I have been offered the above clutch at a good price. It only has 300 miles on it and I have been told by a friend that it is in excellent condition. Can anyone offer some insight into this clutch? .. I need a clutch that will take the extra HP but I don't particularly want to go to the gym in order to operate it. The clutch I have been told is worth 1.5k .. he is offering it to me for £500 Also I don't think the flywheel is included .. I thought that most of these clutches came with a suitable flywheel, so am I letting myself in for trouble ?... Cheers Chris

I know that as the car gets older the rubber bits around the windows and along the doors change from black to a kind of motley grey colour. Other than replacing all of these, anyone know how to get them black again? While I'm on the subject, my wiper arms have also lost a lot of the black colour. Now they're silvery/black mix. What can be done to get these black again?

Yesterday evening I was at a place called "Tsunami Racing" getting a nice shiney new filter fitted and whilst chatting to the guy there about other future ways to give me more power he said that he'd read about some sort of 'emissions control valve' that comes on Jap spec models...??...and if this valve is removed you can get about another 10-15bhp. He reckons it's a half-hour job. Anyone know what he is on about and if so, is it safe to do and does it work....?

Hi All, Recently sold my Z to a friend,my car had full heads rebuild, various inlet and exhaust valves, new cambelt, headgaskets and all connected paraphanalia after my cambelt slipping! Problem now is the car has lost all compression on NO 2 cylinder, and i mean ALL!! not even a small puff[graham norton] comes out of this cylinder. All other cylinders are around 170psi. This car gave no other signs of problems, just dropped a cylinder and this is what has been found.Just to say, when the valves snapped due to the belt failure,NO valves were replaced in this cylinder, but they were pulled and checked at a brill engine builders[QUASAR,CHESHIRE]. …

Hi, I've had a problem with the famous "Hesitation Syndrome" - well described in numerous posts. I had done most of the checks and it seemed to be better. But a few weeks ago after being "chipped" it was more pronounced especially when trying a full mad throttle. It comes and goes but the last few days was very obviously showing. So today after work I took my printout from the comp. on "hesitation" examined the wiring to the coils etc. all the usual stuff. Took out one connector and tried to get a spark plug out only to realise that my socket set didn't have a long enough piece to get the spark plug out. So I put it all back together again. There was no corrosion sh…

Does anyone know where I can buy one of these thingies to go in, above the centre console? (ie not the one over the steering wheel!) Quality of finish isn't too important as I intend to get it leather covered to match the rest of the interior

Hi, I'm trying to connect my Longmill active sub and I'm having problems. I've got a Blaupunkt head unit, which I bought the special subwoofer preamp cable for, connect the amp to the battery (fused) and connected it to earth, but no joy. There is another cable coming out of the sub labelled 'remote' Do I need to connect this to anything? I used to have this sub in my old Zed, connected to a pioneer head unit and it worked fine, so now I am a bit confused  Really want to get my back seats back in b4 Trax too!!!

What offset and Hub size is recommended for a UK TT? I've bitten the bullet and i'm going for a new set of alloys but the 3 places i've contacted have given me 3 different sets of info. I want 17 inch wheels to fit 225 front tyres and 265 rear cos i've already bought them before the wheels:D Thanks, Stuart.

can anyone reccomend a decent (and non-extortionate) garage to replace my cambelt?? I live in Chester in the North West, but can travel a reasonable distance. I've been quoted £250 + parts 'cash-in-hand' by a nearby garage which deals with performance cars (and has zed experience) but i'm not to sure... Rich

Bought a tank full of Esso fuel at the weekend and the car hates it with a vengeance. Detonating and hiding in safety boost all the time - Had to go and buy some octane booster to finish the tank off. YEUCH! For info - it was the Esso garage in Burscough at the junction of the Ring 'O Bells Road in Merseyside, North West England. I wonder if we should have a thread on good/bad fuel experiences and name the garages so people can either avoid or remember to fill up at. I tend to find the Shell Garage on the A59 in Maghull in Merseyside, North West England has given me the most consistent fuel. And they sell Optimax. Why dont we name and place all the …

Hi I have recently purchased a Import 91 TT Auto. I must say that I did rush into the purchase and think I have a sub standard car. Does anybody live in the Kent area that has a good knowledge of the TT and would be willing to give me a hand in loacting problem areas. Obviously I will cross your palm with Gold (well maybe not gold but you get the picture). The guy who sold it to me has said the Cambelt has been done in the last 200 miles. And I have purchased new Air, Fuel, Oil filter's and new spark plugs all ready for fitting. Thanks in Advance.

Hi all, Back for a bit of advice. I had to get out of the way of a fire engine last night, so floored it. When i did the engine sort of surged, like it was running on kangaroo juice. Its fine around town , but if you boot it, i can only describe that it 'surges'. I did notice when i got home that the exhaust appears to be leaking slightly around the middle some where. Coudl this be related? Grateful for any advice. Thanks Rog

Can anyone recomend somewhere that will run a decent diagnostic test on my TT. I have not long bought it but there seems to be some strange problems. Loss off power, Turbo lag and funny idle times. I think I may have bought a dog but am willing to spend a bit of money on it to get it right.
