Mt friend has an auto box on his ZX and he is in the process of selling it, when something gone tits up with it - the revs are going high and the car is only moving slowly ! Any ideas ? Ive never worked on an auto box before, but i assume its some sort of clutching issue - as with a manual box if it did the same thing ??

I have replaced my vented headlamp nose panel for a blank debadged one. People are saying that you need the vented one to let more air in? Surely theres enough air to be sucked in that is cool from the vents in the bumper etc. I thought the vent was purely for looks? Perhaps if the car is running bigger tubs etc fair dos, but surely the induction kit can suck enough air in for a lightly modded zed.

AFAIK there are O2 sensors in the elbow joints just after the turbos and there are cat temp sensors down where the cats are. The O2 sensors are connected to the ECU (and can be read by a ConZult). Q1) Are the cat temp sensors connected to anything other then that strange little red warning light (with the 3 wavy lines) on the dash which J-spec cars have? Q2) Are these cat temp sensors fitted to UK spec cars? Q3) What's their part number? I have searched the manual and online parts but can't find them and am none the wiser. Please help oh gurus

my auto box was taking ages to change from 1st to 2nd. decided to try and adjust the tps but could not here the click so put it back where i marked it. went out for a test drive and 2nd gear was slipping like anything. if i applied more than a little throttle the car would rev and not go anywhere. conzult was showing she was in 2nd. is this summat to do with the tps or is it the bands on the gearbox. how easy is the gearbox to work on, can you drop a pan on it or is it a full rebuild.

Think the brakes are on the way out on the zed. OK at low speed, but if I have to use em at high speed, they are less than responsive and dont sound to healthy either. Where is the best place to get a set of pads and what sort of dosh am I looking at. I guess it might be worth me thinking about higher performence if my buget can stretch to it. Thanks in advance AL

Hi fellas, Ive noticed that when I floor the throttle in drive and the autobox changes up a gear, my BOVs dont dump - they only do so once i let off the gas. Does this mean that the box changes up so quick that there's no dump and therefore no loss in performance? The BOVs work fine - I know cos to sound like a car out of F&F ( :slap: ) I have to ease off the gas just before change, then step on again :mac1: (only when there's people watching tho)

... I've just read this thread about BOV placement: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=36355&highlight=bov - does this mean my BOVs are in the wrong place? If so, is it likely to cause problems? (please excuse the engine grime in the photo)

Just tried to order the two metal radio brackets that hold in the radio to the dash from Courtesy Nissan in the states and although the brackets were $8 each, when I went to pay for them it would be $73 to ship them. roflmfao, $73 to ship something that weighs about as much as a crisp packet with no crisps in it, what a joke and I am now looking for anyone who has a left and right radio bracket for sale please ???
