Im thinking about starting to make a slam panel for my 300zx. Only trouble is i need the dimensions or a cardboard template of one. If i am succesfull i will go into production of them. I understand that they are in the region of £80 to buy ?! But im going to try and knock them out for about 30 or so. Please could some kind person, send me the dimensions, or better still a cardboard template of the slam panel ? I cant offer much in return but a huge discount on a new slam panel!! What should the idle speed of a UK spec TT auto be? I cleaned the throttle bodies a couple of weeks ago, then disconnected the ecu for over 1/2 hour to reset it, now the idle speed has risen to 1000rpm in neutral and about 950rpm in drive. I have driven about 1500 miles since the clean-out, mixing motorway and B road thrashing on hols in the Yorkshire Moors yet it still hasn't settled down. I've tried wiggling the TPS connector but it does nothing. Also, could the TPS be faulty as the car sometimes comes close to stalling when braking hard, say, at a roundabout?? The revs also drop temporarily to 500 upon selecting reverse?? Any suggestions please…

Hi All, Can anyone recommend a couple of things for me...? 1. What gauges should I get, oil temp, boost, water temp, etc... 2. Where can I get a hose set from? Samco (something like that). 3. a) Is it as essential, as it seems, to have a seperate oil cooler for my auto gearbox? b) How do I sort this out as I have a UK car, isn't this cooler intergrated into the main rad? Although I have posted this question on the oil cooler before and I know I can search for bits of information on it (although it isn't that clear to me... Am I being thick :slap: :confused: ) I don't feel it was answered fully... Now I own such a great car, I want …

Just wondering if someone can give me some advice. I have a 1990 non-turbo 300 auto (import). When I quickly remove my foot from the accelerator I can hear a metallic "clunk". I am fairly sure this is coming from the back of the car. Anyone have any ideas what this could be or has someone had the same problem (if so, how much was it to repair?)

i am moding my z to give a look of a race type car , is there any mechanics and business owners that want to advertise on my car , maybe a company name or a web address mainly motor companys but anything considerd. the idear is that just say your a mechanic, i put your mane all over my car and you give me a slightly cheaper rate just say instead of £33 per hour maybe £30 per hour plus you will be getting advertisement not just mechanics any body the car will be the only street going one of its type

Just got back from Florida where i saw a few nice Z's and a lot of 350z's as well. Bought my greddy e-manage system and UR Pulley set while i was there so will be getting them fitted in the next few weeks and will be able to turn the boost up! The dreaded insurance renewal letter came through while i was away for £750 but after a quick search for insurance companies on here and a quick phone call to Carole Nash (0800 2985555) i have just renewed for £426!!!! Ive been offered a Scorpion cat back system (brand new) very cheap, ive just changed jobs and word got round the company about me owning a zed in days, aparently they had a customer after one who left a deposit and didnt come and get it, so i can have it for what it owes them, which is £250 this is obvously too good to miss, but has anyone either got one, or a pic of one etc. Any opinions on these would be appreciated :)

Hi Guys, I've seen and heard a lot of good things about these... I've done a search on forum but I have a question. Does anyone know where I can one cheaper than the RRP. I know quite a few of you have private number plates... Any chance you could give me some guidance? I would like to know what you need to do once you buy a plate. I think it goes something like this... 1. Buy plate 2. Pay DVLA to transfer plate from holding onto car. 3. Get DVLA to stamp on MOT new registration number. 4. DVLA re-issue tax disc (upon recieving old disc) onto new number. Cheers Ben

My car has gone from over heating, well not dangerously overheating but getting hotter than it usually does, to now struggling to warm up. My car now struggles to reach 60C no matter what my car is doing. Sitting in traffic, motorway driving, country driving with lots of braking and accelerating, it just doesnt get to 60C. I think It did reach 60C and that was with country driving with the Air Con on, but 5 mins after I turned it off, the temperature was back down. Its not just my extra temperature gauge which shows this, my stock one isn't even reading 1/4 the way up. Could my thermostat be stuck open? And when it was over heating, it not opening all correctly?…

I am not sure if it is just me being always bloody cold but the heater never seems to be very warm. The aircon works fine in the summer. In the winter the car gets up to temp after about 3 miles from a morning start. I can set the climate to 40 and drive for another 15 miles and not even break into a sweat. Now I know the car claims to do many things and a sauna is not one of them but is this normal for a zx? Cheers Ady PS Good job I have heated seats!
