Just bought set of Lexus Sport Alloys 18". Checked PCD, checked ET but never gave inner diameter a thought. Took back wheel off Z and found that the Lex won't fit, the centre's too small. Dunno how practical or economic it would be to have rebates cut or whether it's better to resell them. Will cost me £25 to join Lexus site to advertise 'em there.  Don't even really like them now I have 'em.

Dunno much about them other than they sound good and I want some :D (eventually  ) Would I need 300ZX specific ones, or are they all (the top Jap brands anyway) universal? And could I buy 2 x a single dump valve (eg from a single turbo car) and whack them both on, as long as they are the same? Cheers :) Pete

Ok my engine is bust and i need a new one so i am still selling bit and bobs including my body to raise money. Anyway, here is my question. The engine will be coming out and an another going in so what can i do before the engine goes in to increase performance and make the engine more durable. I was thinking along the line of buying new turbos, forged pistons etc but the problem is i have only heard about these things but dont actually now anything about them or what they invlove. A list of all the things to do whlst the engine is out i will be helpful. Look forward to your replies. Rav

How many possible explanations are there for white smoking exhausts? It only seems to be a problem when the car is idling, but then again, who looks backwards when you're driving? :D On idle the fumes smell very petrol rich and I suspected that my JWT chip is overfuelling the car at idle revs. Would this explain it completely, and if so, how do I fix it? I don't want to go back to a standard spec chip, so would a boost/fuel controller sort it? Is there any way of checking that this is the cause before I spend money? Other options you might consider include.... disconnection of the AIVs from the exhaust? blown turbos (or seals)? family of native …

Yes, a sad attempt to get you all to read the post, sorry, but I do have a problem with my car's horn when it's very wet. The night before last it rained very heavily and in the morning when I started the car the horn came on with the engine, and stayed on until I switched the engine off. In the end I had to take out the fuse for the horn and so since then I've been driving without a working horn, though I suspect that it's dried out enough to work ok again now. Guessing that I'm not the only one with this symptom (it is a design error isn't it???) is there anyone out there who has fixed it? Ta very much.....

Having fitted Blitz BOV's, what parts of the old recirculating valves need blanking off? Can you get away with just blanking off the hose which is easiest to get at? Anybody know the guy in Harrogate who fits chips etc. ? mike@guy2.com

Just a little note for anyone buying parts from the US. it goes without saying that the parts supplied from people such as Courtesy Nissan is meant for their own home market and left hand drive but it can be suprising what parts are not the same. See the attached photo of a heater matrix, the pipe work which includeds the flow valve is completely different could be potentially expensive if your old pipes are in need of changing as Nissan Uk only sell these with the matrix. Looked at a set of pcv hoses from the same supplier today and they do not have the small reducer in the tubing like the UK and Jap spec ones, most likely an emmissions difference. Just…

My garage is fitting a n/s/f lower ball joint for me, which I bought from Courtesy. However when mechanic removed the original lower arm, the ball joint seat (a small cone shaped bit of metal) was still attached to it. The new one doesn't come with the seat and neither local Nissan dealer (whom I obtained the part no. from) nor Courtesy suggested I would need to order that as well. This seat thingy is stuck to the old joint and mechanic doesn't want to force it in case it breaks. We haven't tried to buy a new one from local Nissan dealer yet but if we do there will inevitably be a 6 year wait..... Any opinions as to whether we should force the old seat off …
