Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what actually happens when a turbo blows/fails, or whatever. Will this stop the car from running/starting, or does it just smoke like hell and losec power??

Usually is just the seals that fail and then they smoke heavily. Generally car still runs OK though, but you do Red Arrows impressions.

 

If there is an oil supply problem then they can seize and assuming only one has gone then you will never see the boost gauge raise about about 0psi. Which means loss of power.
