I bought my 300ZX last October,....1stly had to replace gearbox and install new auto gearbox cooling system,.....this was all when I was working down in Basingstoke. When I started working back in Aberdeen I was using the car daily to my work a 90 mile round trip,... for some unknown reason the car started to overheat the needle on the gauge was at maximum,....I stopped and left the car to cool down.
I retrieved the car by tow platform and had an experienced mechanic check it out,.......we changed out the thermostat and fitted a new water pump and radiator cap,.....still the car was overheating,......there is still a high pressure build up in the top entry hose to the radiator, and is pressurizing steam into the overflow reservoir,......then I had the radiator checked by serck services and was found to be OK!!!......I have went by the manual replacing the cooling system,..but still the engine starts to overheat under load.
It seems to be that the car when idling is ok but when I take it out and quickly accelerate up to 70mph and hold it there, the car starts to overheat very quickly.
If anyone can give me some advice with a view to sorting my dilemma, I would be very much appreciated.
