I bought my imported TT '92 manual car a month ago, and that time has thrown up a few problems. I've just been told that my master brake cylinder has a leak (it does, I can see it). Along with this, after the car warms up, I get what I can only describe as a 'wu-wu-wu-wu-wu-wu' noise from the rear. This rises in pitch with speed until it's continuous and loud. When this stage is reached, if you stop the car and move off again, I get a metallic grinding noise which seems to start under the gear lever and moves backwards. Oh, and after 20 or so miles, the HICAS warning light comes on. My local Nissan dealer isn't much help. Is any of this this con…

Hello folks, i am new to this site, so please be patient. I am looking to buy a 300ZX, but as I live in N. Ireland there is not much about. So I will have to venture across the water. a subject close to all ...the dreadfull lights on the Z .....i have recently employed a man waving a red flag with a davey lamp stuck on to his head to guide my way ( he does have to run very very very fast ).........no honestly my question is ,are there any aftermarket light conversions out there that retain the origional look of the OE ? or does anybody know of a good cure for J spec car ? now i may be showing my ignorance here but i keep reading about the two stage electronic damping on the Zed ........is this only on UK spec cars ? confused of kazakhstan ,,:confused:

kazakhstan calling .............hi all , as a new Zed owner i was last time home revelling in the ease in which the car picks up its skirts and heads for the horizon ..........until horror ..!! farmer F***wit pulls out on me in his combine harvester i did not revell in the way the horizon was still rushing towards me with my anchors full on ..........pray tell what is a good quick fix for the crap brakes until i can afford some Brembos ?? Posted a few months back that my cruise never worked had a lot of replies but still nothing!! my car is a uktt man i have tried fuses/switches under clutch and brake pedal the green light comes on .....on dash but when you press button on wheel does not come on any further tests i can do!! cheers Dave:confused:

I am thinking quite far ahead but what size job is changing form Auto to Manual transmission. I susspect this would run into plenty of ££££, but I just want to get an idea so I can budget for a possible swap in the future.

My passenger side main beam bulb has stopped working. First of all it kept going out when I drove over bumps and a swift bang on the headlight sorted it out but now it does not work at all. I have read a few articles online and it seems I have to take the whole bumper off to get to the headlight fixtures!. Does anyone know if there is a easier way of getting to the bulbs?. Ta.

I have been offered the above clutch at a good price. It only has 300 miles on it and I have been told by a friend that it is in excellent condition. Can anyone offer some insight into this clutch? .. I need a clutch that will take the extra HP but I don't particularly want to go to the gym in order to operate it. The clutch I have been told is worth 1.5k .. he is offering it to me for £500 Also I don't think the flywheel is included .. I thought that most of these clutches came with a suitable flywheel, so am I letting myself in for trouble ?... Cheers Chris

I know that as the car gets older the rubber bits around the windows and along the doors change from black to a kind of motley grey colour. Other than replacing all of these, anyone know how to get them black again? While I'm on the subject, my wiper arms have also lost a lot of the black colour. Now they're silvery/black mix. What can be done to get these black again?

Yesterday evening I was at a place called "Tsunami Racing" getting a nice shiney new filter fitted and whilst chatting to the guy there about other future ways to give me more power he said that he'd read about some sort of 'emissions control valve' that comes on Jap spec models...??...and if this valve is removed you can get about another 10-15bhp. He reckons it's a half-hour job. Anyone know what he is on about and if so, is it safe to do and does it work....?

Hi All, Recently sold my Z to a friend,my car had full heads rebuild,various inlet and exhaust valves,new cambelt,headgaskets and all connected paraphanalia after my cambelt slipping! Problem now is the car has lost all compression on NO 2 cylinder,and i mean ALL!! not even a small puff[graham norton] comes out of this cylinder.All other cylinders are around 170psi. This car gave no other signs of problems,just dropped a cylinder and this is what has been found.Just to say,when the valves snapped due to the belt failure,NO valves were replaced in this cylinder,but they were pulled and checked at a brill engine builders[QUASAR,CHESHIRE]. …

Hi, I've had a problem with the famous "Hesitation Syndrome" - well described in numerous posts. I had done most of the checks and it seemed to be better. But a few weeks ago after being "chipped" it was more pronounced especially when trying a full mad throttle. It comes and goes but the last few days was very obviously showing. So today after work I took my printout from the comp. on "hesitation" examined the wiring to the coils etc. all the usual stuff. Took out one connector and tried to get a spark plug out only to realise that my socket set didn't have a long enough piece to get the spark plug out. So I put it all back together again. Hello People, I have noticed that i am having a few crunching moments!! Mainly from 3rd to 4th but it doesnt do it all the time, reverse also can do it sometimes, but also i drove it hard the other day and went from 2nd to 3rd very quick and was straight on the gas full and it was riding the clutch?? Tried it again but a bit more smoother and it was fine. The clutch is a stillen kevlar put in about 20k ago. I spoke to grasshopper and they say it is prob a linkage problem as this is quite common especially from 3rd to 4th. Any ideas?? Cheers Kirbz

Does anyone know where I can buy one of these thingies to go in, above the centre console? (ie not the one over the steering wheel!) Quality of finish isn't too important as I intend to get it leather covered to match the rest of the interior

Both front sidelight bulbs have gone and it will not pass the MOT without them! I have the bulbs out but what to replace them with?? I have done a search of the site but the only advice was go to Halfords - which I can do but just in case does anyone know what they are equivalent to?? Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to connect my Longmill active sub and I'm having problems. I've got a Blaupunkt head unit, which I bought the special subwoofer preamp cable for, connect the amp to the battery (fused) and connected it to earth, but no joy. There is another cable coming out of the sub labelled 'remote' Do I need to connect this to anything? I used to have this sub in my old Zed, connected to a pioneer head unit and it worked fine, so now I am a bit confused :confused: Really want to get my back seats back in b4 Trax too!!!

What offset and Hub size is recommended for a UK TT? I've bitten the bullet and i'm going for a new set of alloys but the 3 places i've contacted have given me 3 different sets of info. I want 17 inch wheels to fit 225 front tyres and 265 rear cos i've already bought them before the wheels:D Thanks, Stuart.

are jap and uk spec rotors the same? i seem to have been told/seen somewhere that the bell housings are of a different depth, or is this just the difference between series ones and twos? come on you jap owners who have changed your discs own up!!! thanking you.

What fuel should I be using for my Z32 TT. It seems to run fine on both regular and Super unleaded. Will it harm the car if I use regular?.

I'm after a photo of a Z that has been de-lined at the side. You know- the strip that goes along the door and onto wing and rear quarter. Cheers.
