a good deal but can't get to PM or email them, even when registered... Please let me know as I think this could well save my license!! Cheers Ben

I know quite a few of you have private number plates... Any chance you could give me some guidance? I would like to know what you need to do once you buy a plate. I think it goes something like this... 1. Buy plate 2. Pay DVLA to transfer plate from holding onto car. 3. Get DVLA to stamp on MOT new registration number. 4. DVLA re-issue tax disc (upon recieving old disc) onto new number. Cheers Ben

Is there a definite answer to what 0-60 the auto 300tt does? Is it similar to the manual or not i.e. sub 6 seconds?

My car has gone from over heating, well not dangerously overheating but getting hotter than it usually does, to now struggling to warm up. My car now struggles to reach 60C no matter what my car is doing. Sitting in traffic, motorway driving, country driving with lots of braking and accelerating, it just doesnt get to 60C. I think It did reach 60C and that was with country driving with the Air Con on, but 5 mins after I turned it off, the temperature was back down. Its not just my extra temperature gauge which shows this, my stock one isn't even reading 1/4 the way up. Could my thermostat be stuck open? And when it was over heating, it not opening all correctly?…

lookin for some dials for my zed i saw some advertised on an american site that lit up different colors with a special box to change the dials colors anyone know the site, i seem to remember them been cheap to buy.:cool:

does anybody on here have, or are thinking about having the new venom rear led rears as featured on their website. looking for opinions, or ease of fitment if you have them already, and apart from asthetics, difference between these new ones, and the fiat ones regards darren

I am not sure if it is just me being always bloody cold but the heater never seems to be very warm. The aircon works fine in the summer. In the winter the car gets up to temp after about 3 miles from a morning start. I can set the climate to 40 and drive for another 15 miles and not even break into a sweat. Now I know the car claims to do many things and a sauna is not one of them but is this normal for a zx? Cheers Ady PS Good job I have heated seats!

quick question...would a prop shaft & centre bearing from a import TT Auto fit UK TT Manual or are they different?

Wearing my engineers hat I'm not wild about putting 8.5" x 18" on the front. Am I being too cautious? I've a chance of some alloys at a good price but I don't want to overload the front end. :confused:

Can anyone help me sort out where to fit my secondry gearbox cooler?? I have brought a 2nd hand uk engine oil cooler which i fit somewhere & connect to cool the engine(as it is larger than my import one). The redundant engine oil cooler then gets connected to the gearbox (doing away with the crap radiator one)? That way you upgrade both coolers which make sense! But where the fock do you fit this bigger one??? I could do with some advice as it is driving me rounnd the benddddddddddddd!!:confused:

Driving home for lunch in my manual Jap 300zx, I moved the gear lever into third and it suddenly dropped a couple of inches. I managed to get home okay, but the lever 'bounced' every time I changed gear. On getting home I took the centre console off to have a quick look. It appears that something has snapped, leaving the gear lever 'floating'. Does anyone know what I mean, and if so how do I repair it? Is this going to be easy, can I glue it/replace it? Please don't tell me I need a new gear box as it still changes through the gears fine. Thanks in advance for your help. Colin

I've had a quick search on the forum and can't find what i'm looking for... What tyre sizes can you stretch to on the standard alloys? If you cant really go above the standard than I'll start looking for some new 18" ones, but i'd like to know what I can do with the standard first... Cheers guys Ben.

I have just had a complete low mileage TT engine placed in my Z. My question is this ! Is there any difference in spec in the engines from a UK to an Import? Is this a dumb question :confused:

Hi All, Would be interested to know, where any of you have fitted auto oil coolers. I'm thinking of fitting mine against rear of main rad in the space between the rad and main fan. This will be the neatest route (and shortest piping) in my opinion, but any feedback re, cooling efficiency and effect of positioning welcome.. I've seen a lot fitted right up front before the secondary/aircon fan, but this looks to impede air flow in that area. Paul N

HEY Bis anyone running SE NISSAN b'o'v's or de=cat pipes? IF SO WHAT THEY LIKE? i live in exeter/devon and am trying to find a suitable garage to get fitted avc-r boost controller ECU re-map BOV'S DE-CAT PIPES INTER-COOLER ETC AT THE MOMENT AM CONSIDERING TRAVELLING 8 + HOUR ROUND TRIP TO se NISSAN DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYWHERE CLOSER OR AM I BETTER OFF GOING FOR IT?
