General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I want to get a air/fuel gauge for my Zed. It says in the instructions that I have already that it should connect to the wiring harness with just one wire. Can anyone tell me the O2 sensor wire to connect to from the harness? Also .. as the Zed uses narrowband O2 sensors can I just replace the sensors to wideband ones? I really wan't the gauge to work with a wideband sensor obviously. All your help appreciated as always fellas.

Hi all, I thought my AFC would sort out my stalling problems (after high revs and loud dump from bovs, the revs drop right down into a couple of hundred and sometimes it stalls) - but it didnt :cry: :mad: . I was just in an enclosed driveway where i could hear the car well, revv'd it up to about 3000, then let off the gas. the revs dipped down to about 400 then climbed back up, but i noticed for the first time that while the revs were down there, i could hear a buzzing from the back of the car which im 90% sure is the fuel pump (i hear it for a second or two every time i fire up the ignition then it stops). the buzzing definately starts and stops while the revs are…

OK, heres the story. Had to take an oversized passenger to brighton at the weekend, who managed to bust my passenger seat belt, so i took it apart and fixed it, only i think ive knocked something to do with the door handle mechanism or lock whilst i was in there and now the door will not open either locked or unlocked, or from inside or outside. So now i need to remove the door panel to get to the lock/handle mechanism, but how do i get the panel off with the door shut? Seems like mission impossible to me. All help greatly appreciated.

1990 jap 300 tt auto box started slipping today to the extent that it would just rev ....... if i switched off the engine for a couple of minutes it would drive for a mile or so before doing it again ....... not looked at it yet as it was dark but will be looking and hoping its just low on fluid but if not i could use some help / advice on it plz ..... many regards ....... lee :bow:

hey guys, i have a freshly imported 93 tt,40,000 miles, auto, i would like to go down into the money sapping pit,starting with a chip,--what are the benifits these things bring and does anyone know of a guy or outfit i could trust with my baby in the wirral--liverpool area thanks people------brian

this is driving me nuts, started last week so assumed pads were low, so I went to see a guy I trust for standard replacement pads all round, he could only get TT pads but didn't think it would make any difference, all pads have now been replaced and it still bloody squeals, I'm pretty certain its the front drivers side doin it. Any ideas what the minimum disk thickness is on a 300N/A 1991/92, could the disks be too thin and so squealling. I noticed 1 or 2 cracks in the shims were the caliper pistons contact the pads- could this be the cause. answers or comments on a post card please as I said " it's driving me nuts" and doesn't sound good around town …

My fuel tank has corroded near to the strap on the drivers side. What are my options in terms of repair / replacement? I've heard of chemical bonding reapir stuff but not sure of it's success rate + if one bit is corroded surely another bit will follow soon? How much is a new tank?

Got my Daily Driver insured with Direct line. I have never has a fault claim in 13 years of driving so therefore I should have 13 years No Claims Bonus. Problem is previous insurers can only send proof of no claims bonus to other insurance companies (so I am told). II have been insured with the US Military for the last two years who did not require proof of no claims bonus. Now Bell direct has asked me of proof of my no claims bonus but they say they will only except the document form the last insurance company I was with. Hi everyone hope somone may be able to help. Ok, I can drive along fine and all is well and then park the car and switch of the engine, after about a minute steam starts to come out of the rear nearside of the bonnet. I have looked into this as much as possible and now I'm puzzled. As the temperature of the coolent temp raises slightly now the engine is switched off water starts to collect in the troph created by the left exhaust rocker cover, this runs to the back of the engine traces down the rocker cover seal and then drips onto the nearside turbo, creating steam. Does anyone know the status of the Viper front bumper from Zcentre ?. Hi! To anyone who has fitted a leather seat kit from Luke at the ZCentre ...... how the feck did you manage to fit the bit that goes over the cover on the centre storage box/arm rest??? Did you rip off the thick foam? How did you attach it? I've fitted all the seat and headrest bits and it all looks fantastic!! Everyone who's seen it reckons it looks like a factory fit, so I'll take that as a huge compliment to my upholstery skills! :p Cheers for any help! :)

I now have things starting to go wrong already I think, and was wondering if you could shed some light on what the problem(s) might be. Has anyone thought about supercharging a non turbo. Any case studies or examples out there? There are a couple of internet sites and people selling information on ebay to build your own. Just wandered if anyone had thought about a conversion or tried and tested....or will i be the first/last :smw:

My car has had goosehonk since I fitted the induction kit and upped the boost ages ago, a slight noise when passing about +2psi I think. However, yesterday on the trip home from picking it up, I could hear a v quiet goosehonk most of the time when touching the throttle in neg boost :confused: I had a bump at the front drivers side resulting in new bumper, bonnet, wing, headlight and crossmember... its gotta be related somehow to the bump but does anyone have any ideas? Intercooler pipes were fine. I have a pair of stock used recircs in the shed but I wasnt that bothered about the occassional noise. Cheers in advance Pete
