I saw a post a while ago someone put up about their replacement rad cap they bought from Nissan which was defective. I had bought one and put it on the car while John was working on it, I noticed it didn't seem to engage correctly like the old one! In fact it wasn't sitting correctly on the radiator and was at an angle! Warning this could lead to a loss of coolant/engine overheating and potentially a new engine required! I compared the old and the new one and on the new the retaining lugs were too small, this meant one side did not engage properly on the rad and popped loose. I have ordered a nismo one and touch wood it will fit better!

I just looked up F1 tyre prices, and the size I have now -255/17s came out at a reasonable £110 a go. Out of interest I checked 265s- £170 !!!! OK, I suppose not so many people have them but that is a pretty big difference. I thought quite a few people on here had 265s. That is bloody expensive for tyres.

I recently purchased 2 HKS SSQV Bov's from Chris@Getgreddy  which already had the flanges on ..but.. not the blanking caps and vacumm reducing pipe as the vacuum connection on the Bov's are smaller than on the recircs. Chris has kindly offered to see if HKS USA can supply these, but on the off chance does anyone know where I can purchase them? I contacted HiteQ in Wigan and they claimed these parts could not be bought anywhere, which I find hard to believe. Also was wondering what size vacuum pipe is used for the original recircs? Any suggestions welcomed.. & Many Thanks again Chris for your ongoing help ;)

I have done my exhaust, induction and chip and I am thinking about what my next mod should be. If I went for better brakes, what should I do - completely new discs, skyline brakes, TT brakes? What would be the best for not outrageous money? and what would I have to pay out. I think better brakes would give me more confidence in the car. Should I do anything to the suspension?

Can anyone please make some suggestions, I have been posed with this question from a friend After spending all my money changing the suspension and uprating the brakes, my autobox has developed a problem and I dont know what it could be...... the autobox wont change into 3rd gear unless i take 2nd to 8000rpm, then once in 3rd gear all is ok untill i lift off the accelerator pedal. when i do that i dont have engine braking, the rpm falls to idle untill i accelerate again. the overdrive is fine . when in gear, all 4 gears are fine, they dont slip the oil level is ok and clean + the tps is ok as all the other gears change up and down fine..... Thank you i…

Sometimes coming on these forums can seriously disalusion the prospective buyer, just because it seems that everyone has something wrong with their car, no matter what make or model. But I understand that only those with problem will write in with their problems but what I really wanna no is, How reliable is the 300zx twin turbo engine. I mean, if i was to get a low mileage, well looked after import, how likely am i to have loads of trouble-free motoring, as long as i look after it of course. Or am i MORE likely to have problems? also, is there any 300 specialist that do pre-purpose inspections? cheers

I installed a JWT chip recently, also added in some 1.2mm welding tips for a bit more boost. Anyone have any idea how this will affect insurance? When I added the induction kit it didn't make much difference to my premium but this could be different I reckon. Is it even worth telling them? I mean exhaust and air filter is easy to spot but a chip is more difficult to detect. Cheers, Darren.

As seems to be to be the common problem at the moment both my passenger & drivers seat belts are not wanting to retract anymore. With a LOT of messing about I eventually got the drivers belt to retract but only after panicing and spending £105 on a Securon Racing spec 4 point harness so that I could get to Trax. Now that I have bought the harness it seems silly not to use it especially as the seat blets are becoming very tempermental. Has anyone fitted a 4 point harness in 300 ZX before? And if you have where did you place the rear mounts for the shoulder straps? Am I going to lose one of my back seats? Cheers if anyone can help
