Conclusions from my last question seem to point to either the gearbox mount or the prop shaft bearings...I do have some more information now and a further question: I took the car on a longer journey over the weekend (I only do about 10 miles a day normally!!!) and when properly warmed up the vibrations were no where near as bad as when cold/cool. They still continue when I take the car out of gear. Does this point more towards the rubber gearbox mount (someone suggested that when old and worn vibrations get less as the rubber gets warmer)? are there any particular visible signs that can be seen to determine the gear box mount?

Hi all, Still trying to identify a problem I have with power drop in the upper rpm range. Looking at the CAS at the moment, checked the voltage of the base setting (reference, pin 41/51) measured at the ECU and it fluctuates by half a volt or more for no good reason. Checked the voltage of the position signal (42/52) and it's spot on and steady as a rock, changes slightly for increase in rpm... Can anyone please tell me if the voltage of the reference or 'base' setting should be stable for stable idle rpm?? I would have thought so. If so, can this be due to a dodgy CAS or would that be too easy?? No error codes but timing mysteriously jumped to 15 degrees a…

Its deffo a love hate thing. Messing with my boost controller today to increase the boost and no joy, i can get her to 17/18 psi and peaking at 19 when it was colder but not above that...i know its a lot anyway but if you want more power you gotta have more boost!!! Even at the boost controllers full settings it stays at 17/19 psi?? BUT here we go...just did a ecu check and guess what code came up?? You guested it code 34...b*****d Is this why i cant boost any higher? Would i be able to boost that high while the ecu puts me in safety boost? I am in the process of resetting my ecu to see if that will sort it. Cheers Kirbz (l…

Hi you ever so helpfull lot, Today the car has been a pain in the rear end, it's an auto but when I switch it from Park to Drive or Reverse the revs drop and feels like it's gonna conk out, also for the first time today it stalled when stopping but when went to restart it just keeps turning over but not starting, then when it did actually start up the Power light on the dash kept flashing for a short while, another thing was whenever I go to put foot down when pulling away the revs dropped again.........really annoying me now. Yesterday the car was revving at 3,000 revs at 50 mph, usually this should be about 2,000, could this all to do with one problem does any…

Just wondered if anyone can tell me if the boost guage tells the boost from both turbos combined? For example, if the guage says 8psi, does that mean that both turbos are kicking out 8psi or does it mean that each turbo is pushin 4psi each?

My fairlady is loose around the bottom. I mean, The logo transfer on the back is peeling a little around the bottom. How would anyone suggest I re-apply it without messing up the plastic finish? I seem to remember another post somewhere about someone getting a new one- is this rubbish? I like it. I bet it's something else loads of people would be quite happy to get rid of. I like it!

I need a new drivers side rear light cluster. I have a 91 Japanese NA- will UK light clusters match if I was to get a 'second hand' one from a UK car, or are there differences? It should be easy to fit, shouldn't it? Just disconnect old one and reconnect the new, taking off the plastic lining panel in the boot? Anyone have one lying around that is in decent condition? Rich

Hi all! I am changing front brake pads tomorrow. I think I read if doing this it is best to change the shims as well! Are they easy to get? Like tomorrow! And where from. And whilst here, is the air con belt the same as the fan belt?doh! Or do they just put that on it to lable it? Is this easy to do to. I would imagine its in the web manual can someone tell me the page please.
