My knock sensor just got replaced which involves taking the plenum / inlet menifold etc off. I am now getting code 42 fuel temperature sensor warning. My guess is that this is due to the harness being disturbed / brittle. The car appears to start / drive OK so the question is can I carry on driving with a code 42? Will there be any problem with a defunct fuel temp sensor? I read from the manual that this is to pressurise the fuel when the fuel temperature is "higher than specified". What am I risking if this doesn't happen? A cut to safety boost (no problems) or a very large, loud and expensive bang? As you'd expect from Captain Stock, I will get it …

Over the past week I have seen 3 Zeds in Sheffield. A White one, a red one with a modified front bumper and another red one looking pretty standard. Everyone I saw I flashed lights and gave a little wave to - Nadda. They just look at you like your some Moron (probably true). I flashed the same car twice now, each time hes just stared at me (Probably envious :slap: ) Tits, last time Im gonna wave at people

Hi, the car is completely standard 91 UK TT with hicas enabled. What would you recommend using to lower the car as i wanted to close the gaps in the arches...will this cause probs with hicas? Cheers, DAN

LOL, I saw ya! Doing a funny u-turn around those chicane things! Very considerate for you to indicate too. Z was looking nice. I wasn't in my Z, in my mates Audi S4 Cabriolet, 4.2 V8, which I gotta say is a lovely, lovely car.

Hiya, I was looking at getting some TurboXS RFL Type H Blow Off Valves. On turboxs' site they say these are recommended for cars running at 10-25psi....mine is standard so i guess running around 9psi....do you think this would be a problem or just wouldnt be as loud? Also i see they sell adapter kits....would I need to purchase one or is this just to make the install easier? Cheers, DAN

Following our particularly damp but humid summer there seems to be a non too pleasant smell inside particular if the air con / heater is used. Now as detailed by others here before the often pongy smell in your zed is due to bacteria growth on the evaporator. Aerosols of antibacterial foam for air con are available mostly come with a long nozzle, ( most air con companies sell them) expect to pay between £15 to £30 dependent where you get it from. Now often the evaporator is not accessible unless great chunks of the dashboard are removed, and so is difficult and or expensive to sort out. However although complete access is difficult, if the glove box is r…

A big hello to you all  My mates just bought a 300 ZX TT auto, very nice car Its an import in an unusual grey blue colour with the lift out roof, condition is excellent and has modded induction kit, exhaust, electronic boost controller at 14.8 psi etc. Thought we would go for a little spin to see how it runs on our private test track, one of my mates decided he should sit his fat 16 stone arse in my car to even things up, as after being in both cars he thought mine was quicker  Did a few warm up laps then came off a nice corner and gave it some, watched as my mate lost it on the corner as he booted it somewhat early and did some fis…

For more than 3 years I've never been able to get perfect front wheel balance despite 3 sets of 235/40 18" tyres on BBS RSIIs and various attempts to re balance them all unsuccessful. Finally after a couple of months with new tyres balanced when fitted but not right and still unbalanced I began to think I must have a buckled wheel. The fact that the wheel where I sensed most vibration from was covered in a stack of weights kind of worried me. A 600mile round trip to the Emerald isle last week convinced me something had to be done about it. The latest attempt at a new place finally cured it. I asked the young guy (he had an astra with viper stripes and a playstati…

Door lock fix tip The door barrel on the drivers side have a tendency to fail in service leaving owners unable to lock/unlock the door with their key as the key spins round and round( not all have full closure alarms) subsequently having to reach over from the passenger to lock the car then unlock it from the passenger side later. The problem is due to the failure of a small piece of plastic which trips the lock lever rod, as often the case this part is not easily available s often requiring a barrel set is purchased at some excessive cost. Now if you have the time to fabricate this part out of metal and form it the correct shape great but if not, then a li…

Probably due to it been Summer time ( allegedly ) seem to have seen a high incidence of zeds suffering from rattling drivers window when the window is half way down, the cause is due to the nut securing the window rail has come undone or in most cases I have dealt with has gone completely. To access the correct nut lower the window down and from outside the door you can see a round black access disc in the black plastic area at the rear/top of the door pillar, remove the disc and you can see a screw which holds the pillar trim to the inside of the door, when removing the screw take care not to drop into the door. Now pull the trim away from the inside of the d…
