Right since fitting my rose joited tension rod arms there is some play somewhere, if i roll the car slowly and brake lightly then lift off i can feel some play like a bolt is too small for a hole or something and its rocking forwards and backwards with the braking. Its on both sides so I'm sure it to do with the rods. I have tightened the gits more then a tyre place with an overset impact gun so I'm sure it is all tight. Not sure what to look for as everything under the car is fine as i can see?

Let's say I risk getting a slightly older/higher mileage Z. eg: 91,70-80,000 miles... What could typically go wrong and what sort of money are we talking about? If I put £2000 aside of a couple of years incase of a major "issue" would that be sufficient?

Right, my stuff has arrived to do my cam belt. Going to do this saturday and sunday this weekend 18th 19th. If anyone in the Essex/Canvey Island area would like to pop by and give me a hand that would be great. I'm ok with this kind of thing but some help is always more than welcome. Food, drinks and a good laugh watching me dislodge fingers and cut my hands to shreds will be there to help the day/s go ok. So if anyone can make it give me a bell or PM me. 07739 177147 Nick.

Have a loud knock and a bang from under the car when I accelorate and then slow down, on the point of slowing i get a massive knock from unther car on the passengers side, its bloody loud and you can feel it through the car too! I replaced the tension rod arms with rose jointed ones as the silicone bushes had split thought this would sort it as i could see nothing else bad under there, but no its still doing it??? Anyone have any ideas where to look?

My mate Dave has a H-reg Mitsubishi Sigma estate. He's started getting a big 'clunk' going uphill as it tries to change into top gear. It doesn't do it when the engine's cold. Any ideas what it might be.....? Thanks gents

Ok i know it's been done to death but i've been driving with this probably since i've had the car,now a year. Recently i tried the resistor trick and ***k me ,what a difference now it works properly, has anyone had the same problem and just uses a resistor,if so for how long and any problems since using it. Which solution has anyone else tried: A Replaced the knock sensor at great cost. B Replaced the sensor but relocated without taking out the engine C Just use a resistor. Cheers........................

Is there only one type, and if there is more than one, which will fit my Series 1 1990 H Reg N/A Auto J - Spec. And do you really have to take the exhaust off to get to it? Chris Davies

I've had my S13 now for nearly 10yrs. It's been well looked after and garaged. From quite an early age I had some rust around the suspension mounds under the bonnet. Nothing serious though. Also, recently I'ev had some rust pop up under the drivers sill infront of the rear wheel. £500 to fix that!! So what are 300s like generally regarding rust. If I get a 12yr old one am I guarenteed some rust? Or are then generally rust free?

...and measure how high their (standard) spoiler is off the ground? At the rear of my garage is a work surface/shelf across the entire width. The rear on my S13 goes under it for example (I reverse in). Any Zed I buy would have to do the same, so I need to know how high the highest point is say on the last foot of the vehicle. Can some kind owner get a tape measure out and tell me roughly what this highest point is?

How do you fix those small dents and dints that other people carelessly put in your Zed when they open their doors against you :xxx: Strip down the doors and bang from inside? Filler? Get a Northern Lass to suck them oot? I've got a few and it looks really crap in the sunshine. Cheerz.

Let say I get a 91-93 Zed (manual/turbo) with 70,000 on the clock that's been (hopefully) treated well... What can I realistically expect to go wrong in 3-4 years. I do about 4000-5000 miles a year tops...

Hi Getting a judder when ever i go above 60, it is right through the car . Oddly though if i go faster say 95 it goes away a bit ?? Also just had new discs and pads on front because of breaking judder which solved that but now i get a sort of grinding noise when breaking, actually feels like something ruubbing tyre although there isnt anything there. Had all the wheels of etc and all looks ok with breaks so again am stumped. Could it be tention rod bushers or something similar ? :mac1: thanks

Didn't like the interior much. Thought the interior of my S13 was nicer. However, the thing is most definately a LOT faster than mine! Just oozes power! I'm going to test drive another one ASAP and then consider getting one!

Guys, please help..curbed my Zed a while ago avoiding a lane greedy lorry and have been to have a full algnment check 9once bent bits replaced - thankyou Andy Z. The matey said that the front nearside caster angle was well out of alignment and that I had probably bent something but I have had it looked at by a mechanic and there seems to be nothing wrong. What's confusing is that the nearside is in the centre of the arch and the off-side (which is supposed to be correct) is set forward in the arch and rubs on the inside of the arch when turning? Since most of you know a Zed inside out what could it be? or failing that where can I go (I live in Re…
