My sub has twin 6 ohm voice coils connected parallel which gives an impedance of 3 ohms. My amplifier instructions say that bridging can be done at 4 ohms to give 250RMS My amp is rated at 2 ohms but would I be okay to bridge at 3 ohms? Thanks for any help. Steve E

Has anyone put this in their engine oil ? I did yesterday and now its running on 5 cylinders ( i think). Its not performing at all. Feels like it does when there are knackered plugs and your trying to boot it. It was already full of engine oil but i thought a little wont do any harm, so i put in little bottle and now its well f@@ked. Could this be because its over full ? If so i will do an oil/filter change at the weekend and drain it all out! Someone help ! Im gutted    :(

Evening :) I've been offered a good discount of a pair of Goodyear "GSD" tyres but am looking for some info re suitability for the 300ZX on them, no matches found while searching. 255/40/17ZR rears quoted at £64 + VAT each inc fitting and balancing. Seems a bargain if they're any good  Any info on these would be appreciated :D Thanks in advance Pete :)

Hi All, After suffering some really bad detonation we checked my timing and found it was out by 15 degrees (30 degrees advanced at idle). Set it back to 15 degrees and the det was cured although performance was still far from peaky. I can't think of any way that the timing can jump without the timing belt/exhaust cam jumping one or more teeth. We replaced my timing belt at the weekend and found everything was timed up right BUT the marks on the belt were two teeth out on all sprockets when at TDC (!?). Checked the timing again after installing new belt and still 15 degrees out with the CAS in its original position. The only possible explaination I can come …

Anyone know what hose connects to this pipe? and then where does the other end go? Just about to drop the engine back in but wonderd if the hose that connects to this is still in the car, or if it goes back to the engine again!

Just changed the stock radio from my 93 UK Z and found that it has a 2 pin ariel socket at the back....went to my local car parts place and they can get the converter but it costs £20. Seems way OTT for a simple converter is this right? Anyone point me in the right direction to get one?

I'm still deciding which mods to go for, and I was a bit suprised to find that most of the ECUs out there (JWT etc) aren't reprogrammable. I don't know why, but I just thought that they would be tuned to each individual car. So - I'm wondering if a Dastek Unichip would be better? Any experiences good or bad? Also, does anyone know if it works with Boost controllers and afcs? I was thinking of going for the SBC-ID 2 or 3, with the powermeter thing and maybe (if it's worth it) an Apexi AFC. Currently there's just a HKS Superdragger on my 91 Manual TT, so I was also going to add an induction kit and a decent clutch/flywheel. Does this sound like a good route t…

I noticed a few days ago the the temp guage would 'flick' down to nothing and then back to its normal reading under hardish acceleration. Today it began to do this more regularly until it spent more time reading nothing than something!!! Can't put my finger on when this happens as sometimes it comes back up under acceleration and then other times nothing!!! Has anyone come across this? Any ideas what I can check on this? Cheers

Arh crap, my first problem!!!! After getting back from Trax today, the missus noticed water leaking out from the engine bay. I've had a look and the leak is coming from just rear of the front wheel, passenger side. It is clear, odourless water and it was cold even though the engine was still warm. I'm guessing it is an aircon fluid leak would this sound right? (When I switched the AC on, it started leaking out a lot faster.)

Having just had to jack up the car and find a jacking point that would take the weight (and managed to bend the frame a wee bit by putting it in the wrong place....) I did a search for jacking. Someone said you can get an inflatable jack that attaches to the exhaust. Was that inflatable jack just a wind up? Can you really get it? If so I want one NOW. We had great shenannigens driving onto pieces of wood etc. and thought there has got to be a better way...

I know this has been posted on here a million times before, but could someone please give me a decent oil and filter to use on my N/A 92, 300zx. Is it best to buy a standard nissan oil filter or are there some spurious ones on the market out there? Thanks for any help - Mike

I have seen some of the nice body kit parts on the Zcentre page. Is something like a rear spoiler easily installed ? How is it fitted, is it bonded on ? Do you then mask around it and have it sprayed ? Thanks John

Hi, I just put 17in. Kahn wheels on in place of the stock 16s and now from the passengers side (back or front I am not totally sure) there is a ticking/clicking sound that gets faster as the car gets faster. I can't see any obstructions or liner rubbing on the tyre tread. The car was fine until the wheels went on. It is a SWB Jap non-turbo and I put on 9.5x17 at the back and 8x17 at the front. I know this might be a very elementary question but could someone give me an idea of what might be wrong. The wheels made no noise at all until I drove off after the new ones were fitted. Also when I move the wheel left going at a moderate speed (30-40) there is …
