Just got a lovely 2nd hand stainless exhaust courtesy of Jonnyz32, just giving it a bit of a polish and shine! :D Stupid question being there is plenty of soot inside so should I clean it out before fitting it to the car? if so how? Pressure washer? garden hose? pipe cleaners? Also thought there may be some oil or other gunk in there from the previous car.... Cheers

I have the original remote locking fob but no idea how it works. I pushed a few buttons and there were some beeping noises but I thought it might immobilise the car or something. Does anyone actually use one (my alarm remote unlocks the car anyway) or shall I pop it in the bin? Would it open the boot? I'd quite like that if it did. :hyper: :hyper:

I have a strip with two prongs that is meant to go into two holes above the upper radio slot. The thing is that it won't friction fit into the holes so I'm guessing that I'm missing two metal clips that go over the prongs. Is that right and if so, what sort of clips are needed and does anyone have any for me? Thanks Mooch

I can't believe my series 2 PTU has gone faulty so looking at other things. Would a faulty CAS make the car miss and hold back like there's intermitant sparks? Sometimes the car goes like a train for a second then it almost stalls and cuts out. It runs so rough it can hardly climb a hill sometimes then it's off again. It just feels like it's only getting sparks half the time. I've cleaned everything and tried a different MAF.

I've had a look in FAQ. NO joy. I've just done my cambelt myself and, in the course of events had a look at an apparently new PTU. I didn't put it there. How can you tell the difference?undefined

remove plenum today managed to not break any thing including any rubber hoses......still cant find water leak.....it leaks before it gets to the matrix hoses as no water comes out of them and water is pouring out of the bellhousing still ......?? i have plugged all other water lines and i cant see this leak???? is there a chance it is UNDER the Lower Intake????? Or would it be one off the core plugs as this leak started when my zed was hot after a long drive down the motorway......it pours out of the bellhousing like water out of a tap and thats without the engine running......and it looks like cam belt off time as the intake manifold looks like it has a cam belt idli…

When I had my heads done last year I was told that both my turbo's were fine. Since then the front seal from this turbo seems to have started leaking. Can you have a look at this vid (it's only 1 meg in size). http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk/vids/Fooked_Tub.avi (right click save as) and tell me what could have caused this ? Could a possible theory be that one of the oil feed pipes wasn't done up tight enough and this has caused an air lock in the pipe, so the tub suffered from oil starvation. Or do you think this is purely down to ware and tear ?. The tubs have done 80k miles now and that last 6 years of that have been decatted and the last year has been a…

When im driving and come to a stand still, at traffic lights etc... i get a funny smell. It smells like clutch plate burning or brakes. The thing is, i drive an auto so theres no clutch. The box has recently been fitted from S.E and the gearbox oil is fine. Also i have checked all the brakes and they all look ok (renewed recently). I fitted new rear pads 2 weeks ago. What else can cause this mistery smell  Any ideas. Cars running fine :D

was in traffic the other day and slowly lost electrics, lights etc before the car finally decided to quit aswell. as i dont know the first thing about them was wondering if anyone was local ( rushden, northants ) to try and tell me whats needed. an hour before this happened the car got very hot and was then parked up for an hour before setting off again and was running ok for another hour at normal temp. the car also does not seem to be as quick as the last one i had which was also standard but was an import? i have tried car today and have all correct lights on dashboard but the car just clicks when i tried to start it. the car is also an auto if that makes a difference.…

A lot of NE zedders out over the weekend. Mujina (I think) in Bedlington Station on Friday? Then on Sunday a nice black one down North Shields/Tynemouth way, then I followed a nice white one until it turned down towards St. Marys lighthouse, Whitley Bay. Previous to that there was a LURVLY blue zed heading through Morpeth. Couldn`t get away from the buggers!!! They all looked good though. But then they always do :D
