Will 18" Alloys go staright onto the Z32 without extra work?.

can anyone reccomend a decent (and non-extortionate) garage to replace my cambelt?? I live in Chester in the North West, but can travel a reasonable distance. I've been quoted £250 + parts 'cash-in-hand' by a nearby garage which deals with performance cars (and has zed experience) but i'm not to sure... Rich

What aftermarket steering wheels are available for the Z32? Also are there any different options for the Auto stick?.

Bought a tank full of Esso fuel at the weekend and the car hates it with a vengeance. Detonating and hiding in safety boost all the time - Had to go and buy some octane booster to finish the tank off. YEUCH! For info - it was the Esso garage in Burscough at the junction of the Ring 'O Bells Road in Merseyside, North West England. I wonder if we should have a thread on good/bad fuel experiences and name the garages so people can either avoid or remember to fill up at. I tend to find the Shell Garage on the A59 in Maghull in Merseyside, North West England has given me the most consistent fuel. And they sell Optimax. Why dont we name and place all the …

Hi I have recently purchased a Import 91 TT Auto. I must say that I did rush into the purchase and think I have a sub standard car. Does anybody live in the Kent area that has a good knowledge of the TT and would be willing to give me a hand in loacting problem areas. Obviously I will cross your palm with Gold (well maybe not gold but you get the picture). The guy who sold it to me has said the Cambelt has been done in the last 200 miles. And I have purchased new Air, Fuel, Oil filter's and new spark plugs all ready for fitting. Thanks in Advance.

Hi all, Back for a bit of advice. I had to get out of the way of a fire engine last night, so floored it. When i did the engine sort of surged, like it was running on kangaroo juice. Its fine around town , but if you boot it, i can only describe that it 'surges'. I did notice when i got home that the exhaust appears to be leaking slightly around the middle some where. Coudl this be related? Grateful for any advice. Thanks Rog

My TT has the back and quater light windows heavily tinted. Is it legaly ok to get the door windows done in a heavy tint?. How dark can you go for the windscreen?.

I need to replace my rear shocks, just started to leak, so not too bad yet! for my NA What to get and where is the question and of course not too expensive. Good local garage will fit Any advice gratefully received.

Can anyone recomend somewhere that will run a decent diagnostic test on my TT. I have not long bought it but there seems to be some strange problems. Loss off power, Turbo lag and funny idle times. I think I may have bought a dog but am willing to spend a bit of money on it to get it right.

Anybody with the SBC-ID boost controller got the optional harness fitted for injector cycle, O2 and water temp etc . Got mine this morning and all the instructions are in japabloodynese:( can't find english fitting instructions anywhere either :(

I have a Jap import 91 TT. It only has 180 Kmh on the speedo!. Is this correct?, I think it only converts to about 110Mph. Also is it a big job to fit another speedo and conversion components to read in Mph?

When I turn her over the HICAS light comes on, all though it does not do this all the time and when I reach speeds of about 50Kmh it goes out again!. Any Ideas?

Can anyone help..... I have just aquired an E reg 300zx auto. It has been standing for a while and the previous owner gave up on it. The problem seems to be that the engine will not run for long periods of time. It starts up OK but will not rev and eventually dies. I have discovered that by disconecting the air flow meter it wil idle but still no revs. Any advice gratefully accepted thanks Steve M

Has anyone ever fitted a new Nissan bushing to the tension rod ? I understand its a hell of an interference fit, and requires a heavy duty press. I was wondering if warming the tension rod end (not to hot to damage the seal or silicon in the bush) and freezing the bush might make allow it to be installed using a hefty bench vise. Thanks John

Anyone here had failure in one of these? Right now, the Zed can vary from 1900-800rpm at rest. Plus, the engine can rev as much as 3.5K before changing up with very little throttle. Sometimes ot changes up normally and other times I have to put the auto into hold just to get the car to change up at sensible revs. Does this sound like the IAA unit to you? Luke seems to think so but I`m not sure I explained the problem very well to him. Any help VVVVV much appreciated as I do not want to think it is the box starting to fail......I only got the car back on Saturday.

I have called DTMotorsport to ask about wheels, thanks to RichardSmith who said: The guy I talked to was really helpful (unlike some other mail order wheel places) and said most people who get 300zx wheels from them go for the sizes above. Another place I called said, nah mate, don't have anything that would fit. Those are the sizes I'd like, but I am not keen on the Azev wheels (and I would prefer something without the bolt cover). Can anyone tell me what they have on their car, or that they know would fit? I've decided on 17s with 9.5 at the rear. Anyone know of other wheels that you can get two sizes in? Hallo All, I'm thinking about getting my wheels fettled. Yes, they are stock alloys and no, I'm not interested in aftermarkets. I have looked at loads of places that refurb alloy wheels but they all appear to offer powder coating only. Now I know this can look really nice and shiny (eg Andy P's) but I am not after that look. What I am after is the same look as when they rolled out of the factory: alloy colour with a slight surface grain to it. Does any one know a place that can do this or is powder coating my only option? TIA - Gio

I attempted to replace the fuel filter on my TT. I followed some instructions that I d/l from the net. But it seems I have done this wrong as per guide it should stall thus releaving the fuel pressure and then safe to change the filter!. My TT is a Jap import and I beleive the guid was for a US veichle.

I have noticed just recently that there is a smell of petrol coming from the spark plug areas on the passenger side. It is a very strong smell and obvoiusly I am not going to even turn her over until I locate ans sort this problem out?. Any pointers would be most welcome. But I suspect it may be a 'Take it to a garage' job.

Assuming, for some reason, I wanted to remove my HICAS. (To keep this simple, we'll keep it hypothetical)... how would I do it?? Went for a Drive in my old 300zx yesterday after it had a new engine put in it, what I noticed was the top of the engine was making a loud ticking noise. From what I can remember of driving it before the engine went bang!:mad: it was very smooth with no noise at all. Any ideas on what the problem might be:confused: The engine was second hand with 48 thousands miles. It's not my car anymore, just trying to help the new owner out.
