John Dixon Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Anyone know the diameter of the stock master cylinder? Thinking of trying to get a bigger one to improve the pedal with GTR callipars. Quote
lymon Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 cylinder bore according to the service manual (BR-55): 26.99mm -Eric Quote
John Dixon Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 Thanks Eric, Any idea where I might get a bigger one? Maybe a GTR is the obvious place to start looking!! Quote
lymon Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 afaik the GTR has a 25.4 diameter...and skyline owners use our MBC as an upgrade :D also the largest AP racing MBC is (just) 25.4. You could however upgrade to a twin MBC system though ;) Quote
Guest andyduff Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Is it pedal travel you're trying to change john? If so you could look at a bit of fab work and shift the pivot point about a bit ;) Quote
TopLess Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Or you could wind the pedal out slightly, same as the clutch, but not too much Quote
Guest andyduff Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 That will only affect the height of the pedal though.... Quote
TopLess Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 That will only affect the height of the pedal though.... No it also affects the travel, I know cos I adjusted mine by mistake, I thought it was the clutch when I was upside down :duffer: Quote
Guest andyduff Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Well it will bring the point where the brake pads hit the disc further up yeah but the actual travel from there will be the same ;) Quote
TopLess Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Well it will bring the point where the brake pads hit the disc further up yeah but the actual travel from there will be the same ;) Well it's handy if you have got little legs  Quote
TopLess Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 cylinder bore according to the service manual (BR-55): 26.99mm -Eric Isn't there a specific year of BMC that has a larger bore than the rest! Quote
lymon Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 I did some more digging and apparantly there were 3 different sized MBC's used in the Z32. So it might be usefull to check which one you have: 46010-30P01 Manufacture date 2/89 – 7/90 (17/16"/26.99mm NA Tokico) 46010-30P02 Manufacture date 7/89 – 7/90 (17/16"/26.99mm TT Tokico) 46010-30P02 Manufacture date 7/90 – 2/91 (17/16"/26.99mm NA & TT Tokico) 46010-30P10 Manufacture date 2/89 – 7/90 (15/16"/23.81mm NA Nabco non-ABS) 46010-30P21 Manufacture date 2/89 – 7/90 (17/16"/26.99mm NA Nabco) 46010-30P22 Manufacture date 7/89 – 7/90 (17/16"/26.99mm TT Nabco) 46010-30P22 Manufacture date 7/90 – 2/91 (17/16"/26.99mm NA & TT Nabco) 46010-45P00 Manufacture date 9/91 – 9/93 (1"/25.4mm NA TT Tokico) 46010-45P00 Manufacture date 2/91 – 9/91 (1"/25.4mm NA & TT Tokico) 46010-45P20 Manufacture date 9/91 – 9/93 (1"/25.4mm NA & TT Nabco) 46010-45P20 Manufacture date 9/93 – Up (1"/25.4mm NA & TT Nabco) -Eric Quote
John Dixon Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 Cheers for that. Mine's the smaller one, so maybe an earlier one would work better. Sure NISMO do bigger ones, but courtesy parts hasn't been working all day! Quote
