Can someone help. I have a 1989 Z32 Jap import and would like to fit a new stereo. I cannot go into Halfords and buy an adapter because it does not have any plugs just wires. Can amyone tell me what colours do what? I've managed to connect the earth and that's all (that was obvious). The wire colours on the head unit are completely different to the cars so I canno match them up and don;t want to blow anything!!! Any advise would be greatly received.

Is it possible to see from underneath the condition and whether the centre bearing needs replacement ? Can you get to it to give a close inspection and determination ? I replaced the transmission rear mount, but still have the vibration 30-50 mph. Thanks John

While I've got the hoist to put my new engine in, I'd better get a stand to put the old one on so I can try to repair it. Where can I get a cheap one from for a Z engine? Chris.

I have looked in the service manual but I can't find pictures of the centre console area where the lever comes through the floor and how the components assemble. I've got a couple of rubber boots and a metal bracket that I can't find where they go. Also when fitting the gear lever (short shifter) to the box it is bent/angled one way. Does the lever slope towards the box or away? It fits in either direction. Chris.

i've been looking at the caliper overhaul kits from courtesy an i' m a bit confused. The caliper seal kit says from 90 - 92 then 93 to 93, presumably this is due to the change from ally calipers to cast iron. BUT i've got the iron ones and mines a 92, am i right in thinking the yanks didnt get iron callipers until 93? so therefore these are the ones i want.? another thing, why is there no rear calliper seal kit listed, only a front one?

took my 300 to nissan to get the heater matrix replaced, basically cause the few other places round my way said they didnt really want to do it. Alarm bells come when i had to order the matrix for them as they couldnt get a part number (swb import) but car comes back all nice and fixed eventually, went out the friday after and everything is fine till get back to the car that evening to find that i have only full beams at front, no rear or cockpit lights at all. phone up the garage next day and have rant at them, basically figure that the car wasnt in a legal state when it left their workshop and they take it back few days ago, anyway, had a call from their engineer…

Having read about the differnces in UK/Jap cars, and having just bought a Jap NA, with the original Japanese tyres, I thought maybe I should change them, if they are 12 years old, and more suited to Japan in the first place. If I do that, I would like to change the alloys to 17s. Can anyone recommend the right alloys. What size/width of tyres should I have if I have new 17in. alloys? Will any 5 stud alloys fit? Any recommendations?

My ZX failed its MOT on the front suspension upper link. They say that there is some sideways movement where it joins the upper link bracket (inner wheel arch). Anyone heard of this failing before? I assume that there is a rubber bush here that has deteriorated. Anyone know where I can get one for Monday? Would a second hand one do or can I get one off the shelf?

Just noticed today that the idle on my TT is sticking at 2000rpm when I've backed off the throttle gently. If I rev the engine slightly (to around 3000) and then let go of the throttle sharply, then most times it drops back to a more normal idle (just under 1000rpm). What's the most likely cause? (and fix for it)

Just got my TT and I want to replace the stock Air filters. I have done some reasearch and I would like a JWT pop or a K&N pop. Found some british companies but they want silly money for these. Any suggestions for place of purchase?.

I have a turbo timer fitted to my TT. It has just a on/off button and a button whiches chages the Led from 1-9....

im after rear brake discs and pads.for a 91 uk tt can any one help or put me in the right direction where to purchase.

I have just recently put in a JWT chip to the ol Z. After installing it etc .. Started her up and the following occured. 1. White smoke from both exhausts 2. Very strong petrol smell 3. Uneven climbing through the rev range .. slightly juddery. I didn't drive the car because I didn't want to do any damage, just started her up and let her tick over etc ... There has never been any smoke before, not from the exhausts. The old chip was not stock but it was chipped in Japan. I had a look at the maps with a friend and it was rather aggresive on the timing front to say the least, also the rev limiter was set to 8000:eek: Any ideas? Cheers ...…

Hi All, I'm having to get under the covers to have a look at my timing as it may have slipped a couple of teeth (!). While I'm at it I'm replacing the Cambelt (again!), water pump, thermostat and am thinking of replacing the 'auto tensioner' - as this may be the culprit if the belt has indeed slipped. I have been quoted almost £300 for the tensioner by Nissan but I can get a 'tensioner bearing' from another source for a lot less - can anyone tell me whether this is the same thing as the tensioner, just part of it or something completely different?? Thanks in advance. RobH

i have just bought some 18" wheels and only just noticed that all 4 of them are 10" wide. i have 275/35 tyres on rear. and 235/40 on front. i was wondering what the widest tyre i could have on the front would be without causing arch probs cheers ..lee

This may be a long shot, but does anyone know the diameters of drifts that I should make up in advance in order to press out the old tension rod bushes. Thanks John

Anybody got experience of these fuel controllers? I'm not too keen on the Apexi's big bright display but it is meant to have a detonation meter built in which sounds like a good idea. Chris.
