Well guys I am back with more problems on the Zed, but I guess these are my own fault for testing out my top end on a certain M road!:slap:

Well, I have water leaking from somewhere, when I look under the car, it looks like is coming down around the gearbox area, any ideas???? Could I do this or anyone help me???

Also, a metal rubbing noise coming from the front drivers side which you only really hear when you go over a speed bump or a rough road.

And also a fuel leak from the round funny thing that sits on the left hand back side of the engine with 3 pipes connecting to it which should be easy enough to sort.

ANy ideas on any of these guys??

The water leak could be running down from the turbo water hoses. I had one there and it was just due to a loose clip.

Apparently they've q difficult to replace if split tho.

What was the result of your *theoretical* top speed? ;)

Pete

Some tw@t's probably got a mini 300 voodoo doll replica of your car and they're proceeding to turn it into a fooking teabag!

Hi Pete,

Well *thoretical* speed was 166mph or as close as, I went over a bump and the car moved in a way to make my bowels move so I came off the pedal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best speed yet though!!!! Got from Wellingborough to Coventry in 40mins, not bad going! The A14's a really cool road too! Only used 1/4 of a tank too!!!!

Only running standard boost too at the moment as I wanted to bed the new turbos in for 6months. Its nearly time to turn it up! Or maybe I am just asking for trouble.

Adam: Yeah I know, no luck with the car but I guess the new engine, turbos and ghearbox should hold out for a few miles yet so no big big expense left! (TOUCH WOOD)

there are two heater matrix hoses at the back of the engine

and bulk head they sometimes split.

Your metal sound could be your front suspension bushes or shocks?

Im no mechanic though!Ive never tested top whack!!! what did you get?

Good luck

Arthur

Read my last post Arthur for my 'theoretical' top speed.;)

The water leak can only be 2 things if your car is older than 10 years its likely its gonna be split matrix hoses or turbo by pass hoses.

I had the same problem

HOPEFULLY DUFFER WILL GET BACK TO ME SOMEDAY AND LET ME KNOW.:D :D :D

Cheers

Water leak??

Could be the little engine pixxies pissing themselves when you went over 160mph!

(what do you mean there's no such thing as engine pixxies!??)

LMAO @ poor pixies!!!!

Well its booked in with Jeff @ zedworld tomorrow so we'll see how we get on.:)

Let me know how you get on with the hoses cos 2 small ones have split on mine, no way could i get them out myself so just stuffed some rad sealer in the system and they are sealed now, still need to be replaced but want to see how you get on first....:)

Ah yes, Jeff, the original Zed engine Pixie!

(sorry Jeff! but consider it a compliment - please - I don't want to end up in fight club!)

Your metal noise could well be plastic, check all the plasticbits and bobs under the bumper are attached well and not hanging down.

Water leaks tend to run down the engine and all end up looking like they are comming from the same place, my water pump leak, was a bugger to trace.

Easy way to find the leak is get some one to sit in it periodically revving it so you can have a good look round under the bonnet, often these cars dont leak on tickover, but only when you put some revs up to wizz the water round.

Oh and watch your fingers near the fan!!!

Ha ha Mate - your animated gif could well be plastic too!

You'll have to show us the rest so we can form a valid opinion!

I really don't think you should have put Radweld in your system, it can block up pipes and screw up your heater matrix

Here's just one thread from Jeff http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16821&highlight=radweld , do a search and there's a lot of threads about it.........................

Oops never mind, had to do summink cos would have no car otherwise, seems ok but thanks for the advice, have heard its an engine out job for 2 pissy pipes so if that is what is needed then stuff the Z.

Well dropped the car off saturday and Jeff thinks that if it is one of those pipes at the back, it should only be about £45 to get it replaced.

Apparently theres a small piece of rubber piping between two braided pipes which are prone to going.

If this is so, its a really stupid design!??!

So I dont think the whole engine is going to have to come out.:)

No braided ones on mine so must be talking about different pipes.

will just wait till it goes, sod it.
