Having problems with my car. When driving after engine warmed up and very little throttle and only at  approx 2000rpm get what i think is a bad misfire which causes the car to judder. When checking ecu get a code 34 (Det sensor) only. I have then reset the ecu and left car to idle recheck the ecu and get code 55. Take the car for a drive and as soon as the car misfires recheck the ecu and code 34. Is it possible for the det sensor to cause this type of misfire (judder) when failing or is it more like ptu failing (series 1 ptu) . I have been through all the connectors and have replaced the injector harness ( which made the engine run smoother ) but are a bit st…

Just got back from the coast. on way i floored accelerator to overtake two cars, on full boost(stock gauge) but when releasing accelerator on over-run saw cloud of white smoke in mirror  went for another overtake and same happened again, only did it on full throttle.  stopped in pub car park and opened bonnet to find that the dipstick had popped out a little and hot oil was spitting out!! after drowning sorrows in pub drove home (bout 30miles) but this time no matter how hard i gunned it no smoke. however i think i'm getting really paranoid cos when i slowed near home i could smell a clutch burning smell and the auto box seemed noisier than normal …

after my visit to thor yesterday. and a no run  . i've spent the morning lookin for pipes that might not be conected. was told poss the turbo actuator. found a pipe with a bolt clamped into it. now for the teci bit(not).on the metal pipe which the rubber pipe joins the throttle body's there is a small T off with a rubber pipe about 1.5cm coming off of it, this then goes around the back of the engine and joins the same place on the other side. at the back of the engine there is a Tpiece with a small piece of hose with a bolt clamped in it. does this sound right. can anyone help me with this. thank in advance. please

99 Spec front end, LED rear lights. A bit daring for rural Devon! I was in a large white Rover 820 as you were going towards Whimple and saw you again pulling out of the Whimple turning about 30 mins later. Nice one.

Just got a set of standard 16s to replace my buckled 17s and ran in to a problem. When I try to put them on I noticed that the centre bit on the inside of the wheel (don't know the name of it - like 4 lips that will sit arounf the hub) doesn't sit flush on all 4 wheels when fitted - it does on 2 and looking at the inside of all 4 wheels, the lips seem to be deeper on two. It also seems that these lips are too tight around the edge of the hub (I think) and this won't let them push on all the way. Bit confused as these wheels are supposed to be off an 89-92 TT and even have the Z centre caps. Is there a difference between UK and J-spec or something? Not sure if th…

hi there friend! my name is jason, reason I am writing you is because I found your site in Japanese performance mag, I actually live in spain but will soon move to england, I am a fanatic lover of the fairlady 300zx, currently I drive a corrado vr6 but am thinking to buy a nissan 300, i prefer the old model that is before the newest 350Z wich personally don´t like. There a couple questions I have; ok- it is hard to search for this car and get a good deal, I know this, many people tell me not to buy it because the twin turbo gave lots of problems, but i am not listening since I love the car and I have to get it lol.... even if its not a turbo model, see, …
