General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Sounds straightforward i know but i've just bought a CD changer and i want it to fit perfectly somewhere in the car and can't get it exactly to fit,i could screw it to the plastic covers somewhere but it doesn't feel that secure. Anyone any ideas or pictures i can have a look at with it fitted,it's a 10 disc changer......

Have lost card with 4 digit security code for standard Nissan CD player. Any ideas where I can get it from? Can't stand listening to Radio 1 any more :(

can any body please help me , i am trying to find out if the 300zx tt 90+ was raced officially and what colour scheme it had e.g the scooby is blue with gold . the supra is white with green and or red waves, please help i want this scheme on my 300zx

Guys, I've been reading this forum for the last week ! Its really helpful and everything but purchasing one of these beasts, I just want to consult with the people who own one FIRST! I propose 2 cars, and all you got to do is say which you would go for & why. Sounds simple, but I am having a real hard time deciding. All of a sudden my car has stopped over heating and I dont know why. Usually driving down a motorway about 70/80 would cause the temp to get over 100C which didnt fill me with confidence. A few days ago I was doing something to my car and I disconnected the battery for over 24 hours, so the ECU was reset, driving today on the motorway between 70/80 when its 27C outside and the temperature never went over 85C. Driving round normal roads and the temp dropped to 60ish. What could have happened to make the temp drop so much? Stuart

Bought some champion plugs RC8PYP. They were listed as a plug for the 300zx TT. Since I have read a few threads saying that these are s***e. Any truth in this before I go and fit them?. Also paid £50 for them so figured they were a decent plug, but then you dont all ways get what you pay for eh!.

Hi Guys, Just a quick question: Had to brake rather suddenly and quite hard to dodge some snotty kid running after his football crossing the road - ABS works great by the way. I wasn't going all that fast so the car stopped dead in its tracks, all was ok for a second or two and then the rpms dropped to about 250~300 and nearly stalled the car! Looks like the ECU kicked in and raised the revs to normal level and all is fine. However, I can replicate this "near stalling" experience every time I brake hard. Under normal braking or hard cornering the car behaves perfectly normal. Could this potentially be a PCV valve problem? I've never experienced it before no…

I take it everyone uses their Z's as second cars then... I can get insurance but to use everyday is going to cost me!!! I don't really want to have 2 cars just for me... I need 2 normally. One for the family (an estate that my wife uses) one for me... Biggest problem is going to by the mileage I going to be doing. I really like the thought of have a powerful car that I can enjoy the driving, but I don't want to be kicked in the b*lls for doing it... Tell me your thoughts guys... Ben. P.S. Strange but true. As seems common the car has run at 7psi from the day I picked her up. ECU check gave code 34 and a relocated Det Sensor fix that. Still code 55 and still 7psi. Have checked all the pipes around the battery etc all fine... Any other ideas chaps... She goes in for an overhaul soon, time belt, water pump etc..so if I can not sort by then will ask Phil at C & S wood to sort...

hey fellas i have just fitted a new bumper to the zed with front foglamps, i bought a fog lamp wiring kit from halfords and has this ugly switch in the kit, no way am i putting this in my motta!! im not sure but on the jap spec zed is there a seperate foglamp switch for front and rear, im sure i have seen one somewhere!! it was the same switch with two different pictures on it for front and rear!! hope someone can help me cheers guys

Have just bought tt auto but really wanted manual one, the reason being a lot of people said the manual gearboxs cant handle the power is there any truth in this?? I know its a bit late but i need to find out as see some of the guys buy autos, (more power/torque ?) then convert to manual, maybe some stronger gearbox???

Anyone know what persentage of power we lose through the wheels on a zed. I have it at 15% at the moment Someone must know Cheers Kirbz

Most ignorant tt owner seeks help from more knowledgable associates. My 1991 tt import made a horrible noise when starting up today. Sounds like a fan blade running against a metal surface. Is sensitive to speed of engine. Heart is beating too fast, wallet is cowering in the corner, face is looking vacant......All answers avidly read, but please be quick, the wife (God bless her!) is sharpening the cutlery with a wicked grin on her face. Hi Mate I believe you also have the Blitz Power iD in your Zed and when it dyno'd your car it was very accurate. The question is what settings did you use?? I have had the car weighed but what how much did you set you power loss at?? Mine is reading stupid HP, which is nice but i really dony think she's that powerful :D Many thanks Kirbz

I have a Gunpro timing light. I have connected it to the battery but I am having trouble putting the clip on which goes normally on a HT lead. Where do I put it on the Z? If I put it on the wire to the coil pack of cylinder 1 nothing happens. The gun does work. Where do I clip the detector of the timing light gun on the Z? Any ideas as I want to test the timing. She seems to be popping a lot lately. Stuart

Anyone have any recommendations for front mats that don't take forever to be delivered

I am replacing my sparks and I know how much torque should be applied, all though I do not have a torque wrench. Is it safe/possible to do this without one?.. Cheers.

Gonna buy a momo wheel, is there any probs using a after market boss kit cause am sure I read it somewhere that it can affect rwsteering hicas, do you transplant slip ring off origional wheel on to aftermarket one?? got quote for boss£35 as momo didn't list one for 300zx got 20% off momo wheel £165 to me £133 Richard

Does anyone know where to get the boot trim plastic mouldings from, more specifically, the ones covering the rear suspension mounts for a 2+0. Looked at courtesy and asked Andy but only 2+2 available. Cheers
