Got some carb cleaner and gave the throttle bodies a quick clean last night! I think I did it all properly, took off the pipes, opened them up, loosened all the black cack off with a toothbrush, wiped it clean with a soft cloth, put everything back together and then screwed it all up tight again!! My problem is that the idle is now at about 1000rpm instead of 7-800 as it was before. Do you think it will drop after a few drives or should I reset/adjust something?? The car runs and accelerates fine! Halfords is convenient, but staffed by zombies. I got the paint code off the identification plate and took it in, walked past the sign that said they could mix up 48,000 colours and asked the young chap if he could mix it for me. He looked in his big book, and then wound up his computer, but couldn't find Nissan on there at all. I sighed and gave up. Can anyone help out- my paint code is AH3 G (wine red metallic). Should they have been able to do it? They had a big book with model years which he flicked through. Anyone ever attempted to make up of have mad up a stainless exhaust. I have 4.5 inch bore pipes that i was hoping to weld together to make a 1 Outlet System by joining the 2 pipes after the cats. Anyone purchased a back box and made an exhaust? I think the single outlet system would look very aggressive on the back of a 300 but I guess with a 4 inch outlet or bigger it would be rather noisey....anyway f*** the neighbours I dont care about the noise at 6am when i go to work.... Hi all Is there an electronic wizard out there? My Z is fitted with an alarm/flashers/central locking via IR remote & my immobiliser via a key inserted to female connection. I hope this sounds ok? & no a load of bol--cks! My remote is ok. Me problem is, er? my female connector- which is on the centre console. I insert key the thing bleeps code eccepted! great! Pull up at girlfreinds, switch off. Collect girlfreind, insert key, NO BLEEP! F-in Z wont go! RAC called. He said my female connector to the immobiliser is worn & the copper wires in the connector ave add it! Well to replace everything is going to cost me £250! Ok know its not LOL but…

Anyone know how to take the pully off the AC compresser? Its makeing a noise, and i just want to clean it out, and free it up a little as the car was in bits for 9 months and now it make a noise!

Can anyone tell me which wire from the ecu is the road speed wire?? I had my boost controller fitted at grasshopper and it was wired into the revs not the speed so i am going 15mph at stand still, the only good thing is when i rev her up to 6-7000 rpm i have 680 bhp!!! Stopped off tonight on the way back from work. Funny, the clutch is sticking a bit. Came back to the car five minutes later, started it up and heard a weird fizzing coming from the passengers side. Pushed down the clutch and tried to go, taking my foot off it stuck half way (the clutch, not my foot). Stalled, obviously. Tried again and the clutch just went in and stuck- felt all loose on the way in then stuck in. I pinged it back out with my hand but every time I put my foot on it it just went in and stayed there. All accompanied by the strange fizzing sound from the left. Any ideas? please. The car is stuck there now and won't move. Luckily I was within walking…

I have contacted lots of people but as yet no joy .. what a suprise! Anyone know where I can get rubber hose ends from? .. I need to block off two hoses? I don't know the exact diameter, probably 1". There must be someone who manufactures bloody hose ends somewhere surely. Thanks Chris

Since I bought my ZED it has had a really annoying squeak. It seems to be from the front but as we all know it is quite hard to locate the source sometimes. It is only when I go over bumps so I am thinking it could be the shocks, and also when I close the drivers side door it also makes the same noise. The only solution I have found is to turn my music up, but this is becoming increasingly embarrassing when playing my Des O'c tapes through town...... HELP!!!!!

I've had overheating problems on and off for months, and I now think it has to be the head gasket, BUT I can't see oil in the coolant and I can't see any emulsification in the oil. However, can't really think what else it can be... Borrowed the village garage's compression tester (for the radiator, not the cylinder sort!) on Saturday morning and found a major leak where the aftermarket section with the temp sender in was not quite seated properly. I'd checked that one before so I think it's been working itself off slowly. We also bled the radiator whilst we were at it. I then drove a mile or so to get any more air around and then bled it again about two hours later b…

when the rubber pipe which leads from the rad is hard with alot of pressure and the revs go up? then when you open the bleed screw let out some water the reves drop?:confused:

I am trying to find another boost leak as it sound like its got a little worse. It sounds like its coming from the back of the engine right in the middle. I have taken off the balance bar, moved the wiring loom out of the way and had a look but I cant really see any hoses there which could be turbo related. There are 2 or 3 quite wide ones which seem to go into the bulk head which I presume is air con related. Are there any vacume hoses back there? I cant pressurise it at the moment because the balance bar is off but if I put it back on it will hinder my view of the back of the engine. Advice please. Stuart

Finally got the Zed running again (sadly a day after the Chester Meet!!), but there's one small problem... I've managed to 'lose' the rubber insert from the spark plug socket - and eventually found it wrapped around a spark plug!! Anyone had a similar problem, or am i Gonna have to figure this one out for myself?!?

Right. I`ve come into possession of a spare bonnet (cheers Bigbscan:) ) with a view to venting the living daylights out of it.:eek: ;) After looking over old posts on the subject I came away with the knowledge that bonnet vents are, generally speaking a "good thing" (surprise!:D ) except when they let water in or don`t actually work due to poor placement..."a bad thing"...:p What I need to know is where on the bonnet are the optimal places for vents to be fitted to get the most cold air in and hot air out. Also, what design is most effective...louvres, inverted/raised scoops etc. Thanks to my years at Art college, and my continuing work, I`m fairly handy …

When my engine is warmed up/hot the engine sounds like its misfiring when I apply just a little bit of throttle. For example I was in traffic (Scoops's fault) and when rising the revs slowly to pull off, reaching about 2,000 rpm and then sounds like its misfiring and wont go any higher unless I put quite a lot of throttle on and then its fine. Any one have any idea what this could be? Fuel starvation? Fuel pump? Maybe not a good spark. Any help welcome :( Stuart

Every day I travel from Leyland to Longridge where I work and back, it's about seven miles of motor way with a mile and a half either side. In the morning nothing out of the ordinary , but every night when I come to the end of the slip road and wait to pull out the revs go up to about 1500 for about 5 secs, then come back down and all's back to normal. Any ideas anyone?:confused: If you've not it doesn't matter, it's been doing it for months. just a bit odd.

Gotta be done! Just got quote from local jap specialast garage of 3.2 hours @£38/h and £66 for the belt. Does this seem reasonable & what else should i havr done at the same time?

What are the best pads for value and performance? I'm running brembo brakes with 330mm discs The reason i'm looking is that after about 1500 miles of driving the car i'm starting to get a shudder under braking, worse when braking at speed so i have a spare set of discs but no pads Cheers Kirbz

Just doing timing belt change & all the other things down there while im at it. Couple of the lads seem to think an alternator change is good while im there. Where can you get 1 at a decent price & is it worth it as mines ok?
