Replacing the Fuel filter!

I attempted to replace the fuel filter on my TT. I followed some instructions that I d/l from the net. But it seems I have done this wrong as per guide it should stall thus releaving the fuel pressure and then safe to change the filter!.

 

My TT is a Jap import and I beleive the guid was for a US veichle.

    It should be the same procedure, but try this...

     

    As you look into the engine bay - on the left hand side at the back is a set of fusible links - the fuel pump link is in that bank - remove the green link and then start the engine - let it run till it cuts out, then do the filter.

     

    Dont forget to put the link back in when you have finished.

    If the car is has been sitting a day or two the pressure will be almost all gone. Be brave with some rags and catch any spillage - not recommended for compulsive smokers!

    Replaced the filter last night and you would not beleive (I couldn't) the colour of the petrol. It was black, I am now thinking my Z has not been very well looked after at all.

     

    I see some heavy bills looming

    LMAO - thats what I did, but after 5 mins and the engine still running, decided it wasn't gonna stall so removed the fuel pump connector instead in the boot. Turns out the daft **** who installed the imobiliser installed it on the wrong side of the fuse and completely screwed up the wiring - anyone wanna nick a 300zx? :D
